Hi Rick: I owned a bicycle shop for 11 years and I have to say that evert one should learn how to use the front brake all the time whether or not you are going a down hill. 70% of your braking power is in the front brake. It is best to learn to squeeze slowly and gently and gradually tighten your grip on the lever. I also ride motorcycles and the rule is still the same. Also on Motorcycles the front brake lever is on the right so if you use both bicycles and motorcycles it is best to have both front brake levers on the right. That so you will not get confused if you are switching back and forth.
Absolutely right. If you ride a motorcycle year round you learn this right away. Ease on in the curve but that front wheel is your best friend when some one decides turn signals aren't something that they ever bother to use 😢

Nice comprehensive review. This ebike has some features that I'd like to combine with my lectric brand ebike. Hi there - interesting about the front brake being on right side of handlebars - just an fyi - that is where the front brake is on motorcycles so actually I like it there! - have great day!
Just when I was almost sold on a Rad Mini..you had to muddy my mind, lol.... Enjoyed your review and it looks interesting. LONG range and powerful. Load capacity has the Rad beat too.. Did Linda get a Fiido too ?. I hope she didn't take a fall.as you mentioned she "didn't do so well". You should group all your Ebike videos in a playlist so we can review them together for comparison. Keep the fun trips coming. Thanks for the fun video trip footage too.
Good idea on the playlist, David. The RadMini has a serious design flaw that caused Linda's accident and I'll have a video up on it in a couple of days.
This bike won't adjust for Linda. She's 4'11" tall, we had to look for a smaller size ebike for her. She's home, surgery done and keeping her ankle immobilized and elevated. Thanks, Babcia Tori.
So after a year what do you think of your Fiido? I am giving some very serious consideration of getting one. I have two issues and they are with any eBike, the first is the frequency of battery replacement and its cost ($650 for the T1 + freight), the second, and I just read this today (8/4/23) on the Fiido website, that motors will last 500 hours, 1 hour a day for two years. they list a motor for every bike but I didn't see one for the T1. Perhaps a follow review video?... Happy trails.
I actually live in central Montana and the Fiido is still a favorite ebike. i use it several times a week for errands around town and I still take it camping on occasion. I don't have any idea as to the longevity of the motor, but many people have gotten thousands of miles on their ebikes and are still going strong. Also, Fiido is one of the older companies out there, so parts should be easy to get. I expect to get 10 years from my battery with proper care. Don't charge it when it's warm (after a ride) and, if you are storing the battery for a long time, make sure it's between 60-80% charge and not full. My friend rides his T1 all the time in rough conditions without any problems. The only problem that I see on ebikes is electrical connections that may cause intermittent problems until you chase them down.
Hello Don, the best way is to just use the 110 volt charging brick that came with the ebike and plug it into an inverter. I know that there is a power loss doing it that way, but at least the battery is properly protected. That being said, you can purchase an adjustable voltage MPPT controller thru Amazon that allows you to match the bike's battery voltage and connect that directly to a solar panel. There are a few YT videos on how to do that.
You're collecting quite an assortment of e-bikes. I like your reviews of the bikes and also the scenery of where you are riding them. A question I have for you would be when you were out somewhere and you stopped to go exploring, what do you think is the best way to secure the bike?
Hello Kyle! Usually at that places where I explore there aren't any people around, so I don't worry to much, but I bought a U lock for those times when I think I might need it. Just buy the best one of those that you can afford and also remove the battery and take it with you whenever possible. The battery is expensive and the bike is useless without it, making it kind of less attractive to a thief.
On motorcycles the right lever is always for the front wheel, so Fiido set it up like that. We who are used to riding motorcycles like that because that's what we're used to. For bicycles it's opposite. This guy is a bicycle guy so he changed it. .
This bike is really great and I like how the tires aren’t huge like traditional bikes. They’re wide tires but the overall structure will fit better in apartments, don’t have huge tires taking up so much room.
