  • Sewer line repaired and returned to normal operation
Pinellas County Utilities crews have repaired the wastewater pipe on 62nd Avenue North in St. Petersburg that was leaking from Sept. 27 to 30. The repair was completed on Saturday, Oct. 4, and the sewer line has now returned to normal operation.
Crews are working to fill in the ground around the pipe and restore the disturbed properties and right of way.
All precautionary notices related to contact with area waters in northern Boca Ciega Bay, Cross Bayou and Long Bayou following the sewer leak have been lifted.
The main sewer line at 7780 62nd Ave. N., which carries wastewater to the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility, ruptured Saturday, Sept. 27 at approximately 11:30 p.m. Crews stopped the flow of wastewater from the leak on Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Sewer service for utilities customers was not affected by this sewer line break.
