Thank you, I want to say much more but I think thank you fits perfectly. You're my go to channel for helping my hand draw my maps. My players complimented me on some of my maps and I had to tell them I was straight robbing the artistic style from this dude on RUclips, and I promptly stopped my DND session to show off the channel. From a guy who cant draw to save his life, thank you.
This is amazing timing! I am starting to work on a short Underdark quest for my players and wanted to try my hand at making my own map. You are an inspiration and really push me to be more creative as a DM. Keep up the amazing content!
Very good work, as always. This video, as well as the one from two years ago on how to draw a city inspires me to try to make my own map. Personally I am playing a solo game of the cyberpunk genre, in an underground city on Mars. And with this it made me want to finally try to create the map of it. Thank you and keep up the great work.
Huzzah, i do lava a little different, mostly dark stimpiling close to solid structures and leave open/hot areas in between those colder/ stippled areas. But it helps sell it better if you use multiple colours, obviously.
I know this was a quick drawing as an example of how to. But I also like how you do the wall fill in with the multitude of line/dashes. That give it that old school feel.
The finished product was very evocative. By the way the dark lava would be cooler so maybe stippling along the banks next time? Some nitpicky geology person will probably call you out on that.😅
Great map, I would love to see a follow up video of an Underdark region/continent type map, with mushroom forest, chasm, ruins, tar pits etc etc..
That would be awesome!
Yes!
I don't get what you mean.
Okay that's an itch that I have that I never thought anybody would scratch on RUclips. Thank you!
running an underdark campaign rn so this'll be super useful!

yet again, absolutely amazing how you can make something so complex by combining many simple pieces!

Thank you for this! I've been trying to figure out how to draw a city map for my steampunk novel, and this gives me some ideas to start with.
I'd love to see an under water city map. Could be in coral or a deep sea trench. Maybe they have utilised some ship wreaks and what not.
Thank you for this awesome video! I love learning how to draw various types of maps and this was helpful.
Awesome, thanks.
Your videos really help me drawing city maps. Good job!
Awesome tutorial
I love the lava river effect.
Would love to see a tree-house map! Also a desert map. A moon/alien planet map. Tower map (isometric). And lastly, a town outdoor shopping area map.
Excellent map JP! Thanks for the great video too!