@@gonagain Thank you, I enquired with Fiido and they said it will be available in the UK in march/April of this year, thank you for helping me to find my next e bike :)
I’m a little bit bummed out that this looks JUST like a Radrunner, same exact model, even the same color. But...I understand this kind of model is incredibly sought after, since it has a very military like design to it. Thanks for the video!
Rad Runner wasn't the first with this design either. This just happens to be a good design for a utility bike. One outstanding feature of the T1 Cargo is the much lower, rear rack, which greatly improves stability. That's noticeable when you're carrying a load and, almost, tip the bike over. The effort to bring the bike back up is a lot less. Add to that the fact that the T1 Cargo has trouble free mag wheels instead of spokes, larger tires, bigger battery, 7 speed gearing compared to the RadRunner2 single speed and has a front rack included says that the only similarity is the olive drab military color, which has been around since WW2.
@@gonagain That's true, maybe I was being a tad harsh. It is such an impressive look on any utility ebike/bike. It reminds me of the Great Escape movie featuring Steve Mcqueen, and that amazing bike he road off with. Thanks for clarifying keeping in mind the possible origins of this kind of ebike, I was a tad passionate. Great video by the way! :)
Hi Rick. I believe I think, I know the location where you are riding. But then again Thousands of acres look similar in the desert. Gee, I want one of these E-Bikes and for sure I will have one soon, just need to know who is the 'best on the block' with certain features. Love the Real-Seat, not a banana to straddle, that's a must. Swapping out the tires No big deal. I'll have to do some homework but this one seems Tops so far.---(is Linda ok?? someone mentioned something, we Hope she is All Right) Looks like you Found the Sun. Az., Most likely. Stay Safe as Always, and God Bless. (Not ready for a helmet just yet, I will stick with my Aussy Hats)🤠👍
Brilliant video 😎 The problem with fat bike tires is that when you get a puncture the tyre falls off the rim, You will definitely fall off the bike😢 My son had a serious accident because of that, I have Fiido L3 350w with 23.2ah Battery, 50mls range using throttle I'm wondering if my L3 battery would fit that so I could carry another one with me 🤔
She's doing okay, just trying to keep that ankle elevated. Thanks to everyone who sent good wishes and prayers, she feels like it's going to heal quickly.
This bike looks to have seat and handlebar adjustments to your knees, back and arms will not be as stressed as other bikes. That makes it a worthy ride.
Looks like a well thought out design for a e bike ! I’m seeing more and more e bikes on the rail trails. Less people peddling. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or not ? 🤔 Thanks for the review Rick .
@@gonagain Well, I agree but don’t agree . I think it depends on the level of exercise. We ride most days 30 to 45 miles. That’s peddling! I guess it depends on many factors for different people. 🤔

I like the T1 I’m not a fan of these step through frames though I’ve seen a few crashes where the frame totally snapped.
Hi there, thanks for the video, I would like to order this bike too, but I wondered, if you happen to find obstacles along your path, for example some steps, can you lift it and go further or is it too heavy? Thanks
Great review. We're heading out your way in the summer - maybe we'll get a pair before we come out. Hey, wanna do collaboration when we come out there? We can call it East meets West - A tale of two Ricks! LOL. Hope LInda is doing okay.
Hi, great video and thanks for all the tips. I bought as well this bike for my wife, she is very happy about it however, I'm looking for foot peg that would be compatible with it. With the rear hub it's not easy as you have the cable. Any ideas?
You mean footpegs for a rear passenger? I'd look for the ones used on motorcycles and find a pair that looks like they will fit. The cable can be routed over the footpeg mounting strap I think.
Well I can not get the battery out. Like stuck. I turn it on. It stays on for a second. then off. any thoughts on this. Please let me know. Again thanks.
Geez, that looks like a really ROUGH ride on those rocks. Just watching the handlebar go crazy with vibration makes me wonder if this e-bike is really made for trails.
