    Single player games are the best. I think 90% of games should be single player. But every once in a while there is a good multiplayer game but it’s rare imo.

      @shahaf75 Год назад +24

      Single player games used to be a great way to escape into a story, narrative, release, and entertainment without being dependent on others. Modern games with their overloaded multi-player features have forgotten what it means to play a game. Sure, the social aspect can be fun and engaging, but every once in a while, I just want to enjoy a game by myself without being dependent on others. These games all look really promising and I'm looking forward to seeing how good they end up.

    I don’t like jumping between chapters more so when the content creator offers me the option because I like to immerse myself in the narrative that the creator has put so much time and effort to create and enjoy the journey through the content. Loved the list and the details about the games.

    That Horse and Carriage falling out of the sky at 14:59, reminds me of cars falling off the broken highways in Fallout 4. The game also draws inspiration from Elder Scrolls and Fallout.
    A Dark figure appears before you and hands you a magnificent sword to be delivered.
    The dark figure speaks to you about where you need to deliver the sword and then says, "Here, I'll mark it on your map."

    A Fatigue System? Yeah, the original release of Star Wars Galaxies had that. As you adventured, your HAM bar (Health, Agility, and Mental stats) would get a tiny bit of black creeping from the top end. It was depleting your maximum stats because of battle fatigue. The more you lost a stat in battle or used it to fuel abilities, the more little dings you took off your maximum. To recover it, you had to go to a cantina and listen to entertainers. Since they made entertain a PC class option, you could play one of those entertainers who helped others to recover from their travels in the danger zones. It was a decent idea for adding non-combat options to an MOO. In the beginning it worked but it because a real annoyance if there wasn't anyone playing an entertainer in the area where you were in need of some joy.

    The problem is that MP PVP games are easy to make. They don't take a lot of time or creativity.
    It takes a really talented, passionate, motivated dev or devs along with a company leadership that will allow their devs the freedom to make an interesting fun replayable SP game. Most devs are too lazy or not creative enough to succeed and most company leadership is just greedy bean counters.

    I hate the over use of crafting in single player games. What is the point, all it really does is distract from the game play and story, while making you waste time.

    • @hqgamingnews
      @hqgamingnews  Год назад

      Exactly. Also, if the best items in the game are obtained through crafting, it can lead to a loss of interest in adventuring. If not, then why bother with crafting in the first place?
      Of course, there are more nuances than this, but still...

      @justadad6677 Год назад

      They can easily make some crafting make sense, like alchemy for potions, cooking for food and their buffs, and even gathering items for special events. But they completely over do it, wasting precious time for development and design. @@hqgamingnews

    They seem destined for failure right now. Nothing I see about them now impresses me too much, although I am a fan of rpg games. They seem to have a much too old graphics, they seem to borrow too many elements from other games, and the only things that could contradict such a diagnosis would be if they had some really original and surprising stories.
