@Llify I mean if you accidently pause in your own combo you'd have to pick up where it left off. A lot times if both agreed to even let it run, you'd have to know the last timing. In tournament set I don't see that happening, especially if they're playing for money. Then you gotta continue the next game a game down and possibly fighting from an abrupt momentum stop. Not saying someone still wins but mentally that does affect people in live tournaments. That actually happened to my opponent he paused and it triggered him and he fucking raged. I said let it run but he was so fucked in the head from his own shit, that I won the set and advanced. It's funny because those are features I absolutely didn't mind not having. In competitive games I turn them off. I also don't mind not having the adaptive triggers because the feature is distracting and provides more points of failure for the controller.
Having both the Edge and Victrix Pro BFG I honestly don't notice the lack of vibration or haptics like I thought I would. Playing shooters I was definitely far more accurate with the BFG than I was with the Edge. I used it in the PlayStation configuration and it just feels better in hand to me. The Edge does feel more premium though. Still the 20hr battery life is definitely something I appreciate. Using the Edge with haptics and vibration off to mimic the BFG still only got me like 7hrs battery.
I used to run large (100+ people) fighting game tournaments. Tournament mode is probably referring to the rules in those tournaments. If someone hits pause or any of those buttons to pull you out of the combat in a fighting game. That person, even if accident, loses that set. (sometimes if their opponent says it's okay they are allowed a reset of the match. But I never recommend they do this) So that's what it means if "kicked out of the tournament" as you might already be in losers bracket and barely surviving your second set out of three of you slip on finger sweat and pause the game. I've seen it happen. It sucks. But some people do use it to cheat. So blanket rule. This is also why fight sticks have their pause buttons and stuff on the back of the board from you, so it's harder and very improbable that you accidentally hit one.

this controller has a lot of potential if they use premium quality materials instead of cheap shyt, best controller on the market hands down. some billionaire needs to buy the company and provide funding so they could improve the build quality
Just bought this. Not sure if it has changed but I think it feels really good and not cheap at all…… apart from the triggers. Very comfortable, back buttons feel and position are great. From the reviews I was pleasantly surprised how good the controller is……… but…. Going back and forth from this to the standard dual sense, the dual sense in game for fps games (COD etc), feels noticeably smoother and easier to aim with. Only reason I’m sending it back. Shame because it feels great……….. note, I’m shite at fps games to take it as you will. Also, I have been using the GameSir g7 se on the pc for a while now so used to light controllers. This doesn’t feel as light as the g7.
Damn i was interested in this controller but being polling rate locked is just a no go for me nowadays! Sticking to my custom dualsense for now lol. Great review kev

@@progz5232 95% of gamers cant tell the difference, they just do their fancy polling tests and see a number difference and think its making an impact in how they play but the reality is its irrelevant in almost every case.
@@progz5232 same. I have elite series 2, razer wolverine v2 pro, and a modded dual sense and although all of them have a better polling rate, I’m more accurate and feel like the bfg is more responsive which is against logic based on the data. Shrugs

They just don’t have replacement modules available yet because they obviously had a difficult enough time just to get the damn controller out, plus they probably wanted to see how much Sony was going to charge for their replacements and adjust their modules from their as well.
For me, the driver conflict message was caused by the reWASD service. I uninstalled the app and the actual windows service using BCUninstaller and the controller was detected on my Win11 PC just fine.
That intro was great. Made me stop and think 'oh shit, this is gunna be good, and I cancelled the pre order" . In the end I went with the edge just because of all the delays. Dunno why they didn't give you one earlier, best review.
Was able to try the Edge, Razer Wolverine, and this Victrix. I couldn't get used to only have two paddles, so the Edge was out. The Razer, as you said, was super uncomfortable. Who tested that? The Victrix was super comfy, 4 buttons and honestly haven't minded the build quality at all. Appreciate your reviews to set expectations but always good to try yourself as well.
i was looking at this controller and glad i saw the review but i don't think i was going to get one anyway. my hesitance was for a different reason. i'm concerned about the fact that it's a modular controller. i had an Astro C40 for my PS4 and after about four months the L3 (press in on the left stick) stopped working. i ended having to map a back button for it as i play a lot of FPS and the L3 is setup as the "run" action which is definitely needed in these types of games. not sure if this would have the same issue or not but didn't want to drop another $180 (there is now a $200 call of duty limited edition version as well) to have that happen again. didn't know as much about the build quality but glad you got in depth on those as well.