Great review - might anyone know when the new display in mph will be available, and if it will be able to be swapped out with the existing display on the user end? Very interested
I just got one and they made the brakes standard now and the display is bright. My one concern was I am only 5 feet 8 and have a 30 inseam. Will I be able to ride it safely. I mean can I touch the ground. Flat footed?
Hello Raphael. No, it's ok on the structure of the bike and you ride over the rough places by raising yourself off of the seat slightly. A rear shock is more for the handling (stability and tracking) when you're riding really rough trails.
It sounds like the charger thinks that the battery is fully charged. First of all, check and make sure that the electrical contacts on the bottom of the battery and on the frame of the bike are clean and making a good contact and try installing the battery again. Maybe it's fully charged and is just not making a good contact. If that doesn't work then contact Fiido for more information: support@fiido.com; Please include following information: Platform of the purchase, such as fiido.com, Amazon, Brand Store, etc. (If purchased on Amazon, Please also include the seller name on your order) Order number/ID/Date The email and shipping address you used when placed order Pictures/Short videos of the problems and a brief description of the problems Please contact us and get our written approval before sending any item back. Hello. I liked your review. I have a couple of questions. How hard is it to fix a flat tire on the rear hub? Have you ever had to do that? Would this bike carrry a 275 lb rider? Thanks
Yes, it will handle a 275lb rider and whereas I haven't done a flat tire on the rear, it should be a very straightforward job. I will have a video coming out soon on doing a flat tire repair.
I am considering buying one of these but I am concerned. There was a recall and people who returned their t1’s received a replacement bike that had 250w stamped on the motor instead of 750w. The company states it is a misprint and the motor is still 750w. Has anyone received a replacement bike that says 250w on the motor and if so how does the replacement bike compare to the original t1?
The motor is stamped 250w so that's it's legal in Europe, by it's a 750w motor. The new bike is stronger and the new hydraulic brakes are really nice. It's smoother when starting out from a stop compared to the original. The pedal assist works up to 14mph and after that the throttle will take it up to 24mph. It's still a great bike.
I love my T1. I received the new one and I did switch over the components from my old one to the new one so that I retained the higher speed, but it really isn't necessary because I just don't go that fast! Besides that, the speed limit for ebikes in my state is 20mph. The new T1 is much smoother in pedal assist, without the jerkiness of the original.
Hello Gerry, first flip the seat up by uding the lever under the rear side of the seat. Then, push the key "in" and turn it to the left (counter clockwise) until it stops. After that you can give the battery a good tug straight up and it should come out.
@@gonagain That sucks I need a ebike with all the accessories options of the radrunner with the power of the fido t1 especially cruise control. I wish every ebike company has a radrunner style bike.
Before i ask any questions about the bike, how is linda? Is the pedal placement odd looks like it would be back to far? Also, can u replace the seat easily. I have a "favorite" bike seat.
Hello Samantha, Linda is doing just fine after her surgery. The pedals seem to be placed fine and I don't feel anything odd about them, they're about the same as my other bikes. The seat is easily replaceable also.
How difficult would it be to Modify this bike so it has the same 750W motor and wheel on the front fork? Should be easy enough to find a place for the second ESC and battery somewhere. This would be the perfect bike for me, but I live in Hilly Wales and want to climb mountains efficiently, so the single 750W motor would not be running in its efficient speed range up steep hills.
I've seen bikes that have two motors and batteries installed on them, so the technology is out there! You would need a new front wheel as well to allow for the bigger hub of the motor.
@@gonagain Another possibility would be a small MidDrive kit like a BBS01 with the motor rotated upwards into the gap above the crank, between the Lower tube of the frame and the crossbar. Could you please measure the size of that gap on your bike for me?
