3:01 The Judge: *in a friendly mood* Hi! I'm the judge, thats a burrito. Wassup guys? ~Two seasons laters~ The Judge: *annoyed for the tone of Eleanor*
I absolutely adore the fact that, in her last scene, Tahani is wearing Michael's bow-tie from the first episode, signifying her carrying on the group's legacy whilst the rest go their separate ways. So much thought was put into every episode of this wonderful show, we truly didn't deserve it
this was one of the very few shows that after I watched the ending, I thought, that works. In my mind I had a slightly different ending, and that was Eleanor taking Michael's place as the person in charge. But this was a good ending. The characters felt complete when they decided to walk into the forest, and I felt good as to how to show ended. So they really cinched it.
Jason: > Casually waits anywhere from years to eons just to have one last goodbye with his not-girlfriend > Reveals that he pretty much meditated to enlightenment during that time > Refuses to elaborate > Leaves
Jason gave me the most surprises - from “Ive been waiting for you” to “she always says not a girl” to “Janet I’ve been waiting for you”. When he came out from behind that tree I lost it. I wish my loved ones could come back to me just like that.
But also - Jason in the beginning seeks out Eleanor because he can't help but speak, as he is driven by impulse. Jason at the end has transcended impulse. Honestly, he'd have made a good monk.
Probably, the best piece of comedy/drama I will ever see in my life, before, I myself, go to, ‘The Good Place’. I’m so glad this show contained such a feel-good factor for so many of us. “Well done!” to Mike Schur and the team.
Realizing Chidi walks in through a door to greet Eleanor, his soulmate, and then walks out through a door to leave his soulmate. So many nice touches. What a great show.
Michael's last line still has me reeling. In season one, he tells Tahani all the 'human things' he wanted to do. To eat a saltine; to walk by someone in the hallway then lean one way, then the other, then laugh a little; and to say "take it sleazy." Tahani tries to prompt him to say it, but as part of the torture, he doesn't. In season two he specifically says that "a lie that's closer to the truth works better", so we can know that he truly meant that. We even learn later in that season that he really DID want to get closer to humans when they dub him an "honorary human" and give him a human kit. And even on earth, in season three, he experiences a lot more human things. It influences so many of his decisions. And finally, when he really does get to live life as a human, he gets to say it. For real, this time. He could've just as easily said it in season one, at his 'retirement party', but he doesn't. It's such a well-done ending and I love it so, so much. Thank you so much to the writers for making this such an amazing show.
Chidi's last words were "I'm ready". Not "I think I'm ready", not "I don't know if I'm ready", but "I'm ready" in the most assured, decided and content tone. Now that's how you do character development. I'm not crying, you're crying.
I love how Tahani has always felt like she hasnt done much on Earth and in the fake Good Place because all she did was throw parties and be a hostess, and at the end she became an architect in the afterlife, one of the most important jobs in the universe
Literally binged watch the show while in quarantine. Everyone who’s not sure to give this a go I’m telling this right now THIS SHOW IS FORKING AMAZING.....
I just realized "I have other people to attend to" from Michael when he introduces Chidi is a lie to convince them that the neighborhood isn't just the four of them.
Wait so you know mindy and how everyone had gone to the bad place for the last 500 years? Well she went to the medium place, so that means she was the best person in over 500 years.....
I don't think she was. I think the Bad Place went into arbitration on her too early, and so didn't actually tally her up. They were just scared she'd have enough without actually finding out.
It’s been mentioned that medium places are created for individuals, so maybe there are multiple Mindys, just never in the same place. Though it must be something special since Mindy stood out so much
This is honestly Michael's and Eleanors story they both improves the most for the group. Lastly Michael's first ams last words was the good place Hello come on in viewers Take it sleazy viewers
Honestly was legit crying during the last episode. It was so well executed and really did tie everything up. I was sobbing so hard and it was honestly the best ending to a show I could have asked for.
Just finished the series and wow, the idea of that voice inside your head being the people who passed over is such a beautiful interpretation. And the way it was already introduced by eleanor before where she mentions the little voice inside her head that tells her to do the right thing and then it comes back as the final destination for the ending. Just fantastic stuff.
