Thanks a lot Scott for the great review!...You explained the most crucial details of Fotis Benardo Drums in the best way!...You are definitely the man who knows in depth this kind of stuff!...Awesome video as usual by @ChernobylAudio666🔥🔥🔥
Finally this drum library gets some recognition, I bought it while it was on sale and with an additional 10% if you subscribe to the newsletter and I'm very impressed! Definitely recommend it!
there's always room for another acoustic drum sample companies given that people record in different, well, room, drum pieces, mic choices, and maybe techniques (whether playing or recording), not to mention how they program the software even if it's inside kontakt.
Great tip for shortening the cymbals which is the only I didn't find perfect in the beggining. But as you did, needs some softening/processing.The shells are some of the best, especially the toms are just perfect.Unreal!!!Right now are on summer sale as Scott said plus you get an extra percent as a new customer which makes it even more hands down.
I bought this library yesterday and it sounds absolutely sick! I use the grooves tab in EZdrummer 3, route its MIDI out to Fotis Benardo and the results are fantastic.
I used to bother with every detail writing out midi only to end up having a drummer redo the whole thing at some point so I just dont bother anymore 😂 Having a big midi library is a big + for not having ypur creative flow slowed down too. I'll be looking into this and that another brutal intro Scott, get an album done already 😂
I knew there were a lot of grooves, but this is comically ridiculous how many grooves are included in Fotis. In terms of literal "drag and drop" grooves where I basically didn't have to do anything to them, Fotis is amazing. This demo is the first time I spent longer working on guitars than drums, haha. 🤣
Really nice drums, seriously thinking about a purchase. The Grooves section is worth the price on it's own. I work alot with Ezdrummer so it's nice to see the built in midi map function.
@TheMack Thanks a lot my friend for the support...Yes there is a drum map for Ez Drummer3 and Ez Drummer2 (and 28 more Drum maps...almost for any different Drum Library) so it is straight forward!🔥🔥🔥
After finding another “best new drums in Kontakt” and buying them. I found this even before your video and was like 🤔. Maybe I should color outside of lines. I love these drums!!!
Really wish it had two kick drums so one could be tuned up/down just a bit - which would help the realism when playing faster kick drum patterns via some variety. Also, in some of the clips I've listened to, the upper toms seem to clip/overdrive. Is that a result of the mix, or is it baked into the tom samples themselves?
There is a Kick L/Kick R articulation where you can separate them and reduce the weak foot velocity by 5 or so and you'll get the same result. You can also put a multiband on the fundamental frequencies of the snare/tom to take the edge off the top. You really shouldn't need to do any compression/clipping or anything like that to the individual drums, only on the group track. 🤘
Yes, as best as possible. But like I said in my video, if you're using 500 cymbals and stacks, not all of the cymbals will be the same, but the major articulations will work and it'll be a lot easier to edit.
I bought this drum library last night. For some reason I haven't received the download link yet. Also having a log in problem. Tried to get a password reset, but I'm not getting any response from them. Anyone else having problems? I contacted them on their site, but no response at all. Weird...

Any library out there thar could sound like Drums recorded in grieghallen ? like Taake 1-2-3 or something ? Kvlt drum II aint far, but the cymbals are garbage.
The drums on Nattesid are dry mostly, except for a lot of reverb on the toms. So what you could do is take the Fotis Drums, use all of the raw samples, don't scoop the mids or really do anything to them, leave the reverb that comes from Kontakt, and then just bury them in the mix under the guitars and vocals.
@@ChernobylAudio666 Thanks for the input ! I did this with ELE sounds decent, still a bit to big. Pytten really is a master of raw sounds! I always end up to polished.
I fuckin HATE Kontakt. I refuse to buy anything who uses this crap program. Super slow to load up, need to be connected to the internet to use it. When I buy something I want to OWN it, not log into a third party program that can go bankrupt so I lose everything. Also the first Superior Drummer 2 with some good presets or Ezdrummer 2 still sounds equally good to anything else today.