I just ordered mine. I will compare it with the MX02S I use daily. Whichever I like best I will keep. I can't fault the MX02S except that its a dashing full-bloodied experience. You don't always want that around town. So we'll see. Also I value a better centre of gravity bike as the one I have can be a bit top-heavy on a fast round-about with all the traffic etc. The smaller wheels if the T1 might give an advantage.
So I got the T1 delivered and I have a question about the battery. Check what it says on the side of the battery. Some batteries say - 2170 cells(4000mA). But the one I got says 18650 cells (2600mA). So I was a bit disappointed to see this. The bike was limited to 25 Km but it was easy to disable this. I find it goes to 37kmh(23mph) which is fine. Its very lively but nowhere near the 31mph. So I think they are supplying 2 types of batteries.. The other thing is the range. I measured the voltage - it went from 71% to 37 over about 6/7 miles. I will test more but there is no way this battery is giving 50miles per charge. I would say 30 miles. The bike weight 66lbs with no battery and 79lbs with the battery. btw my display is brightened - no problem seeing it in sunshine. So they have obviously cured that. Its really lovely to buzz around in. Also, I am having difficulty mounting carrier bags as the clamps for quick release are too small.
I just checked my battery and it does have the 21700 cells, 48 volt, 20AH. Does the new display let you get into the "P" settings? If so, try setting the max speed to 50 and not 100 (it's not an mph setting) because 50 is what usually unlocks the speed on other ebikes. They're sending me the new display, but I haven't received it yet.
Steve, I highly recommend that you contact Fiido about your concerns. As for the speed, they may have limited it because of U.S. speed regulations for Class 3 ebikes, where you're allowed to reach 28mph with pedal assist and not just throttle. My bike is an early prototype, and they evidently made some changes to it.
@@gonagain The way I unlocked the speed was to hold both brakes, full throttle and turn on at the same time. This causes a flashing "D2" display. After 5 secs let go of everything and that did it. But I have not seen any secondary menus - how do you get it on yours?
That is an innovative placement of the battery, the ergonomic setup of the whole bike is spot on!
I like the wide step-thru and the fact that it comes with everything.
Mine also has it in the same position, some other step thru bikes put the battery and the water cage in the step thru area, basically making it unusable as a step thru.

Rick any thoughts on charging battery with solar. Or 12 volt like from a vehicle
Have you encountered goat heads with those tires
Excellent review thanks from uk regards Ian (stay safe)
Can Linda ride it,it looks to be a smaller frame than the other one?
The seat doesn't go quite low enough for the munchkin to ride it comfortably.
On motorcycles the right lever is always for the front wheel, so Fiido set it up like that. We who are used to riding motorcycles like that because that's what we're used to. For bicycles it's opposite. This guy is a bicycle guy so he changed it. .
Great bike for this senior to ride old mining roads in the Mojave National Preserve. Very informative review!
It sure is!
This bike is really great and I like how the tires aren’t huge like traditional bikes. They’re wide tires but the overall structure will fit better in apartments, don’t have huge tires taking up so much room.
Nice review Sir, we need more reviews like this ⚙️
More to come!
Very good review and nice information 👍. Best of luck to you and your channel.
I appreciate that, thank you.
Nice review. Is it a cadence sensor or a torque sensor. I ask as I have a bad leg and sometimes struggle with torque sensor ebikes.
Hello, Paul, this one has a cadence sensor.
@@gonagain Thank you, I enquired with Fiido and they said it will be available in the UK in march/April of this year, thank you for helping me to find my next e bike :)
Great Review, Perfect for what I need, just need to get one now 🤓
Excellent review!
Thank you kindly!
Wow! Some battery specs and range. Impressive. Not a good display, though. Ought to gave AT type tread on tires, too.
@@1398go, What a great movie that was! I still drool when I look at motorcycles.
Adjustable seat height is a must vs the fixed seat for sure..

Enjoy riding it, Konrad!
