Especially Americans they don’t really pay attention to the Korean War. They just didn’t understand the history or the severity of the situation. I don’t think they had ill intentions tho!

bro as a kurd I was flabbergasted about korean rice. I went to eat out korean and I could not finish that rice when I tried my best.. it tastes like NOTHING which put me off. it is not seasoned which I didn't expect because in my culture we have to season that rice. I could eat our white rice just like that bc it's got flavor. I mean of course it is their cuisine but it just surprised me. showed me that not all asians like their food much seasoned.
I would guess they don't season it bc the side dishes are the ones that should stand out with the flavor, but idk.

I believe quite a lot of their food might be not much seasoned. I follow korean content for so many years now and the phrase "this is too salty" fell unusually often from koreans. I also never see them really season meat and eggs for example.
not saying they have no seasoned food (because I know with how many ingredients they cook).
I guess they use less than average of the amount of salty seasonings than some other countries which in the end is pretty healthy.
@@PeyloBeauty seasoning is pretty common to find in korean dishes but not a lot of dry seasonings like in the west. bulgogi is super popular and it's marinated beef, and yes the other person is correct, when having rice with other things it's used in a plain way so it dosent overpower or compete with the flavors of the side dishes or banchan because they are actually the star of the meal, in the traditional korean setting. gochujang and gochugaru are essential seasoning agents to korean cuisine. things like korean barbecue are often not seasoned heavily because the quality of meat should shine on its own and impress you without any help. like nearly all other cultures, korea has a mix of blander food and more bold tasting foods.
