  • This day started off rough and just got worse. We have never been harassed by the Argentina Police like this. This is already a stressful time as we prepare to ship the van to Europe. And with only a short time left we really can't afford this!

If it happened in a province called "Entre Ríos", then this is not surprising at all for me. I'm Brazilian and used to travel a lot in Argentina by car. I visited 11 provinces and had problems with the road police in only one of them: Entre Ríos. It was always the same story: they invented some problem with the car, or some (supposedly) missing item, and then asked for cash in order to liberate you. Shame on them!

Speaking of stikkers. You will definitely need «Angles Morts» stikkers before entering France. All vehicles above 3,5 tonns must have them.
European registered vehicles longer than 6 meters also must have orange lights and reflectors on the sights. I don’t know if out of continent vehicles also need them.

No one gets paid enough (except authorities) when you have 150% inflation a year. But this problem is even more common in socialists/leftist countries. People see the authorities stealing, so they believe it's not wrong to do the same.

@@marciocorrea8531 That's bullshit, DRL is mandatory in Argentina in all new cars (if the car has DRL you don't need the headlights on during the day), the cops were just corrupt. Just a thought regarding fines. Have you applied for clean air zone stickers for travelling in places like France? They have a thing called Critair when driving on some French roads.

When he pulled out late at night passed a closed Wally’s station policeman was hidden in there he followed us to outside of town & pulled us over told my husband he was speeding in a school zone 11 miles over the speed limit. 9:00pm.
We know he was not speeding but he said he had us on radar.
We did not argue took the ticket where polite.

I watched part of the videos in Brazil, they finally arrived in a developed country, Argentina, after walking through the forests of Brazil, among wild animals. Like every American with their Brazilian stereotype, they made a good itinerary, their followers in America must have enjoyed this wild adventure. However, Brazil is not a Jungle, it is a modern country with good structure and large metropolises, duplicated roads. Regarding the forest, you were at least 3 thousand km south of the Amazon rainforest. Here in Brazil, they were well treated wherever they went, by police officers, veterinarians and other people who spoke English to help. Already in Argentina they were victims of police extortion, In Brazil there are large seaports, they could have boarded the Van without any major problems. I hope they don't have any more problems boarding the Van, and that it arrives in Europe with all the equipment. I stop following the channel, in Europe there are many Brazilians doing this.

Well the problem is in your first sentence when you said you watched "part" of their videos in Brazil. This was their second trip to Brazil, and they absolutely love the country and went to many different cities there. They know it's very developed and is way more than just forests and jungles. And since you only watched part of the videos, then you obviously missed the parts where they explained why they are shipping out of Argentina and not Brazil.
Snow thoroughly researches everything about their travels. The main reason they are not shipping out of Brazil to Europe is because it would be much harder to import their two cats into Europe from Brazil. Their cats would have to undergo more unnecessary testing and injections if they left from Brazil. Argentina is a rabies-free country, and it is much easier to export the cats from there to Europe. Also, another reason why they are shipping from Argentina is so Snow can have another appointment there with her heart doctor before she travels to Europe. Both Curt and Snow are very educated and intelligent. Nobody should question their decisions or why they do things because they know what they are doing and make the best decisions that suit their needs and those of their two kitties.

From the images, anyone who doesn't know Brazil would believe that it doesn't have good roads, infrastructure, etc... Their decision to take the van to Argentina to send it to Europe is not my problem. As for the cardiologist, in Brazil there are dozens of large international medical centers, transplants, etc...

I have a suggestion for the kitties and their new lodging - put some of your comfortable clothes in there - preferably unwashed, smelling of you both. Is Vanna a daddy's girl? Put a dirty, soft undershirt, T shirt, socks...you get the idea. Switch it out over the next 6 weeks so it won't get too rank. They will be comforted by your smell in your soft clothes. I'm loving Argentina. I was there briefly in the 70s. I'm sorry you had to miss Uruguay - but maybe a day trip over to Montevideo? Have fun!!!

I had to pause to comment. I am VERY surprised that the police at the check point allowed for videoing. It is corrupt because the ticket stated that....The most important is a measure that was already two years late: from now on, all new models launched for sale in Argentina must come equipped with automatic daytime running lights. Your van isn't new nor did you buy it in Argentina. So your drl wasn't recognized, evidently. So either this police man was absolutely corrupt or had no knowledge of true facts. Unfortunately this is just how it is in many foreign countries and the best thing to do is not become frustrated or even angry about it but if a ticket was cited, just pay it and move onward. We see things like this a lot in Africa during mission trips.