Brilliant video 😎
The problem with fat bike tires is that when you get a puncture the tyre falls off the rim, You will definitely fall off the bike😢
My son had a serious accident because of that,
I have Fiido L3 350w
with 23.2ah Battery,
50mls range using throttle
I'm wondering if my L3 battery would fit that
so I could carry another one with me 🤔
I'd ask Fiido about that, because that would be handy. I run Flatout in my tires.
Really endearing. I love the colour and its utility aspect.
I want one, will it fit a 6’ 3 “ man with 36 inch inseam☮️🌵
Yes, it would work just fine.
Heck with the bike How’s Linda
She's doing fine after yesterday's surgery. 6 weeks and we're outta here again!
Very practical versatile bike that will hopefully make it to Australia.
Thx for the vid, enjoyed it, hope linda's doing better.
The adult comfort needs designed in! Love it.
Looks like a well thought out design for a e bike ! I’m seeing more and more e bikes on the rail trails. Less people peddling. I’m not sure if that is a good thing or not ? 🤔 Thanks for the review Rick .
I guarantee that you still get your exercise, you just go further and faster while doing it! Like being able to go all the way to the donut shop...
@@gonagain
Well, I agree but don’t agree . I think it depends on the level of exercise. We ride most days 30 to 45 miles. That’s peddling! I guess it depends on many factors for different people. 🤔

Good video 😎
Nice bike, I'm wondering if the battery from the L3
Will fit it 🤔
Then I would have a spare battery to take with me 😀
I don't know, but that would be great if it did.
The M340's intuitive interface and user-friendly controls make it easy to operate, even for beginners.
5:39 Is this why I dumped a motorbike ...? The RIGHT is the Front on a Motorbike.
I have been riding all kinds of bicycles for many years; Road, racing, Mt-bike..... then I got a motorbike and dang, That Right brake did me in...
Oh, that's right! Clutch on the left.
Fiido are a pretty good company I’ve had a few bikes from them. Customer service and parts I’ve had good exp from them. I got the M21 atm and had D4S originally I gave to my mother both been reliable. I like the T1 I’m not a fan of these step through frames though I’ve seen a few crashes where the frame totally snapped.
Love the review and the bike, guess I missed the price point? Thanks
That looks more like YOU / r style! GOGO Riding! HOW IS YOUR KNEE???
My knee is ok as long as I keep weight on it. Meaning not using toe clips or bending down, etc.
Very thorough review! Do you know if you're able to install the headlight without having to install the front basket?
Yes, there would be a way to do that.
Hi there, thanks for the video, I would like to order this bike too, but I wondered, if you happen to find obstacles along your path, for example some steps, can you lift it and go further or is it too heavy? Thanks
The bike itself weighs 79 pounds.
I have tried and I can,t seem to get through.
Great review. We're heading out your way in the summer - maybe we'll get a pair before we come out. Hey, wanna do collaboration when we come out there? We can call it East meets West - A tale of two Ricks! LOL. Hope LInda is doing okay.
Of course we can, if we can make it work! Linda is doing fine and recovering from her surgery.
Loved your video. Can you please explain how to unlock speed ? Thanks
There are videos on RUclips that show you how and that would be better than me trying to explain it. One video is worth a thousand words!
Yeah that's the bike I want it's perfect.
Well I can not get the battery out. Like stuck. I turn it on. It stays on for a second. then off. any thoughts on this. Please let me know. Again thanks.
This would be easier if you enail us. Please email us at: gonagain21@gmail.com.
Geez, that looks like a really ROUGH ride on those rocks. Just watching the handlebar go crazy with vibration makes me wonder if this e-bike is really made for trails.
Yeah, with it's fat tires it's actually pretty stable. I had too much air in them that day too, so that didn't help.
There is no bike made to handle rocky desert trails like these... Just go slowly, hold on tightly and mod the tubes.
Great review - might anyone know when the new display in mph will be available, and if it will be able to be swapped out with the existing display on the user end? Very interested
They had one that is in mph but the display was dim so they are working on fixing that. I'm not sure when that one will be out.
