    Don't worry about continuity in the series. Miller's approach is folkloric, in which details are mutable, but the essential truths of the story are maintained. It's like a cinematic oral history of the wasteland.

    there's a steven soderbergh quote that i always felt summed up the achievement of fury road, a film that actually gets more mind-boggling the more you read about how it was made: "I just watched Mad Max: Fury Road again last week, and I tell you I couldn’t direct 30 seconds of that. I’d put a gun in my mouth. I don’t understand how [George Miller] does that, I really don’t, and it’s my job to understand it. I don’t understand two things: I don’t understand how they’re not still shooting that film and I don’t understand how hundreds of people aren’t dead."

    Watching this movie in the theater I had my first ever experience of being "overcome with emotion". I sat in awe the entire movie and at moments was blown away, but the scene where they drive into the sandstorm is still to this day the most beautiful and stunning thing I have ever experienced. I was literally moved to tears because what I was seeing was so unbelievable. I will never forget this movie and it is in my top 5 (if not top 2) favorite movies of all time!

      @@cullenarthur8879 Her role in Northman isn't so not sure why you'd mention that. I've enjoyed her in other things but the Furiosa trailer only confirmed my concerns. For most of the trailer she is voguing. At no point do we see Furiosa in the last film just staring into the camera as if she's on a runway. She didn't bother to even put on weight or basic training to prepare for the role by the look of things. I want to have faith in George so hopefully the next trailer is better, otherwise I might be skipping this one. She's literally telling us in the trailer that she's Furiosa but far from actually showing us. The old "show, don't tell" adage could not be more applicable.

      @cullenarthur8879 9 месяцев назад

      @@gemelwalters2942 that's ridiculous. I didn't see one shot in the trailer of her "voguing". Yeah, her climbing out of a sand dune is really "voguing". Please!I think you're projecting a lot on to her that isn't there. If you rewatch a trailer from Fury Road I bet you could find similar shots of Charlize Theron. That's what films do, they capture dramatic looks of the actors.
      She did have what could be considered action scenes in Northman. It may not be Mad Max level action, but it's definitely action.

    apparently they already had the script ready to go for Mel Gibson years ago but never went through for whatever reason and now Mel was too old for it. The flashbacks he had, i always took it as many of the people he encountered throughout the years before and after the previous 3 movies. He's defintely gone mad for real as they call him a raging feral and in the intro he says he is reduced to one instict: survival. This movie is Max slowly regaining his humanity and caring about others again instead of running from the past like he was doing.

    I like this one, but also feel like it's not really a Mad Max movie, but a movie set in the Mad Max world. The main character clearly is Furiosa, and Max does almost next to nothing in regards to the story. Even Max himself feels like a totally different character, like the visions of people we've never met or seen before always confused me. It's a good movie and deserves the hype, it's just not a Mad Max movie, it's a Furiosa movie, which is even more evident by the next movie coming out, Furiosa : A Mad Max saga. I guess they probably wanted a new main character to focus on but set in the same world, but knew a lot of people wouldn't see a Mad Max movie without Mad Max, that's why his character almost feels like an after thought.

    No one knows if this is a fourth movie in the same series and if so what order it falls in, a reboot, an alternate universe or what is it. Kinda the same with the last two. Are the pilot and the boy the same people from the second movie? Is Scrooloose a lost war boy? In Thunderdome Max almost seemed to recognize the pilot and him. Unfortunately this was mostly a Furiosa movie more than a Max movie. There is a Furiosa prequel coming. You said it yourself the first three movies are narrated by someone else. "And in this maelstrom of decay, ordinary men were battered and smashed... men like Max... the warrior Max. In the roar of an engine, he lost everything... and became a shell of a man... a burnt-out, desolate man, a man haunted by the demons of his past, a man who wandered out into the wasteland "And so began the journey north to safety, to our place in the sun. Among us we found a new leader: the man who came from the sky, the Gyro Captain. And just as Pappagallo had planned, we traveled far beyond the reach of men on machines. The juice, the precious juice was hidden in the vehicles. [fade to shot of the Feral Kid] As for me, I grew to manhood and in the fullness of time I became the leader, the Chief of the Great Northern Tribe. And the Road Warrior? That was the last we ever saw of him. He lives now only in my memories.' "Still in all, every night we does the tell, so that we 'member who we was and where we came from... but most of all we 'members the man that finded us, him that came the salvage. And we lights the city, not just for him, but for all of them that are still out there." So it's all possibly an unreliable narrator(s). Is Max just a legend to give hope? Are there Many Maxs and not just one? Has the story changed because it's been told many times as it was passed on?

Give them the idea to go back and retake the Citadel and almost single handedly take down all Joe's forces on the way back from action sequence to sequence. Furiosa was driving the whole time. What you are demonstrating is male fragility. This desperate need to be the center of attention is quite frankly childlike behavior, do better. It's ok if Max shared the screen and I'm going to trust that George Miller knows how best to write the character than you or I.

      @@gemelwalters2942 They are exhibiting the fragility by barely having Max in a Mad Max movie. They thought they has to trick people into paying for a Furiosa movie.

      You're confusing things for no reason at all.
      Fury Road was written as Mad Max 4, sequel to Beyond Thunderdome. It was going to star Mel Gibson - old Max. That didn't happen so they got a younger actor and called the same movie a 'soft reboot'. That's literally it. It still takes place after the 3rd movie. That's it.
      The Gyrocaptain and Jedediah are not the same character. Scrooloose is not a lost war boy.
      Just because all those movies are framed as stories told by someone else doesn't mean those movies make absolutely no sense at all. It's quite the contrary.
