Literally the second Aaron walks out on the stage with that big ass smile, waves to the crowd and ensures Karen is okay walking up the stairs in those heels, the whole world falls in love with him.
Saw these two in Boston at the try-out and they were PHENOMENAL!!! Aaron Tveit singing "Roxanne" was one of the most electrifying live performances I've seen in theatre. And Karen Olivo is just LIFE!!
That thing he talked about, there really is a moment on the show when their voices really come together and there’s no way to hear them separately it’s so incredible, and it happened both times I saw the show. Omg and I was so curious about Satine’s cough as well, I wanted to ask her on the stage door but I didn’t have the courage to lol I guess it must be recorded, cause it’s so perfect and that cough sounds impossible for a healthy voice, but it’s in perfect sync so it’s really puzzling cause recorded cough wouldn’t be so in sync. But Karen was so kind to appear on the stage door, she was the only one from the cast who came down to sign the playbills of everyone who was waiting outside. These two are perfect. I wish Aaron had come to the stage door too though.
I was lucky to see Karen Olivo a looooong time ago in NYC in BKLYN the Musical, and then, bumped in to her the next day on the street! She was on the phone but was so so nice and took a picture with me and my friends! I want to see this show so badly!
I'm kind of upset Stephen Colbert said he hadn't heard Aaron sing before. He should have reaserched or listened to at least one of the songs from the show before they came to his show.
Pretty sure he said he hadn't heard him sing before for the interview bit...considering they likely rehearsed "Your Song" before the show taping Stephen is just playing along.
Lmao, that's why I looked for this video tbh. I saw a clip of them for a secnd and had to get a better view of it. I have to say, I sure wish I could fill out a dress like that so well too. She looks amazing.
She is so gorgeous & talented, but she seemed very uncomfortable in her dress choice- couldn't move freely, having to sit very posed with very purposeful hand placement to keep the camera from shooting up her micro skirt.
To all the Negative Nellies..stobbit..this is an amazing show which I get to see every night. The song in context of the show is even more amazing....Baz Luhrmann was involved with creating the stage show. Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban saw the show early on and loved it...I know as I watched them from the back of the theatre. Treat yourself...it's truly a spectacular spectacle.
Don't forget, that even though we are all damaged, those who disparage others only do that because they are even more damaged. Not that I always remember that either, I am damaged in my own ways too, lols. But I totally agree with you also. ^-^
That’s why I said shuddup In a nice way. Some people are not gonna like it and that’s fine but the overwhelming response I hear every night is how wonderful it is and how much people are enjoying it young and old.
They kept a lot of the songs of the movie but they had to leave some behind because of rights problems. And all the new songs work greatly with the show
Me: *sees Karen Olivo and Aaron Tveit in the video* Also me: *My name is Karen, my hair is shiny* Also Also Me: *Hey, Regina wanted to tell me that she tried to talk to Aaron, but it's all her fault*
"sonically we lie in the same place" is a very kind way to say that it was really weird of whoever arranged Come What May to essentially inverse the harmonies (Aaron sings a fifth up but an octave down which just sounds wrong)
I don't think they sound good together at all honestly. Aaron is a beautiful singer with a very pure, almost higher pitched sounding voice. Karen has a deeper, more soulful voice with darker colors, heavy vibrato. Their voices don't blend, their harmonies are rather dissonant. It ain't workin' for me.
i noticed that too. funnier to me was stevens' comment at 2:08 about clutching....and the cut to the guests she is 'clutching' the space revealed. loved the dress, but my secondary thought was if you are going to wear a dress that short wear it proudly, without reservation, i.e., don't distract with your hand covering up its' obvious shortness or sit with uncrossed legs.
It is based on the movie. But they made some changes. And they made dating a strong woman who knows what she wants and who will do everything to protect and help her family. She is a great marvellous singer and actress and they are perfect together for the stage production
I wish they’d just skip these noname, bland interviews and let them filter down to the other shows..they always buffer some great actor with nobody’s that drag the entire shows mood down.
I'm always perplexed by people who take the trouble to click on a video just to comment that they're not interested. As if you're annoyed with your time being wasted, when you are the one choosing to waste it. LOL Anyone familiar with Stephen knows he's a big theater fan, so don't expect these types of guests to disappear. Fortunately, there's a huge amount of content available, so we can all find plenty of things to enjoy.
Aaron Tveit is literally a Disney prince. No joke.
Right?! Like why hasnt Disney contacted him yet
Soooo...
He's gay then?
He should be prince eric
Karen being Aaron's biggest fan is the cutest thing. Aaron looks beautiful as always and he looks so happy!
karen is an aaron stan. karen is us. we are karen.
My name is Karen, my hair is shiny
Literally the second Aaron walks out on the stage with that big ass smile, waves to the crowd and ensures Karen is okay walking up the stairs in those heels, the whole world falls in love with him.
Stephen hasn’t heard Aaron sing before? Hasn’t he watched Le Miserable? 🙆🏽
Iconic
And his duet to sing Take me or Leave me from Rent?
I kkknnowwww right... He charmed us our pants offff by being so hot and of course talented in Les Miserables!!!
zephyra yes I totally forgot!! he was amazing
My fave of his is I'm Alive from Next to Normal.
The way Aaron had his blazer buttoned just to unbutton it when he sits down.
Also it's adorable how happy Karen is about how excited the audience is.
That's how you did, though. :)
Now we need to hear Aaron sing firework in the girl key
Saw these two in Boston at the try-out and they were PHENOMENAL!!! Aaron Tveit singing "Roxanne" was one of the most electrifying live performances I've seen in theatre. And Karen Olivo is just LIFE!!
my god he just may be the most attractive man to ever grace us with his presence
Who remembers Aaron as Nate's cousin Tripp from Gossip Girl?
that's where i know him from! thanku, been racking my brain here
Previously on BRAINDEAD.......
He was in a episode of ugly betty.
I adore Aaron Tveit this guy is amazing ♥️
They're both so talented. Seeing them together is a dream come true for sure.
THAT PERFORMANCE THAT NICOLE KIDMAN WAS AT, I WAS THERE!!! I SAW THE BACK OF HER HEAD!!! TRUE STORY!!
That's so awesome! 😊
AUGUST 9th!! ME TOO
69tn like
We were there too and my husband was giddy because he was standing next to their car when they got in and she said hi to him. LOL
Wepa! Vanessa!
No me diga!
How did just those two words just open the floodgates for the full In The Heights soundtrack in my head? I thought I recognized her from somewhere.
I saw the performance, i hate the guy he is way too handsome and has a beautiful voice!!
(This was actually a compliment, dont hate on it)
😂
RD Parialated
I’m jealous‼️
I relate.
4:36 "well I-I mean-" yeah he definitely sings that song in her key when he's home alone
She realized her dress was too short once she sat down. And then she was grateful for her right hand.
hey i have no problem with her dress being short
@@quaimaboylan5175 She might have though because she is on television

