I love that live Kansas album as well. I would add either "Blow Your Face Out" or "Full House" by the J. Geils Band to your collection. They are both excellent.
Great video. I love live albums. You have a lot of the classics for sure. Live and Dangerous definitwly ranks amongst the best. Cool to see someone talk about Sad Cafe. They definitely don't get mentioned much in the VC. That Sammy Hagar lp was cool to see . Here in the US it is called All Night Long and has a different cover. Ones that you didn't show that would make my best live album list are Cheap Trick At Budokan Scorpions Tokyo Tapes UFO Strangers In the Night Oh...i love that MSG live album too. Good stuff.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. Good to hear someone else has some love for Sad Cafe, such an underrated band. I actually just checked and do have both Cheap Trick and Scorpions albums (but not UFO). I need to find a better was of going through what I have (there were a few others I left off too).
@BackInTheGroove it's nice that you are rediscovering all these as you go through them. I like hearing your personal stories too about when you first got them. The Thin Lizzy story was great. Glad you didn't get hurt :) .
It really is almost like hearing them with new ears. Really glad you like the anecdotes along the way, not sure how many I'll have but I think it makes them a bit more interesting and personal. I'm glad no-one was hurt too :)
Have planned to be a live album video. I’ve got sooooo many though. Love that Hagar album. He was great live. Song remains the same is an absolute lemon of an album. The film is dire. The version of Black Rose on Live is amazing. La villa on ESL by rush is phenomenal I really enjoy that a Kansas live album. Underrated. Catch the Rainbow from On Stage is perfect. Schenkers guitar tone is to die for. Machine Gun from Saxon is fab HM tune Makin Love by Kiss rips off space station no 5. But I do like Alive II OYFOOYK is easily one of my favourite live album. Would have been so much better with Astronomy and stairway to the stars on it. Live and dangerous is top drawer. Great live band. Listen to the bootlegs from that time and you wonder how much tinkering actually took place. Missing Made in Japan. The greatest live Lp. Strangers in the night UFO. Mahogany Rush live. There’s so many to choose from. I may attempt this myself. Cheers, Chris
I think if I had had a lot more I would have split it into more videos. As it is I'm realising I need to elaborate on the performances, band members a bit more while discussing the albums, but was conscious of time. I do have a couple more (and tons on CD - may do a like minded video on those even) i.e. Skyhooks's "Be In It" - I really need to finish cataloguing to help with the videos rather than going from memory and what jumps out visually. I did have Made In Japan & Made In Europe plus UFO at one point but frustratingly they seem to have disappeared from the collection along with many others (I've started a list as I come across them). I'll look forward to your take on this. I did watch your Stevie Ray Vaughan video but he's one of those artists I've never really tried to delve into. One for the future perhaps.

Yeah very underrated - I'll be sure to look out for those.

What Live albums have you got in your collection? What do you recommend I add to mine?