I was hoping someone would make this exact video! I was wondering the other day what each character's first and last lines on this show were, and I could only think of Michael's.
I wish I could rewind time and watch this show for the first time again tbh. I still enjoy it but nothing beats the first watch through of this show. It's amazing
just came here right after i finally finished the show, three jeremy bearimys later and i just have to say, this is the best forking show I've ever watched and they nailed the ending.
It won't work for her if she did go through it as she isn't a human, the only way she could go through it is if she became a human, died, makes it to the good place and then eventually when she is ready to she can then go through it.
I knew that. If the arch wouldn’t make Micheal disappear it makes sense that Janet wouldn’t either. My point was that with Jason gone and her being the most advanced model of her kind, she would start to feel lonely or depressed. Everyone around her will slowly disappear from her life yet she will remain. Then again she could just ask to be bubbled
@@PurpledaisyShasta she said that she doesn't experience time the same way and instead experiences the past and present at the same time, so to her they aren't really gone but part of me does think that she was saying that so that jason wouldn't worry and stay for her. Who knows maybe she will go through the process one day but she isn't a person it's hard to tell how she would react over time.
@@PurpledaisyShasta part of me was thinking that she was when she said it but it is hard to know with janet considering that she experinces things so differently to humans.
Michael is such a bookend. From another point of view it could’ve been a story about a demon becoming a real man. He begins by opening the door, and ends by closing one
of the first line/last line videos I've seen for a few different shows this one is by far the most revealing of the characters and their development. I think it really shows how brilliant and compact the writing on the good place is. Barely a word is wasted across the whole series, and the characters were so complete, in focus, just, I don't know, lived in from the moment they showed up on the screen.
Tahani was my favorite of the 4 humans and 2nd favorite of the main 6 so I’m so glad she didn’t basically die forever and found a purpose that I can relate to.
Ok this didn't go exactly to plan. Consider this re-edit a good video, and the old one a *bad* video.

Chidi Anna Kendrick...... Sounds legit
Did anyone else just hurt for Janet? She almost starts crying when Michael leaves and has to watch all of these people who changed her life disappear for eternity. 😭😭😭😭😭
I cried on her behalf 😅
Well Janet doesn't really experience the loss and time cuz when she thinks of them she experiences her reliving memories of them and thus doesn't lose them in her not-mind
Agreed.
3:01 The Judge: *in a friendly mood* Hi! I'm the judge, thats a burrito. Wassup guys?
~Two seasons laters~
The Judge: *annoyed for the tone of Eleanor*
I absolutely adore the fact that, in her last scene, Tahani is wearing Michael's bow-tie from the first episode, signifying her carrying on the group's legacy whilst the rest go their separate ways. So much thought was put into every episode of this wonderful show, we truly didn't deserve it
Shawn's last line was "Shut up Glenn" haha that's amazing
I read your comment the same time he said "shut up glenn"
The growth. The FORKING GROWTH. It's unbelievably good. I love this show.
this was one of the very few shows that after I watched the ending, I thought, that works. In my mind I had a slightly different ending, and that was Eleanor taking Michael's place as the person in charge. But this was a good ending. The characters felt complete when they decided to walk into the forest, and I felt good as to how to show ended. So they really cinched it.
Jason:
> Casually waits anywhere from years to eons just to have one last goodbye with his not-girlfriend
> Reveals that he pretty much meditated to enlightenment during that time
> Refuses to elaborate
> Leaves
the ending made me cry so much at how willingly they chose to disappear when they’ve spent years trying to get into the good place
They spent centuries in the good place.
Jason gave me the most surprises - from “Ive been waiting for you” to “she always says not a girl” to “Janet I’ve been waiting for you”. When he came out from behind that tree I lost it. I wish my loved ones could come back to me just like that.
Jason in the beginning: Waits for Eleanor
Jason in the end: Waits for Janet
But also - Jason in the beginning seeks out Eleanor because he can't help but speak, as he is driven by impulse. Jason at the end has transcended impulse. Honestly, he'd have made a good monk.
He also is telling Chidi to wait for him sorta
Did "Chidi wait up" make anyone else cry?
Just me?
That's fine.