What song in the show does it happen in?
I love Aaron Tveit so much. I would love to see him on Broadway one day.
5:00-5:15 is literally the best. I love these two so much
Aaron 😭 i know him from Graceland ❤️ i miss that show soo much
I know someone already said this, but,
*"WEPA! VANESSA!!!"*
I'm sorry. I couldn't help it. I am "powerless". I'll be here all week.
👏👏👏🙌🙌🙌🙌
I was lucky to see Karen Olivo a looooong time ago in NYC in BKLYN the Musical, and then, bumped in to her the next day on the street! She was on the phone but was so so nice and took a picture with me and my friends! I want to see this show so badly!
He’s my favorite! Love his voice so much.
“I do sir” omg Karen
I love them! Thanks for having them on your show.
My favorite broadway stars😍✨I cant wait to see this musical!
Karen Olivo will always be Usnavi’s Vanessa.
They're both so sweet what goofy buddies they are
I love Aaron so much
Karen made the whole show for me, she was so great!!
i neeeeeeeed to watch this musical on broadway...one of my faves musical movies eveeerr
Stephen! You've never heard Aaron sing?!? What kind of Broadway fan are you?!?
I'm kind of upset Stephen Colbert said he hadn't heard Aaron sing before. He should have reaserched or listened to at least one of the songs from the show before they came to his show.

Such An amazing production!!!! Saw it twice when I visited NYC. BLEW MY MIND. 😍
Even their speaking voices are not all that far away in register.
My God, that dress!
Lmao, that's why I looked for this video tbh. I saw a clip of them for a secnd and had to get a better view of it. I have to say, I sure wish I could fill out a dress like that so well too. She looks amazing.

