The Bismarck's Arado spotter floatplane was loaded with the crew's final letters home, but it couldn't launch because of a problem with the battleship's catapult. Even the small comfort of a last word to their families was denied the crew at the end.

L’U556 era in zona e assistette alla scena, il comandante dell’U-boot aveva avuto un legame speciale con il capitano Lindeman e la Bismarck, e aveva fatto giuramento di proteggere la corazzata qualunque cosa fosse successa, ma purtroppo avevano finito i siluri. Il comandante del sottomarino tedesco optava per salire in superficie e colpire la portaerei Ark Royal con il cannone posizionato nella parte alta, ma così avrebbe messo in pericolo il suo equipaggio. I like how at 2:00 you also see the secondary batteries shooting at the planes flying too low for the AA
It was recorded in the military journals that Ark Royal lost over half her fighter from poor weather alone, researchers did perform a sonar scan of the wreck and found no damage from the torpedo strikes, dents yes but the armor did not give in, it helps up despite 20 or strikes at it
During her last stand, the main or secondary guns caused a detonation from shrapnel on Rodney & Nelson torpedo tubes, causing one to detonate, Rodney also suffered damage on her radar dish from the near-miss of the Bismarcks shell, similar to a human ear rupture from large sound
Her main guns did strike the bow of King George the V and seem have to cause her to have slight tilt in the water while also upsetting her primary turret actuators,