"Take it sleazy"
I'm not crying, you're crying😭
Probably, the best piece of comedy/drama I will ever see in my life, before, I myself, go to, ‘The Good Place’. I’m so glad this show contained such a feel-good factor for so many of us. “Well done!” to Mike Schur and the team.
Eleanor’s last word to Chidi “say goodbye to me now and leave before i wake up” 🥺🥺🥺 i am weak
i just finished watching the finale and i am not okay. i might have cried myself into dehydration
Chidi's first word: "Eleanor"
Chidi's last words: "I'm ready"
holy shirt didn't think it would be this forking emotional
I love how Tahani has always felt like she hasnt done much on Earth and in the fake Good Place because all she did was throw parties and be a hostess, and at the end she became an architect in the afterlife, one of the most important jobs in the universe
I knew the characters had a lot of growth but damn watching this made me realise how much they all changed for the better
@roguishpaladin Huh?
It’s been mentioned that medium places are created for individuals, so maybe there are multiple Mindys, just never in the same place. Though it must be something special since Mindy stood out so much
@@c.shadou1897 ah ok
When Tahani is saying her last line she's wearing the bowtie Michael was wearing during *her* first line
This is honestly Michael's and Eleanors story they both improves the most for the group. Lastly Michael's first ams last words was the good place
Hello come on in viewers
Take it sleazy viewers
It's sad to think that Michael's first words are him opening the door and the end is him closing it
I didn't notice this Wow
Book ends.
Honestly was legit crying during the last episode. It was so well executed and really did tie everything up. I was sobbing so hard and it was honestly the best ending to a show I could have asked for.
"Take it sleazy" is the most Iconic line of the good place along with "Not a girl"
The last episode was really moving and the perfect ending.
The fact that Shawn’s final line is “shut up Glenn” is 👌
What an underrated show. Love it.
I have had “the heat death of the universe” in my head for weeks, thanks to Derek
I love that Jason's last words were "Wait up Chidi!" that's just so him 😂
Even she isn’t part of the main cast, the judge is my favourite character! She’s so forkin funny
“Your tone... it’s your tone.” 😂😂😂
The end is just perfect. I cried a little too much.
I was hoping someone would make this exact video! I was wondering the other day what each character's first and last lines on this show were, and I could only think of Michael's.
The final episode was FANTASTIC. Just finished my rewatch of the show and I had forgotten how much I loved it. Beautiful show man.
Look at Michael's bowtie and then Tahani's!
He gave it to her when she said that she wanted to be an architect, remember?
@@PL-me1mx ... yes? I'm just mentioning the connection.
I don't understand why nobody noticed this??? That was legit the entire significance of Michael giving Tahani the tie!
The way Michael said the first line of the show and the last is the best thing ever
Eleanor: You talk now?
Poe: THEY TALK NOW
I wasn't expecting this video to break my heart and yet it did it... flawless
This show, hands down, has the best character development
I cried when Michael said “take it sleezy”
I wonder if Janet ever wanted to walk through the door.
For all we know she could have been lying to make Jason feel better.
Michael, Eleanor, Chidi, and Jason all enter and exit through doors in this video. Tahini and Janet do not.
1:56 his voice is so satisfying
God I was fine! Untill I heard "take it sleazy"...😭😭😭
of the first line/last line videos I've seen for a few different shows this one is by far the most revealing of the characters and their development. I think it really shows how brilliant and compact the writing on the good place is. Barely a word is wasted across the whole series, and the characters were so complete, in focus, just, I don't know, lived in from the moment they showed up on the screen.
The fact that Jason's last words were "wait up chidi" makes me want to cryyyyyyyy😭
Tahani was my favorite of the 4 humans and 2nd favorite of the main 6 so I’m so glad she didn’t basically die forever and found a purpose that I can relate to.
I WASN'T READY FOR THAT 'TAKE IT SLEEZY'!!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭
0:27 Michael is wearing the bow tie he gives her in the last episode and in her last scene she is wearing it
Netflix US needs to put season 4 up so I can watch it before I accidentally click on a spoiler.
This is so cute cuz Jason's first words were I've been waiting for you then right at the end he was waiting for Janet
and Michael GOT THE REWARDS CARD 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
