I don’t think he loses iq because technically your iq can never change unless you’ve experienced SEVERE brain injury, if he had a brain injury that bad he wouldn’t be able to be a hero and probably wouldn’t even be able to eat by himself. His quirk probably affects his memory though.
This would explain a lot of his character structure and how he rarely talks about his family. He is my favorite character and hope others can see his past.
Denki being quirkless at the beginning in this AU makes sense. Since he short circuits his brain isnt wired for an electricity quirk since birth, he only built that sub tolerance
I think in terms of Bakusquad that Denki needs a reveal backstory and honestly, I think this would fit pretty well. Deku, Uraraka, Iida, Todoroki, Bakugou, Jiro Kirishima have good driven motives to be heroes and I think something like this would also be a sad but great motive for Denki to be a hero in the show. Denki is amazing and I adore his character so much as a whole. He's such a great guy with a good heart.

I have bought that he would most likely have divorced parents but this AU is not just sad but it is extremely creative it makes so much of the subplots towards d Denki's quirk and him not being able to control it, it would make so much sense. Also his baby brother and his twin sister are so cute. I WANNA HUG THEM! I blame the father for everything his family torn apart and his sister's disappearance/death.

I have a backstory Idea for him so he comes from a really big family he was often compared to his siblings in middle school he was just another kaminari he wanted to go to ya so he could impress his parents the hole summer he trained and trained when he got to the ua entrance exam he noticed everyone had big personalities and he didn’t want to be forgotten again so he faced his personality he forced himself to be friends with people he couldn’t stand like bakugo he would make plans with them even if getting out of bed got harder and harder everyday he had to get up or risk being forgotten
This is sad but hopeful in its own way. Denki's quirk isn't his but he got to keep it because of his brother passing away. That's probably why his quirk hurts him. Technically not his quirk.
I, DIO, am not sure that Electoplant and Cow Lady are really Kaminari and Pony’s parents, because that time was set back around 30-40 years ago, when All Might was still a student. And they looked to be in their early ‘20’s, which Kaminari’s mom looks the same age, in which we know her time she appears is the same as present-day MHA, because we see the LOV as Twice’s clones in the beginning, so if anything, Electoplant might be Kaminari’s Grandfather or old Uncle.