Karen Olivo is sent from the stars. She just radiates insane talent & goodness & humanity.
Saw Aaron and Natalie (Medoza) on Saturday on stage and am so glad I got to see them before they leave the cast on May 8 :') Such a great experience ❤

So lucky you get to see this every night 😭
And get paid! I’m an usher. And watching the audience is thrilling. Truly when they get caught up in it. Magic!
@@adriamorris260 I truly am...and get paid for it. I get such joy watching the audiences. Truly magical for so many!!!
omg they are both so gorgeous
I've been obsessed with Aaron for years snd of course ive been a fan of Karen but she's a fucking ICON in this interview wow I love them
i'm so in love with both of them
Kudos to the musical arranger's work on the updated/added song #'s.
Aaron plays a wonderful carny barker, singing Carnival- and Oklahoma-like songs in Schmigadoon!
I still can’t believe I got to see this show
I love Aaron! And Karen is gorgeous
Karen is beyond beautiful.
If someone tells Donnie that 'Moulin' means windmill, I'm sure he'll send Pence to walk out on this one too.
She seems like so much fun to be around
I know Aaron from Graceland! Good show.. Manny Montana was also on it...
a new era of hope a talent is coming in a big way
Ryan M - The no name comment was unnecessary. How many hit Broadway shows have you preformed in?
She seemed to regret the short dress.
I'm sad he never had Alex Brightman on when Beetlejuice came out. Seth Meyers lucked out on that one
I really wish they would have kept the songs from the movie. That's what I was excited for when I heard about the musical.
They kept a lot of the songs of the movie but they had to leave some behind because of rights problems. And all the new songs work greatly with the show
Wow, Moulin Rouge was always a musical but I see what they're saying. Classic movie.
I screamed
Much respect queen
Me: *sees Karen Olivo and Aaron Tveit in the video*
Also me: *My name is Karen, my hair is shiny*
Also Also Me: *Hey, Regina wanted to tell me that she tried to talk to Aaron, but it's all her fault*
will have a crush on Vanessa forever
Holyshi7! Aaron sang with an Irish accent and Karen with a Spanish... but they speak 'Murrican.
Usnavi gon be soo mad 👀
That's my man
my broadway king and qUEEN
Same!!!
Can we have him as prince eric please
"sonically we lie in the same place" is a very kind way to say that it was really weird of whoever arranged Come What May to essentially inverse the harmonies (Aaron sings a fifth up but an octave down which just sounds wrong)

0:27 y’all🥲🥲🥲
I know this is a comments section of Aaron fans and I respect it but for me it’s all Karen all the time
Being a French speaker, I always thought Americans were saying "Mulan rouge" because of the way they say "Moulin"
Original Moulin Rouge IS a musical.
Or did I miss something?
I'm expecting Moulin Rouge: The Musical: The Series in about 5 years. Why? Money
She walked in and I thought how will she sit down in that dress?
OH Olivia....
...Who?
Am I the only one who think s that Stephen looks like Aaron's father...
😂😂
my parents
If you have to cover your butt with your hand the entire time you sit down, maybe the dress is too short.
i noticed that too. funnier to me was stevens' comment at 2:08 about clutching....and the cut to the guests she is 'clutching' the space revealed. loved the dress, but my secondary thought was if you are going to wear a dress that short wear it proudly, without reservation, i.e., don't distract with your hand covering up its' obvious shortness or sit with uncrossed legs.
Coke. Ok im out.
A musical of a musical? How innovative...
Who?
Why her???? She doesn’t seem feminine Goddess type 😕😟this sucks
It is based on the movie. But they made some changes. And they made dating a strong woman who knows what she wants and who will do everything to protect and help her family. She is a great marvellous singer and actress and they are perfect together for the stage production
Bad bad bad bad bad bad bad
I wish they’d just skip these noname, bland interviews and let them filter down to the other shows..they always buffer some great actor with nobody’s that drag the entire shows mood down.
They have names
Sorry, but Karen and Aaron are two of the most talented actors in theatre. It’s fine if you don’t know them but that doesn’t mean they’re nobodies
Would you dare say something so controversial yet so brave
Ridic.
I'm always perplexed by people who take the trouble to click on a video just to comment that they're not interested. As if you're annoyed with your time being wasted, when you are the one choosing to waste it. LOL