Probably a dumb question, but I am curious about the configuration for the right joystick. Can that be positioned above the action buttons so the layout is like a Wii U pro controller? I am guessing that could cause issues with button configurations, but I am curious. I really find that layout to be comfortable an wish it was a more popular layout.
I got it! First impressions: Plastic is cheap as stated in the video, but the comfort outweighs the cheap feeling (so far). Yay! No more hand cramps from the DualSense monstrosity! No drift or dead zone issues out of the box. I like the oversize D-pad and the default sticks. The only issue I've had is with the back buttons. Though super accessible, I tend to choke the hell out of my controller which makes me grab the back buttons by accident. They are easy to program, or as I did turn them off. I may enable the smaller top buttons eventually, but probably never the larger lower paddles. I would have given up the larger paddles for cheap rumble.
Did you check latency and overclocking with a 3rd party cable in wired mode? Insuring that the cable is not holding it back. If that is even a possibility.
Im still using the normal dualsense and I've been on the fence for the longest time. If the edge hadn't been released I would've gotten the hypr, but now I can't really decide anymore 😅
Don’t get the hypr. Although it’s been a good controller for fps the durability of the controller is questionsome. My first experience was a defect in the back buttons not actuations which might be a rare phenomenon but then 2 months later I experienced stick drift and L1 button was jammed. Sending it back took 3-4 months twice and their customer service was awful. Although I think hypr might have the very slightest edge for fps games, I think the edge provides competitiveness and durability long term
I wonder if Beaver, Aim, Scuf etc. will custom these or the Dualsense edge if beaver or aim 3rd party’s the edge it’s over with I’ll be 1 of the first in line I hate they only went with 2 buttons on the edge
I'd like this to be compared as a PC controller against the Gambit. Your old review is missing the input latency and analogue test stuff so not sure which one to pick up.
Can you replace the thumbsticks (the base of it) with ps4 thumbsticks? Asking because I'm also not a fan of the narrow thumbsticks and I'd rather use the ps4 Kontrol Freeks that I'm used to instead of the taller one thats included. Thanks. Great video!
Hey buddy, you got the Victrix Pro BFG for Xbox on the way yet now that it's out? And if so hopefully you do a video soon cus I'm considering giving it a shot but not till my Gamepad guru gives it the aok
Nice review. Do you know another wireless fightpad (6 inline buttons) option por PS4 &5 or this is the unique option of the entire world? I couldnt find another...
Crazy that the build quality is not great because their fightstick quality are amazing they’re built with anodized aluminum and use sanwa parts for the buttons and lever
I managed to order the controller on best buy about a week ago and it came in today. Maybe just some luck. But the pre orders on best buy go on and off so idk what's going on there
I have this controller now, but I really want to change the inputs, because I'm more of a Fighting Game Player and want to utilize the 6 button layout and having 2 R1/R2 Binds is not ideal. Other Controllers like the Fighting Commander or Razer Raion have a switch to change the Shoulder button inputs into L3/R3 and L1/L2 layout, which is great. I really hope you can do that in the software, but yea, I have to wait I guess... Also, I'm more on PC, so the lack of PS5 exclusive features are not big of a deal for me.
Great review per usual. What control would you recommend with 4 paddles and profile switching? I mainly play single player games like god of war or star wars
The polling rate was a real surprise. Imagine creating the fastest Xbox controller (Gambit at 500hz) and then your next controller in the same line is the slowest PS5 controller, polling rate locked at 125hz... The stock PS5 Dualsense has a wired polling rate of 250hz. What a huge shame.
I use setting 5 for my trigger stops and even when im resting my fingers on the triggers it activates them triggers i tried going in the pc app which number would i need to use when changing the deadzone so it only activated when i press and not activate with the SLIGHTEST touch to the trigger
i have a 2 questions, does the touchpad actually works like a ps touchpad? (i mean, u can use it to move around and type in a chat or so) and also, how does the pc registers it, as a ps4 controller, a ps5 controller, or like a generic controller?

One thing that I'm waiting for is hall effect ps5 controller. I also didn't hear in the pros and cons or the thumbstick part if this controller uses hall effect. Could you make it clear when a controller doesn't have it or by definition, if you don't mention it we can assume it doesn't have it?
he didnt list it in pros and cons but he did mention they are alps when he was in the joypad tester section.
