She escaped Ursus (which is a herculian feat to say the least), but was pursued a loooong way, until she found a cave with an elevator. She thought the elevator was the end for her and she was ready to give up, but it turned out that it lead to Zeruertza, an underground Durin city. Instead of her life ending, it started anew in this Utopia. That's also why she's super protective of it and why she likes Durins. Not because of what the fandom thinks, but because Durins as carefree people that don't know of any conflict. With them she feels at peace.
