Couple of years ago in Nepal I saw two beetle cars from different ages lined to be crushed soon in a scrapyard. The condition of the car was not too bad it was good and had all original parts. I felt so sorry that I did not have money to buy them and to save them. Wish I had that day I would have saved them and preserved them. Only I have a photo of those beetle cars one is navy blue and other was green.
She looks/ed great. You drove by a white FJ Troopy, now that's another great classic hard wearing vehicle. I still have one of those up at a mates property.
I just had a long ride in my own 68 Beetle. When I got back home I watch videos of other people driving their Beetle. I'm weird, or just hooked on VW's
Sadly in the UK getting an old cars is a bloody nightmare, have to stick with corsas and boring polos... I really wish I could get a classic car as my first, but insurance is just a joke.
Looks like German market and international market Beetles weren't required to have padded dashboards. The US market Beetles got padded dashboards and knobs starting in 1968.
I’m curious where you are located, because this bug has a 1967 dash, in 1968 their was black plastic padding on the dash. The sears also don’t appear to have the big built in headrests, and the 1500cc was engine from 1967, the 1300cc being a one year only feature of the 1966. I’m speaking of North American Beetles, so I am curious about this one, the steering is on the left side and I can’t place the countryside. Thanks.
No, the car is a 1968 year model - I had one and the interior looked just like this one. There were no plastic padding - and integrated headrests were introduced with 1969 year model. The engine on this year model was 1300 cc. I'm speaking of European Beetles, so apparently they did differ from North American ones.
@@Vinterfrid That’s why I asked where you were located, because North American Beetles in 1968 had the integrated headrests, they were huge and wide, it looked from behind like two nuns were in the front seats. It also had the padded dash (NA safety regs) and the 1500, 53hp engine that was introduced in ‘67. Your big sounds awesome.
@@IanForsythWestCoast I'm in Norway and I own a 69 with steel dash and low seats. I'm seen low seats on all european Beetles until they quit making them in Germany in 1979.
Nice man, my first car is also a bug but the one from 1969. There is one thing... you're driving very dangerous... it's just too fast man. The brakes in a car of that age are very bad. What would you do if someone behind the corner crossed your way at 2:30? It would be a shame to crash such a bug :/
Perhaps the pre 1966 Beetles were a little too slow, but only for the highway, although they can get up to highway speed and stay there all day. Beetles from 1966 onward had considerably more power than earlier ones, the 1967 getting the 1500cc making 53 hp which in a car under 1800lbs made it quite sprightly, particularly around town (actually even the early Beetles feel peppy around town because they’re geared quite low and can certainly get out of their own way. Late 60s and 70s Beetles feel great driving around town and can get up to 80mph on the highway, and because of their over-engineering their top speed is also their cruising speed, you can sail down the highway at 80 all day, I’ve done it. I’ve had a 64 sedan, 65 convertible, 67 sedan, 75 La Grande Bug SuperBeetle, 74 semi-automatic sedan w/sunroof, and a 71 411 .Loved em’all.
I’m 3 years late but I have a 1970 for my first car!! Love to see how everyone appreciates these cars
Damn, what a beauty!
When I’m 16 this is gonna be my car! I love 68’ VW Beetles, especially in Blue or Yellow.
My first car was/is (still have it :D) a 64 beetle. Really nice to drive and reliable, take good care of yours and it will take good care of you :)
I had forgotten how much fun to drive these things were! Thanks for the video.
wow that ride was awesome... good choice to buy a vw ur 1st car.. I hav a 56 n 66 usaully take it out on weekends. Always a pleasure driving them😚
It was handed down to me, but i did really like it!
That 56 must be nice!!!
i dont like lambo , Ferrari and other expensive cars i like Beetle (classic beetle)
I highly agree vw beetles are so cool.
Yeah dude😀🙌...Beetle are more reliable, simple, compact, dan fun...fun than a supercar that always make an accident...😂
@@edrawarwickshire3701 accidents are made by the people who cannot manage the hp... you can even crash on a vw bug if hoy can't drive it well.
I like super cars but let’s just say you should respect your elderly’s (meaning you have to call classic cars your favourite)
I still have a 1974 beetle and theyre alot, theyre very beautiful and drive amazing and feel good
thanks for the ride, i want to have a vw beetle, i hope one day i have and live a moment similar to the video.
I love this car. Can't wait to own one, I don't even need to twin turbo the car, its a beauty.
That was fun. I've been searching for a '68 myself.
Some very narrow roads! Beautiful car!!❤️

Get a Cortina!!!
@@akishot6735 Those are expensive AF, and pretty hard to find.
Although, admittedly, Ford Lotus Cortina's are one of my favorite cars.
Is insurance mandatory? If not, just run without it like we do here(Brasil)
@Dean Mit depends, if someone crashes in your car, probably he will pay, if you crash in another car, you are so fucked.
i love this car sooo much!
This is the best vw beetle ever 🙂

True. German/Euro market didn't have that until 1971. I have a 68 steel dash myself.
Loved it.
Ted Bundy brought me here 😂😂😂
Why?
@@ghefner6693 Ted Bundy used a Volkswagen Beetle without an interior passenger door handle to lure his victims before ultimately strangling them.

Nice car
What a work !
nice this is gonna be my first car very soon as well
cool video keep it up

I assure you it's not that sharp of a corner, the house on the right is inhabited and no one ever crosses there, don't worry :D
Nice first car!
God, how I miss that sound.
Is the clutch light or is it heavy on those?
Quite light
Nice
Nice I got 68 myself almost on the road
Is it true the Beetle is a "gas hog" compared to it's compact car competition in its day?
Got myself a -73 as my first car :)
Os Carochas são mesmo giros..
Belo primeiro carro 👍
+SuBarb Su Sim, foi muito porreiro de se ter :D
also my first car i drove it for the first time today

Ted Bundy taking you for a ride
Wow It has a passenger seat
hahahahhaha
and a handle🤯
I have from 1971
No whine, a hhh disappointing my Anglia screams in first 😂
Don't say beetle. No no no noooo .
ITS CALLED SUPER BEETLE ✔🇹🇿🎤 .
This is not Super Beetle. Super Beetle has a plastic dash and Mcpherson fron suspension.
Try driving a lifted 1970 f100 with a 390 and 33 inch tires, then we'll talk about fuel economy lol
9 highway maybe, probably more like 7
i hope you drive slowly 😲

Great car! But I don’t get these videos with no talking about the car. It’s like watching someone drive around.
That is POV point...as you were driving the car. I hate when people are commenting and I am skipping the videos. Except for RCR :)))
