Daniel made 2 excellent points that really resonated with me: (1) to buy something after working really hard, having to save up for it over time, and/or for a special occasion makes the watch infinitely more special; and (2) Discerning whether I just want the watch now as an impulse, or is it something I want forever. Excellent interview! Thank you!
Talking watches alum that never disappoints. Fun conversation. Stop worrying about what other people think and buy what interests you. The frenzied 2022s are over. Kick back and work with ADs you like and drop the rest. The.n enjoy your collection worry free!
Blah, blah, blah… It’s really hard to connect with the “I can have anything I want” crowd. There are far better “Talking Watches” & Hodinkee Interviews to watch.
Love to always hear Daniel Dae Kim. He is a true watch collector and you can see the passion he has about timepieces. Please have him back on soon.
LOVED this conversation. This is what our hobby is all about! Thanks for posting, Hodinkee!
What a pleasure to listen to these two!

The best House of Craft video yet!
just entered a Rolex AD and came out with a Submariner 126613LN. No waiting list, no pre-agreements. It was a big surprise and a big Christmas gift
Congrats! Had that offered to me on my last visit to my AD a couple weeks ago too.
It’s the two-tone version… no real demand for it that’s why. But if you like that’s all that matters! 🎄
in 2024 why is there still not a 4k workflow at Hodinkee
It looks fine to me. Does everything really have to be 4k?
@@atis23hmm it doesn’t have to be, but for an operation as big and prominent as hodinkee it is expected to a certain extent I reckon.
I get the feeling most of us are working while listening to (and watching) this anyway.
Nice to see another person who appreciates the Seiko Pogue, which has been my everyday watch for 48 years.
How can Daniel Dae Kim be 56 years old? He could be right out of the Lost series. :O
Udders
lol Ben rocking them Nike crew socks 😅
lol
‘rocking’…!? 😂
Awesome segment. I love Daniel's answers ❤

well spoken. articulate. one of my favourite actors.
I want to know if he has the Daytona he wore in the series Lost.
Give us Daniel Dae Kim Talking watches Two 🙏
Excellent. Thank you!
I enjoyed this. Thanks.
this was so nice.
Great talk.
Daniel Dae Kim ❤❤❤❤❤
Hodinkee keeping up connecting with them common folk
So relatable
For me 13:45 is where it gets really good
I see only 260 viwes for the moment, and can be the only one yet from a corner of south asia. Watches are always my dream.
No watches huh?
Nope. None at all. Can you handle that?
2:46 it starts talking about watches
I feel like "luxury" watch collecting has lost some of its sub-culture cache.

Third
"This is not a pitch, I swear..." *proceeds to unambiguously solicit a pitch...*
Sums up Hodinkee.
