They did a few horror themed issues at that time... There was also a issue where Sabertooth escaped during a blackout in the Mansion and just stalked and killed everyone.
Kinda surprised no one has made this joke yet. This video is truly the start of the darkest timeline

Getting Ben to do the relationship drama themed book was genius, I want to see more of it
I really liked that Spider-Man Arachnamorphosus issue. Also liked the preceding issue that basically plays out the final act of a slasher film with Sabretooth as the killer, and Jubilee as the final girl. I also really love horror movies, so go figure I'd dig those.
The Sabretooth issue was fantastic especially right after reading the Sabretooth one-shot "Red Zone" with another fight between him and Jean Grey (the firecracker and the atom bomb). If you want horror find the ?What If. . . starring Havok. Essentially it features a pre-teen Summers Brothers and the Dark Beast. I appreciated Marvel turning What If into ?What If to incorporate a darker element. Oh and find the one with Nightcrawler and Rogue. THAT one was beautiful.
@@HellPhoenix6 I've read those, they're all from that odd time period What If was basically a horror comic. I'd dropped out of comics back when they were originally published, but read them much later on as an adult while going through the 2nd What If series. I was rather surprised when all of a sudden the comics just got really dark, haha.
@@antgto I dropped the whole X-Universe after that Age of Apocalypse anniversary trainwreck. I get around to reading the TPBs from the library but turning the AOA into an alternate reality was my pig's blood.

Bet this was inspired by Kafka's metamorphosis. I think they also did a few episodes of Peter turning into a multiple armed spider monster for a bit in the old animated series.

Hi guys, changing the subject a bit, I had a theme that could be used in Elseworlds exchane: what about talking about those villains that appear in the first issue and then were overtaken by others in terms of popularity. It occurred to me when I read The Amazing Spiderman # 1 of 1963 for the first time, where I learned that the chameleon was the first spidey supervillain, but although he is still part of the rogue gallery he is not as popular as Doctor Ock or Norman Osborn . I love you guys, keep up the good work.
I like how the crowd just Aw'd to Peter punching Robbie. Robbie is a cool dude who's always sticked his neck for Pete. Punching him is just too far

Please do the What if Issue where they save the super-serum and it lead to Red SKull taking over the United States and Wolverine become a wendigo, falcon is antman and Punisher is Iron Man.

You most really not like side characters in Marvel because I really enjoy characters like Nova and Hercules and Darkhawk and Generation X. They actually have a large portion of fans....unless you mean just this time period specifically then yeah....I totally understand.

So what did happen to Harry Potter's kid? I never really planned on reading the book about him...
From what I remember, he was put in slytherin became best friends with Malfoy's kid, was bullied for 4 years. Accidentally erased everyone he loved from existance and ruined the timeline, and even after bringing back everything back to normal, Harry somehow still has a piece of Voldemort in him, I think they didn't really explain it. He basically almost ruined the Harry Potter universe because of his own incompetence.

Reed Richards was "dead" during the pursuit storyline hence why he isn't there with the rest of the fantastic four
He literally says Reed Richards could figure it out in the book.

Idk, all those issues were pretty soul-drainingly depressing. The Black Cat marriage was about what I’d expect from a What If story in its fun nonsense interpretation of the characters: Spidey’s a masochistic douchebag, Black Cat is an obsessive basket case, and the only sane people are the criminals who give free therapy sessions after their asses are kicked. Meanwhile the evil parents story is just gratuitously cruel-hearted and relentless, and the horror story is hopeless sadness that no one asked for.
Yeah that's why the episode is called Spider-Man's Darkest Timelines.