I have ordered from Fiido. It will dispatch in April 2022 to UK
did you order the off road 750w version which is limited to 15mph? or the euro standard 250w version?
I just got one and they made the brakes standard now and the display is bright. My one concern was I am only 5 feet 8 and have a 30 inseam. Will I be able to ride it safely. I mean can I touch the ground. Flat footed?
You should be fine. Our friend who rides with me is 5'8".
Hello , I wanted to know if no shock absorber at the back (except sit) is a problem for the structure and the wheel ?
Hello Raphael. No, it's ok on the structure of the bike and you ride over the rough places by raising yourself off of the seat slightly. A rear shock is more for the handling (stability and tracking) when you're riding really rough trails.
Ok, thanks for your informations
I put it on the charger. But the controller that makes it work will not stay on. I have the one that came with it. Can you help me out.
It sounds like the charger thinks that the battery is fully charged. First of all, check and make sure that the electrical contacts on the bottom of the battery and on the frame of the bike are clean and making a good contact and try installing the battery again. Maybe it's fully charged and is just not making a good contact. If that doesn't work then contact Fiido for more information:

Have you ever did the speed unlock. I did and wow.
Yes, the original is a fast bike!
@Gonagain May i ask how tall you are? Im 180cm (5.9ft) and i wonder if it will fit well since it looks quiet small. Thanks in advance 👍
I'm 5'11" and I think it will fit you just fine.
@@gonagain Thank you
man that looks incredible
Looks like my back yard, are you in Arizona? Love the way that bike handles the desert roads.
We were in Arizona and that was off of Route 66, just north of Golden Shores.
@@gonagain Thank you for such a fast response! I trust your feedback. Hope you are out enjoying some nice place!
I will wait for you tell me how to get the battery out. Thank you.
Hello Gerry, first flip the seat up by uding the lever under the rear side of the seat. Then, push the key "in" and turn it to the left (counter clockwise) until it stops. After that you can give the battery a good tug straight up and it should come out.
It appears that the “springs in the seat post”, are actually under the seat, not in the seat post?
Hello Jack. No, there's a spring that's actually in the seat post that takes out the jolts. It isn't much, but it certainly helps.
@@gonagain Helps to prevent spinal compression.
Is it possible to leave off the front basket and attach the headlight straight to the bike?
Yes, you can do that.
Bike looks perfect 👌 but what about passenger riding? Is there foot pegs for extra rider and plastic guards to protect your feet ?
No, there are no foot pegs for a passenger or plastic guards.
@@gonagain
So glad Linda is doing well. Thanks for the information.
30 mph? That’s really moving! Nice range too.👍🏻
That is for a bike over 80lbs in weight very impressive. Even if you get 25mph out of it. This is like a bigger version of their little dynamo the L3.
@@fender1000100
I've got one of the L3
Is it the same battery so L3 battery can be used as a spare 🤔
@@niteblaster1 the L3 battery is about an inch longer than the T1....you can adjust to the rail for that battery and the extra 3ah.
Your MX02S looks like a great bike, but you may prefer the T1 Cargo around town better.
How much does it weigh? Would it be easy to put on an RV bike rack?
Hello Jo, it weighs 82lbs and would need an ebike rack that's rated for the weight.
@@gonagain Thank you!
Have you ever had a problem with the frame of your T1. Or a recall. I have never had one.
They had a recall on the frames and sent everyone a brand new bike. No problems now and a great company.
Hi. I let my battery go dead. I put it on the charger. How long will it charge up.
If it's totally dead, it could take up to 8 hours to fully recharge.
How is it on hills? I find the Rad Runner I have pretty lacking.
This one is pretty good on hills and a little better than my others. It's definitely faster on level ground.
Does it have a throttle-only mode, or only pedal assist?
It also has throttle only.
