It’s so disappointing to see this version of megatron have less screen time because I love this design he looks so menacing and he barley did anything in the movie except attack sentinel and die
It's the same thing with last knight, despite having (in my opinion) a very cool design For Megatron he was absolutely wasted in that movie.

Desperado's transformation is essentially a far more advanced and complicated version of the Studio Series' Dark of the Moon Megatron figure. The legs form the front of the truck, while the upper half forms the rest. It even has a similar underbelly now that I think about it.

Yeah, the hollow underbelly is essentially the same. Even the megatron kibble is there.
Well it is the same design. It’s entirely likely that if you wanted to figure out a good transformation for this megatron you’ll end up with the same body plan.
Like how Challenger has similar engineering to rotf leader prime
I think the og version exists because Unique Toys has never needed to do a design like this on a movie figure, all the other ones are sleek with basically one color. So they went into this figure with that intent but it ended up looking bad so they put in more effort to make it look accurate

I unabashedly love the mad max style desert-punk vehicle for Megatron, and I’m glad they’re using that style for Scourge in RotB

It’s kinda ironic that the “good hand” as Jobby kept calling it was actually the arm Optimus cut off in the previous film. The “gimp” hand is actually how his hands were in the first two films.
i like how after two movies of being constantly beaten he ditches his cybertronian alt modes and turns into a truck to mirror optimus when he's at his lowest
Meaning he started hiding now since he is too weak and going to place where hardly any humans will see him is his best bet of survival besides maybe a few animals would try biting his tires
not just to mirror prime this is basically the first time Megatron has ever really paid more then lip service to the In Disguise part of the Transformer's brand slogan

It's almost a character development thing. Like, he's so broken he doesn't even have the pride of being a true Cybertronian vehicle anymore.

I love the DOTM Megatron design and this figure is almost perfect for me, my only problem is how green he is, he should have more tan/brown on him.
Yea I saw a more accurate toy where he looks rush not green. This actually not right.
Unique Toys is coming out with a Desert Version that's basically this, but tan with battle damage.

I remember the days when I wouldn't even think about clicking on a 20 minute video of someone reviewing a Transformers figure. I don't doubt there are people out there who are entertaining.. but to me Jobby is the one who can get away with it and being funny from beginning to end and without it feeling like it drags.. thanks for all your dedication man!! Love ya.
I completely agree, I’ve watched many other transformer toy reviewers, and Jobby really stands alone. The others all leave long silences in their videos and just seem not super entertaining, but Jobby uses editing to make his videos not only shorter than others, but actually funny too. He’s pretty much the only tf toy reviewer that I watch and don’t just fast forward the whole thing.
Jobby being tsundere towards Michael Bay is my favourite running gag.
Jobby uploading has become a game to test my patience for those things that are great.
And by God it's worth it every time.

Agreed I love the OST for DoTM, the movie was ok, but I did love the robot designs and the flashy action. It's Our Fight, Sentinel Prime's theme, Battle, and the Driller attack theme are some of Jablonsky's best tracks since the first movie's soundtrack.
I'd love to see some third party manufacturer be crazy enough to try making a fully functional Driller with a Shockwave minifigure.
One of my fav orites of transformers dark of the moon they give Optimus prime robot abs which you will notice and megatron setting recreate the Lincoln statue sitting. Shockwave and sentinel prime and wreckers.
It would've been the perfect way to end the Bayformers, but instead, we got aoe and tlk.
thats just bayformers, awsome fights and wonderful music, anything else is less enjoyable BUT i am not preventing anyone from liking them

That was suppose to be the original ending of dotm but the comic was released early on Amazon and it spoiled the movies ending so bay changed it for some stupid reason

Interesting detail I saw when he was transforming it is the tally marks on the leg. Are they used to count how many autobots he killed or how many comrades he lost? Knowing Bay it was probably the former, or it could be something else entirely.
Dotm was my first ever exposure to the concept of transformers, and I LOVED this Megatron. Especially the vehicle mode
Jesus Jobby's fanbase is young, I'd already lost my cherry by the time DOTM came out
UT just released the "Desert version" of this figure, and it looks exactly like how he is in the film (they should release it at the beginning imo). If you haven't already buy this figure and want one, just get that version
7:03 as someone who watched Dark of the Moon (don't ask why because I don't know either) and if I remember correctly Igor was Megatron's weird pet robot head who only exist for the movie and has a total of two scenese before disappearing and never being mentioned or brought up again. My headcanon for the character that he was brutally killed by Optimus.
And according to trans theories or theorymus Igor is actually long haul but smoll

I love how the transformation is pretty much a more advanced version of it's Studio Series counterpart.
Really drives home how easily the SS figure could've been better if Hasbro had given their designers more to work with.

I think the DoTM Voyager Megatron is underrated. The truck parts actually did a good job being part of the robot mode and he could turns. The way it integrated its fusion canon was great too and it's plastic tarp was actually a well working solution to have his cloak have the right disposition. But more importantly, the transformation was fun.
Only issue might be that he was a bit too small. Wish it had been a Voyager instead.

I still own that figure. It's definitely a solid toy, but it is noticeably smaller compared to my other Voyager class Bayformers.
also a translucent plastic shoulder joint that broke within weeks of opening the dammed box

If I were to ever buy an "expensive" figure, it would be this. Just something about this design is visually pleasing, and the amount of detail is awesome. Thanks for reviewing this 🤟

Transformers: Dark of the Moon is my favorite Transformers movie EASILY. Megatron looked so cool in the movie, a broken, bitter leader trying his best to hold onto his glory.
Unique Toys just keeps on delivering time and time again with the movie figures, I love it.
I think i seen they did an "extended" version whit the accurate Paint...ovelall i love the look of the figure and fun fact this Is my favorite version of megatron from the movie,and if you are complaning about his Transformers then you have to try the alien Attack makron's one

I just realized something while watching this review. The way you do the transformation portion is clear and so understandable, you could hand me a copy of this toy and I can transform it back and forth from just watching the transformation bit ONCE.
And there are people out there that dedicate whole videos to just transforming the toys and still muck up instructing people on how to do it.

This figure is really neat to me because I actually got to see the screen-used truck in person.
To say it looks threatening is an understatement, that thing would be a MENACE on the highways.
Idk if anyone has ever noticed this about Jobby but I gotta say, the way he fixes problems like joint tightness/looseness in so many figures is quite impressively creative and I respect that a lot. Keep on swivelling toy man

Such an awesome figure. I was disappointed we got a voyager DOTM Megatron and not a leader class one back in 2011, which was when I stopped collecting. This figure really makes up for it. The rusty weathered details are perfect and those chains look great on the robot mode. Crazy how big the truck is too, I did not expect that swiveling trailer function. Love it!

The color mix up between the head and the rest of the body is movie accurate. In Revenge of the Fallen, he gets wrecked by powered up Optimus at the end of the movie, losing his right arm and half of his face in the process (which is why he doesn’t have his fusion cannon and why his right arm is a different build). He kept what was left of the Cybertron tank mode he had before

My favorite transformation music is back!! I would crack the hell up at a video of the original cartoon edited to where when Optimus yells out “Autobots, transform and roll out!” the video then slows down to Jobby’s smooth jazz tune as Optimus slowly transforms…. Hell having a few autobots in the background playing instruments would be hilarious. 😂🤣

Excellent video as always! I have some issues here and there, but Desperado is a pretty great figure on the whole! Also, the right hand has an extra bit of articulation to it where you can extend the hand at the wrist, allowing for more rotation. It extends decently far too and definitely helps the wrist articulation!
