People still keep asking why I sunk most of the loot instead of selling it for myself. The simple answer is that it’s because it was an alliance server. It's like playing creative mode in Minecraft. If we sunk someone on the open seas it would be a different story, but none of that loot was really impressive. Who better to deliver it to than Davey Jones? Plus they sunk a bunch of their own loot by going into the Red Sea lol. There is no player progression in this game anyway and gold means nothing to us. We play the game for fun and for the content. I thought we made that clear when we dropped an Athena in a volcano lol.
Not to mention that it took us FOREVER just to load up that 300k+ loot haul onto our boat (and that alone is worth more than normal loot hauls we steal), especially on 400+ ping. If we wanted to load everything we would've wasted an eternity.

I don't even play Sea of Thieves, but my mouth watered seeing all that loot. The fact you sunk it all (I know the reason why) felt like a Joker move. "I'm only sinking my half. All you care about is loot. This sea deserves a better class of pirate. And I'm gonna give it to them."

When you’re given everything you want without working for it or having risks, it loses its value imo.
It’s like being given endgame loot in a game by another player you have no attachment to it because you didn’t suffer pain to earn it.

I'm new to Sea of thieves. It seems the general consensus is that people don't like alliance servers? Why is that? There's no actual game progress so it's not as if they're getting any real advantage over us.
@@Tjerty Because they are intentionally gaming the system to get 5/6 friendly ships on the same server, removing any and all danger and risk that normally comes with alliances and other players. Most of us just do not respect it as it goes against the spirit of the game.
@@ExileTwilight Lmao this is like people getting annoyed over someone when they pick SCAR in CSGO. Alliances are a part of the game and if the entire server is okay with it then why should people who arent doing it get triggered lol.
@@varun_j Your analogy is a bit off. A better one using CSGO would be if you got someone to join the other team and then TK until they left so you can get other friends to join that team and be able to set up "mad skillz" 50-0 K/D videos.
Because that's basically what Alliance Servers do a lot of the time. I'm not against Alliances, yes those are part of the game. But manipulating the random lobby joining and then bullying others into giving you their ships is not okay.
Alliance servers like in this video are not just random people who decided to all cooperate. It's a dedicated group who work to keep their "safe space" in this PvEvP pirate game.

I hate that server alliances are a thing. But the fact that it’s a world record attempt puts this alliance takedown in a grey area between right and wrong for me.

@@Nemesis2K if I may ask, why? To me it just seems like they want to stack loot and make a lot of gold and reputation, which I think is fair.
Mostly the fact the mass reporting of people doing PVP in these servers has resulted in bans. All the while the admins of the discords are profiting off of exclusive access to something they don’t own.

Me and my friends played for 17 hours straight I took a lot of brake’s (I have an eye condition) but we countinued and all together we covered every floor of a gallon in chest and like 200 skulls keep in mind my mate was the biggest tryhard ever

To be honest I view this sort of alliance server as an artist server. I can just imagine how much time it took to place all those skulls and chests like that.
The fact that so many people are mad about this is so stupid. All you miss out on is some cosmetics. If you get angry at this video, just think of it as a sacrifice to the whale lord

@@loungegod Eh not really. The person in question was massive on PvP. The rival guild who crashed the funeral knew that too, the person in question was extremely well known. So what better way to have a memory of someone other than a memorial followed by a mass scale PvP fight. And people still talk about it to this day. Imagine if the raid hadn't happened, the memory might've been lost to time already.
Obviously the ones holding the memorial didn't know about this plan. But honestly, it worked out for the best. And don't think the player in question would've asked for anything different.
Was it an asshole move? Sure, it was. But it's one that made it memorable, and ensured the memory of the player wasn't lost.

Alliance servers are so dumb, completely defeats the point of Emissary leaderboards for one and requires no effort or skill, I wish Rare would do more to stop this kind of thing from happening >,

they were doing something that rare actively states they do not want people doing in the game

the code of conduct actually states "Activities such as teaming or boosting to gain an advantage over other players in competitive game modes may also result in enforcement action"
by teaming they clearly dont mean just using the alliance system as it was intended, but through other means such as these people using a discord to actively take over a server, and boosting is the obvious thing they are teaming for
They need to do something about alliances. Either make alliances a maximum of 3 ships, or make it so that the more ships there are in an alliance, the less gold and rep is shared.
With or without an alliance, taking over a server will still be OP and takes all the good PVEers away from normal servers 🙃
@@Noobface Yeah I rarely find people that are actually ever good at pve, its always just people that run and all they have is a decorative coffer. I just stick to my naval tournaments and tdms for pvp lol.

Sea of thieves really need to start a hall of fame somewhere in the map that shows people who did the impossible and hardest things
Check out the "Legends of the Sea" commendations, they aren't all in one place but it pays homage to early pirates that achieved amazing things.

Athena's Vanguard also had a bigger haul (and this was before all the easy ways to get loot) but they took a lot longer than 24 hours.
This haul is definitely more impressive than either of them though considering they had mostly sloops, plus you can only have 5 ships now and back then you could have 6. But even then, a ship stacking and defending the FOTD still outshines this. If there's no one to defend the loot from then it's not as impressive. That's where we come in 😎
