Fantastic video. Jonathan mentioned your channel so I decided to check it out, welcome to the YTPC. Pipe smoking is a fun hobby that has so many facets. Friendships, the fun of researching pipes and blends, trying pipes and blends, the connection to the past and simple times. Enjoyed the chat and looking forward to your channel and videos. Regards Mark
Thank you Mark, there’s something special about a pipe, the connection to simpler and happier times, I know I’m a dinosaur by todays standards, but hey, I’m a happy dinosaur, and seemingly a dinosaur that owes Jonathan another bottle of whiskey for such a grand shoutout, all the best, Steve
One pipe smoking woman here :) I came through Jonathan. Well done for your first video :) I shall come here more often :) Greetings from Scotland. Katia :)
I believe you are off on a wonderful journey! Welcome aboard! Molto Dolce was one of my first very favorites! I quit cigarettes 45 years ago and just picked up the pipe about 9 months ago! Some very awesome people here including Jonathan, Knott’s & Pipes, Truckin Piper Bob, Brutal Enough and many many more! Best wishes and experiences to you! Thanks for introducing yourself!
Thank you for the warm welcome, the YTPC feels like a very close community, and I hope my presence is a worthy one. The Molto Dolce should arrive in today’s post, so I hope to be muddling my way through my first bowl this evening, all immortalised on video of course, it should be amusing if nothing else. All the very best, Steve
Welcome brother! 1X1 sent me your way. You're embarking on a great journey. I could say a lot of things but the one piece of advice I think is most important is that as long as you are enjoying your pipe and your tobacco you are doing it right. You will find many people that will answer any questions you have and many will offer their opinions but again the main thing is that you enjoy what you smoke and how you smoke it. Enjoy
Johnathan sent me over. Just wanted to welcome you to this great community! I hope you find as much enjoyment and warmth as we all have. Stay smokey 😎 🤙
Thank you sir, and welcome aboard the good ship halfwit, it’s the first time anyone’s said I talk sense in a long time 🤣 Cheers, and all the best, Steve
Interesting fact, studies recently discovered that it's not the nicotine that is addictive, it's all the poisonous chemicals they add to cigarettes and some filtered little cigars that's addictive. So pipe smoking is plenty safe, and other studies proved that pipe smokers live longer than non-smokers, due to less emotional stress building up.
That doesn’t surprise me in the least, the garbage they put in cigarettes to keep them lit can’t be good for anyone, I see pipe tobacco as more organic, after all, it’s little more than a leaf, though I may be completely wrong. A pipe is synonymous with a relaxed pace, which is what we all need from time to time. All the best, Steve
Yep US Surgeon General's report on smoking and health, No.1103, p112 "Death rates for current pipe smokers were little if at all higher than for non-smokers, even with men smoking 10 or more pipefuls per day and with men who had smoked pipes for more than 30 years" but goes on to say "Ex-pipe smokers, on the other hand, showed higher death rates than both non-smokers and current smokers in four out of five studies." So the lesson is, once you start smoking a pipe, don't stop!
another interesting note about that SG report is page 92. For the US pipe smoker who didn't inhale, the mortality rate was 0.8. 1.0 for those who did inhale. Basically smoke a pipe and don't inhale, your life expectancy is a bit longer that non-smokers. But the Canadian arm of the study report there were too few deaths of pipe smokers to be able to categorise by inhalation. all in all, pipe smoking ain't any more harmful than drinking.
This is nearly almost true completely-ish. Nicotine is addictive, but only (really) if you have a method of fast-tracking it to your brain, which the lungs are very happy to do. If you dont use that super-vehicle (lungs) then the chemical addiction is pretty non-existent. Cancer (from smoking) comes almost entirely from the smoke as a result of combustion, which by the way, can come from campfires, cigarettes, or wherever else that produces smoke from any kind of fire. Pipe smokers dont expose themselves to nearly as much smoke as cigarette smokers, so the danger is far, far less.
Welcome to the YTPC. Looking forward to watching your pipe journey. Give it some time, and you will find what you like to smoke and how often you want to smoke. Don't rush it.
Thank you sir, I’m definitely in no rush when it comes to learning the intricacies of pipe smoking, that’s a large part of the appeal, the relaxed nature of it. Pipe smoking is something I see as a journey, and with any journey the real enjoyment comes with slowing down enough to take in and appreciate the scenery. All the best, Steve
Aye allreet Ive watched a good few of your other you tube videos and thoroughly enjoyed them. This one is one of the best, we are about the same age and i totally agree with what you say. Enjoy your beers and your pipes. All the best wishes from the top end of County Durham. If your ever down this way we could call for a pint and a smoke.
Thank you, that’s very much appreciated, personally I wouldn’t watch the rubbish I turn out but I’m glad you enjoy it. I’ll do my best to keep good content flowing, and may well take you up on the drink at some point, all the very best, Steve 🍻
Hello Steve, welcome to the YTPC. For a nice aromatic try Peterson’s University Flake or MacBarens Scottish mixture- if it’s available in the UK. I’m an old guy so that’s why I resumed pipe smoking after a 45 year absence. My Coventry born grandfather smoked pipes. 🇨🇦
Thank you for the welcome sir, it’s very much appreciated. I’ll keep an eye out for those tobaccos, with so many available it will take time to find what suits my palate, but with time I’ll get there. All the best, Steve
Well done pal on your first ytpc video I only started pipe smoking about six weeks ago, so learning off other ytpc channels like 1x1 . Good luck and enjoy
Johnathan sent me .....😁 Like you I stopped smoking, rollies though, 7 ears ago, health reasons. I found it very hard though. I started using the patches, the nasty pills, then the vapes, but succeeded. In the whole seven years I have craved a ciggy every day. Eventually I caved and tried snuff to take the edge off. It worked, but then I remember smoking a pipe in my late teens and I thought I'll give it a go, no inhaling etc. Been smoking a pipe since August 24. Funnily enough my health has improved and I think it's probably down to my wellbeing. Sitting down and relaxing, contemplating with a pipe with some tasty baccy. Excellent vids fella.... from a fellow Yorkshireman.
I think you just hit the nail on the head, a pipe for me represents a very laid back, relaxed way to spend an hour, cigarettes on the other hand are a quick hit, I’m looking forward to just sitting by the widow and chilling whilst the world goes by, not to mention the memories a pipe conjures up. All the best, Steve

