    My examination results came out today (end of my premaster year!) So I've been thinking of baking something sweet as a celebration, I scored A-! Tho it wasn't what I expected and kinda disappointed, I'm happy I finished the year and now I can apply for the Master's programme, so I think I'm gonna follow this recipe! So simple and clear instructions! Thank you so much!

    I’m the only one in my house that likes cream puffs (good and bad). Would they need to be refrigerated and how long do they last (if not eaten right away). The cream horns I buy at the bakery last a few days without refrigeration. Love your vlogs.

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  2 года назад +3

      Hi Sandy, once filled with any cream filling, they should be stored in the refrigerator. But until you fill them, the shells can be stored at room temp. Once filled they can be stored uncovered in the fridge for about three days.

    May I ask what's the reason that the center of my cream puff isn't cooked enough? I watched so many videos and followed the exact same way but it keeps turning out uncooked in the middle! No matter how long I bake it, it just remains the same! I've tried 180 degree celsius for 25mins, 160 degree celsius for 40minutes , and not just that , everytime i fail , i tried to plus or minus the temperature and baking time , I''ve tried like 10 different times but it just didn't work ! Someone please help !! 😭😭

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Год назад +1

      Cut them in half then put them back in the oven for another 10 minutes or so and it will cook the middle better, if you are having issues.

      I should be water. But you can always try milk, it will probably be okay, but traditionally water is used.

    Why 2 and not 4 eggs? I use 4 and they’re super puppy and hollow. I don’t eat them so can u tell me why the difference in eggs?

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  Год назад

      Hi there! Because this recipe only uses 2 eggs. It is not just 2 eggs it goes with all the other ingredients. Are you also using the same exact measurements for the other ingredients?? 4 eggs would make these too eggy if you follow the recipe exactly. If I doubled the recipe I would of course use 4 eggs.

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt

      You need to cook them a little longer. Or after you cut them in half put them back in the oven for 10 to 15 minutes

    Question, what if I you a toaster oven to bake it? How many F do i need??

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  8 месяцев назад

      You can try baking these in a toaster oven, reduce the temp by 25 degrees F. Start at 375F bake them for 15 minutes then turn the heat down to 325F. for around 30 minutes. But you will have to experiment, those are just guidelines.

    What is the reason for baking twice

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  7 месяцев назад +1

      You aren't baking them twice you are baking them one time but with two different temps. You never take them out of the oven, just reduce the temp. The first high heat gets them to rise, the final lower heat cooks them all the way through.

      @@inthekitchenwithmatt oh, the recipe I was using didn’t mention to do that n they came out very soft in the middle and i can’t see them holding up well with filling

    • @inthekitchenwithmatt
      @inthekitchenwithmatt  7 месяцев назад +1

      Ok yeah, try this recipe next time and see if they turn out any better. One thing you can do is after cutting them in half if they are soft in the middle is put the cream puff shells back in the oven for 5 to 10 minutes to dry the middles out.@@GrampaJoe

      just regular flour. Anytime a recipe calls for just flour they are always referring to regular flour also called plain flour or all purpose flour. Otherwise the recipe will specifically say "bread flour" "whole wheat flour" "self-rising flour" "cake flour" "pizza flour" etc.
