I completely agree, I’ve watched many other transformer toy reviewers, and Jobby really stands alone. The others all leave long silences in their videos and just seem not super entertaining, but Jobby uses editing to make his videos not only shorter than others, but actually funny too. He’s pretty much the only tf toy reviewer that I watch and don’t just fast forward the whole thing.
Desperado's transformation is essentially a far more advanced and complicated version of the Studio Series' Dark of the Moon Megatron figure. The legs form the front of the truck, while the upper half forms the rest. It even has a similar underbelly now that I think about it.
Well it is the same design. It’s entirely likely that if you wanted to figure out a good transformation for this megatron you’ll end up with the same body plan.
I think the og version exists because Unique Toys has never needed to do a design like this on a movie figure, all the other ones are sleek with basically one color. So they went into this figure with that intent but it ended up looking bad so they put in more effort to make it look accurate

Agreed I love the OST for DoTM, the movie was ok, but I did love the robot designs and the flashy action. It's Our Fight, Sentinel Prime's theme, Battle, and the Driller attack theme are some of Jablonsky's best tracks since the first movie's soundtrack. I'd love to see some third party manufacturer be crazy enough to try making a fully functional Driller with a Shockwave minifigure.
One of my fav orites of transformers dark of the moon they give Optimus prime robot abs which you will notice and megatron setting recreate the Lincoln statue sitting. Shockwave and sentinel prime and wreckers.
i like how after two movies of being constantly beaten he ditches his cybertronian alt modes and turns into a truck to mirror optimus when he's at his lowest
Meaning he started hiding now since he is too weak and going to place where hardly any humans will see him is his best bet of survival besides maybe a few animals would try biting his tires
not just to mirror prime this is basically the first time Megatron has ever really paid more then lip service to the In Disguise part of the Transformer's brand slogan

UT just released the "Desert version" of this figure, and it looks exactly like how he is in the film (they should release it at the beginning imo). If you haven't already buy this figure and want one, just get that version

7:03 as someone who watched Dark of the Moon (don't ask why because I don't know either) and if I remember correctly Igor was Megatron's weird pet robot head who only exist for the movie and has a total of two scenese before disappearing and never being mentioned or brought up again. My headcanon for the character that he was brutally killed by Optimus.

I love how the transformation is pretty much a more advanced version of it's Studio Series counterpart. Really drives home how easily the SS figure could've been better if Hasbro had given their designers more to work with.
I think the DoTM Voyager Megatron is underrated. The truck parts actually did a good job being part of the robot mode and he could turns. The way it integrated its fusion canon was great too and it's plastic tarp was actually a well working solution to have his cloak have the right disposition. But more importantly, the transformation was fun. Only issue might be that he was a bit too small. Wish it had been a Voyager instead.

Interesting detail I saw when he was transforming it is the tally marks on the leg. Are they used to count how many autobots he killed or how many comrades he lost? Knowing Bay it was probably the former, or it could be something else entirely.

Unique toys at it yet again with their epic engineering, seriously, their simplified yet accurate transformations is a sight to behold. My favorite transformation music is back!! I would crack the hell up at a video of the original cartoon edited to where when Optimus yells out “Autobots, transform and roll out!” the video then slows down to Jobby’s smooth jazz tune as Optimus slowly transforms…. Hell having a few autobots in the background playing instruments would be hilarious. 😂🤣
I know some people complaing about the "inside out" transformation style, but it makes it a lot easier to keep both modes feeling well done. And... don't they turn in on themselves to transform in the movie? I'm pretty sure a lot of the transformation sequences I remember are sort of like that.
Such an awesome figure. I was disappointed we got a voyager DOTM Megatron and not a leader class one back in 2011, which was when I stopped collecting. This figure really makes up for it. The rusty weathered details are perfect and those chains look great on the robot mode. Crazy how big the truck is too, I did not expect that swiveling trailer function. Love it!
Transformers: Dark of the Moon is my favorite Transformers movie EASILY. Megatron looked so cool in the movie, a broken, bitter leader trying his best to hold onto his glory. Unique Toys just keeps on delivering time and time again with the movie figures, I love it.
My favorite part of DOTM was when Megatron was asked how many genders there would be in a perfect world. I'll never forget his response. "I want... TWO!"
Excellent video as always! I have some issues here and there, but Desperado is a pretty great figure on the whole! Also, the right hand has an extra bit of articulation to it where you can extend the hand at the wrist, allowing for more rotation. It extends decently far too and definitely helps the wrist articulation!

As is always the case, 3rd party coming out of the gate swinging with black magic. I legitimately had to rewind the video a few times to get the transformation but it culminates in a very satisfying figure. Just wish this look got a little more love in the films since I'd say it's my second favorite. Also: I think mp-44 got the torture chamber comment

I still own that figure. It's definitely a solid toy, but it is noticeably smaller compared to my other Voyager class Bayformers.