That error youre getting is because you don’t have the right upper or lower class filters, I ran into this same issue and they ended up sending me a file that updated the filters in my registry to get it working. The app isn’t yet updated for full pro bfg compatibility but there are 2 updates you need that you can only get from that app
Help me bro, how do I get the right filter?
Bro please send us that file
Comfort and customizability matter waaaayyy more to me than rumble or haptics, I really like this controller so far
@@johnrambo9104 7.4 so slightly below average size yeah, the Xbox controller is super comfortable to me and this is close to that so for anyone like me I think it’s great
@@johnrambo9104 never heard of the thrustmaster but it looks really good actually. Assuming it doesn’t play ps5 games though? That’s been a massive pain in the ass for me, there’s hardly any alternatives out there
Can you remap the L1, L2 buttons to the other side (R1, R2) similar to most fightpads?
Keep it up, man. Best reviews and most entertaining.
Man these are the reviews I was hoping for. In depth analysis with objective information and subjective input/ opinion. Minus the fanboy state of mind.
I like the round bulbous design of the lower PS4 controller. I struggle to get with the xbox design where the lower hand grips taper--feels like my ring and pinky have nothing to grip around
Wonderful display of your controller knowledge. Picking the Victrix up for sure.
* I have that Alexa Ghost paper weight as well. So sad.
Review of Review: 9.22L7
(I have a system here following the scientific method 🧑🏻🔬)
Question: I'm currently using a dongle for my wireless headset on PS5 and other USB is used up by external HD for PS4 library... So obviously I have to disconnect something. So does Dualsense edge require a dongle?...might be be returning the Victrix I got today.
Awesome video as always
You rock!
Just a little helpful info but those plastic humps that you have on some premium usb type cables is actually a built in In-Line fuse
Hi Kevin, how are you? Do you know of any module for the Victrix besides the one advertised on Amazon? Epindon Victrix Pro BFG Wireless Controller Replacement Stick Module Kit for Right Stick (Playstation 5 / PS5). Thanks
Those are currently the only ones I know about. Have a good one Mario.
Can firmware updates decrease the polling rate? 8ms seems high as even the stock Dualsense is less and this is suppose to be for tournaments as well?
A second in and I know it’s gonna be 🔥. And thank u Kevin for such a quick quality upload.
I watched the intro back like a hundred times after I edited it, I think it turned out sick lol. Controller "BFG", Doom "BFG" it fits perfectly. You are very welcome.
Can you switch the d-pad to top right side of the controller? If so does it still control movement.
I love that you don't use a sure microphone. Thank God bc jeez does everyone use that when it is not the only good mic on the market
This dude the goat just bought one to see if I like it and I think they fixxed some of the build issues cause I can't get it to flex like you did in the video and I ride crotch rockets for fun so it's not a grip issue I think they added a few supports or somthin the triggers still sound hollow asf tho wish ya could put like hot glue or puddy in the triggers to make em sound a bit better but I'm sure it would affect the way it works if I did
Wait, it has no rumble at all? Not a big deal I guess but a tiny rumble motor would've been nice considering the price...
this controller has a lot of potential if they use premium quality materials instead of cheap shyt, best controller on the market hands down. some billionaire needs to buy the company and provide funding so they could improve the build quality
The synopsis is that this controller is great, but dont squeeze it to death or throw it at a wall
Damn i was interested in this controller but being polling rate locked is just a no go for me nowadays! Sticking to my custom dualsense for now lol. Great review kev
can you even tell the difference? I have this controller and literally thought it was more responsive than my ps5 controller till I just saw this video.
Shrugs
@@MuseR. between a rate that miniscule youd have to be actively trying to find the difference cos i promise for most ppl if they werent told the difference they wouldnt even know there is one
@@PowderedNuts If someone is used to 500 (2ms) or 1000 Hz (1ms), then going back down to 125 (8ms) or 250 Hz (4ms), a competitive player can immediately feel the difference. If you don't care about it, then that's fine. But it's not irrelevant at all.
They just don’t have replacement modules available yet because they obviously had a difficult enough time just to get the damn controller out, plus they probably wanted to see how much Sony was going to charge for their replacements and adjust their modules from their as well.
Awesome as always! I cannot wait for the ps vr review! :)
For me, the driver conflict message was caused by the reWASD service. I uninstalled the app and the actual windows service using BCUninstaller and the controller was detected on my Win11 PC just fine.
i have this controller but when i put the layout to be like xbox, the left stick doesn’t work
That intro was great.
