Iirc the best way to get supplies for Jackdaw upgrades is sending your fleet on missions, you can do it in your captain's room on the ship if im not mistaken, you can get the ships you board into your fleet instead of repairing jackdaw, anyway, hope it helps, watching you play this game is a wonderful experience, i wish i could erase my memory so i could play it for the 1st time again, i hope i can finally catch your livestream and have a merry christmas :3 Edit: and i forgot, i believe you can sell the rum and sugar as it isn't needed for any upgrades so you can make some aditional money