Steve, We have so much in common! Ive been smoking a pipe for a long while. I like "bent stems" like yours. I smoke a aromatic blend of cavendish tobaccos with a hint of vanilla. It is a very satisfying smoke. It just seems natural to do when im out in the woods. My Grandfather was a Scotsman from Motherwell. I shall never forget him sitting around our woidstove, smoking his corncob pipe, the aroma of his Five Brothers tobacco filling the kitchen. ScottintheUSA

Us Yorkshiremen get everywhere 🤣 I’ll have to dream up a catchy new intro, eyup fellow puffers perhaps 🤣🤣 Today I was smoking an aromatic blend of fresh air, the postman only brought bills 😔 but hopefully come Monday I’ll get to enjoy my maiden voyage aboard the good ship Molto Dolce, I’ll let you know how I get on 😁
Welcome to the YTPC! Molto Dolce is a delicious blend. However, make sure it airs out a bit (about 30 minutes) before enjoying it! It may byte a bit if you don’t.
Thank you for the warm welcome my friend, and great advice re the Molto Dolce, which arrived in last nights post. I’ll be uploading my first attempt to fill a bowl and savour its delights later on today, fingers crossed for success. All the best, Steve
I too, never looked at the pipe as a way to smoke. I tried a cigar 30 years ago and hated it. But as an ex cigarette smoker of 17 years I started smoking a pipe as it seemed right. Now on my 3rd year and enjoying it. Even got into a cigar too. It's a wonderful way to process a thought or life questions with a bowl. And agree, it's not addictive. I can have none for days or have 10 in a day. Just enjoy life's little things.
The little things often bring the biggest rewards. Sitting with a pipe strikes me as being a great way of taking your foot off the gas for a while, which is a large part of the appeal. All the best, Steve

Hey brother I smoke cigars once in awhile and really enjoy them. I also don't fill my lungs with the smoke, but draw it into my mouth and exhale. Sadly as I watch this, I'm also watching my wife in the hospital with stage 4 lung cancer which has metastisized to her liver. I had no trouble quitting cigarettes, but I was smoking RYO cigs that I made at home with clean tobacco, not the OTC garbage that is less than 50% tobacco.
Welcome aboard sir. I smoke a pipe for the same reasons you do. I feel much the same way. I don't like the way the world is now. Looking forward to more content from you.
Thank you for the welcome sir, it’s very much appreciated. Sadly the world we live in is a much changed place, and not for the better, for me the need to sit back and relax with my memories has never been so important, and that’s where a good pipe comes in. I’ll do my best to keep a good mix of content coming so there’s something for everyone, I hope not to disappoint. All the best, Steve

@ Pleased that you liked it so much to buy again. 10g samples are a great way to try new tobaccos for a smaller investment (£5ish) than experimenting with a 50g £23 tin. All the best, Ady☮️
Na then Steve, molte dolce eh! Blimey super sticky aromatic 😂. We’re all different that’s the great thing about all the different tobaccos, you’ll find your way. I reckon you’ll like the X1X blend it ain’t half bad 😊😊😊. Enjoy the ride
Thank you Bob, I’m sure it’ll be a great ride, eventful, but great 🤣 I’ll soon find my feet, never takes me long to get to grips with anything, but with so many blends to sample I may need more storage space 😂😂
Method in my madness Bob, keep them indoors happy with a good room note. I’m sending him some samples to get into to broaden Steve’s perspective on various blends then it’ll give him an idea what’s out there.
Thank you my friend, my first pouch of tobacco just arrived in the mail so I intend to post a new video tomorrow, it will be my very first attempt at filling a bowl and sampling its delights, it could go all kinds of wrong 😂 All the best, Steve

Thank you for the welcome, all the best, Steve
Nothing wrong with relaxing with a pint and a pipe! Enjoy!! Cheers!!
Welcome aboard mate. Hoping you enjoyed the tobacco when it arrived.
Thank you my friend, it was a really enjoyable tobacco (when I got it going 🤣), so much so I’ll be ordering more.
Thank you Bob, I’m sure it’ll be a great ride, eventful, but great 🤣
I’ll soon find my feet, never takes me long to get to grips with anything, but with so many blends to sample I may need more storage space 😂😂
Method in my madness Bob, keep them indoors happy with a good room note. I’m sending him some samples to get into to broaden Steve’s perspective on various blends then it’ll give him an idea what’s out there.
@@PiperX1Xnot molte dolce 😂😂😂