I'm not even in the market for a controller but I love these reviews.
I'm supposed to get mine tomorrow. I hate the Dualsense and hate that Sony locks your options. Shame I can't use my Razer Wolverine Ultimate.
I wish I could use mine with PS5. Wonder what our options are other than this controller.
@@nicholasgangwer4895 there's a razer PS5 controller, but it's overpriced and from what I understand not near as good as the Wolverine Ultimate.
I would have given up the larger paddles for cheap rumble.
you can use Xbox Series Kontrol Freeks on the standard sticks, adds a better grip!
I got mine 3 days ago 10/10 like the idea of the fight pad.
Although I think hypr might have the very slightest edge for fps games, I think the edge provides competitiveness and durability long term
can the right stick module be inverted 180 to achieve a wii u pro controller/steamdeck-ish layout?
I wonder if Beaver, Aim, Scuf etc. will custom these or the Dualsense edge if beaver or aim 3rd party’s the edge it’s over with I’ll be 1 of the first in line I hate they only went with 2 buttons on the edge
I'd like this to be compared as a PC controller against the Gambit. Your old review is missing the input latency and analogue test stuff so not sure which one to pick up.
Buy the gambit it’s confirmed to be capable of 1000hz with overclock. The low polling rate on the Bfg is why I opted out
This channel deserves a million subs
Brilliant video, love how much info you put into them, the controller looks good, decent triggers, shame about the build quality and thumb sticks etc.
Does this gamepad support button sequence Macros?
Can you replace the thumbsticks (the base of it) with ps4 thumbsticks? Asking because I'm also not a fan of the narrow thumbsticks and I'd rather use the ps4 Kontrol Freeks that I'm used to instead of the taller one thats included. Thanks. Great video!
Can you do a updated review on the app for this controller?
Hey buddy, you got the Victrix Pro BFG for Xbox on the way yet now that it's out? And if so hopefully you do a video soon cus I'm considering giving it a shot but not till my Gamepad guru gives it the aok
Nice review. Do you know another wireless fightpad (6 inline buttons) option por PS4 &5 or this is the unique option of the entire world? I couldnt find another...
Won't let me overclock on Windows 11, just a got a PC and it gives an error 🥲! Any help would be appreciated!!!!
So u can play ps5 version with the analog in the top left instead of the middle area like the xbox?
Thank you for that Kenny powers snippet.
Tournament mode is stock for fighting game tournaments which i like, im still undecided on this pad
Crazy that the build quality is not great because their fightstick quality are amazing they’re built with anodized aluminum and use sanwa parts for the buttons and lever
Can you buy replacement thumb stick modules? I can’t find them online if so
Where did you get that Ace of Spades HC? Is that custom made?
I managed to order the controller on best buy about a week ago and it came in today. Maybe just some luck. But the pre orders on best buy go on and off so idk what's going on there
Bro I fucking love your intro it’s so good 💖
Hi can precision rings be used with this controller?
Did ya ever find out if you could use rings or stick caps with this?
I’ve stopped using rings now as I’ve improved and find them a hindrance. However no I never found out.
Any way to map these controllers if you do not have a windows computer?? We only have Mac’s 🤣
i barely tap the triggers and it activates i dont like that even with the trigger stops not engaged
So what is the best controller for competitive call of duty on PC that I can buy at a store?
I use setting 5 for my trigger stops and even when im resting my fingers on the triggers it activates them triggers i tried going in the pc app which number would i need to use when changing the deadzone so it only activated when i press and not activate with the SLIGHTEST touch to the trigger
Shoulda said in the beginning this doesnt have any rumble. Instant fade into background for this controller
can you buy modules individually or do you have to buy a new controller
I'm planning on getting this to use as a fightpad. Seems to be perfect for that.
Great review man, been excitedly waiting for this one for a while. One QQ, do kontrol freeks fit?
Yes, the Xbox one /series x Kontrol Freeks fit perfectly on the bfg.
Which kontrol freeks fit on these? My PlayStation kontrol freeks keep falling off
i have a 2 questions, does the touchpad actually works like a ps touchpad? (i mean, u can use it to move around and type in a chat or so) and also, how does the pc registers it, as a ps4 controller, a ps5 controller, or like a generic controller?
Does this controller work on ps5 only games ? Not ps4
the switch on the top of the controller switches between ps5, ps4, and pc
If you had to choose just one. Would get this controller or the Sony one?
