This world needs more Polyphonic Spree! The Christmas show should be beamed into every corner of the universe. I flew cross country to see it and could not recommend it more highly. Get to Dallas and see this show!
Seeing them performing in a muddy field in Ireland nearly twenty years ago was magical,we even got to hang out with Andrew from the band who played the French horn.
Naw. They used to perform in street clothes but decided to match because there would be 30 on stage and people would focus on what people wore instead of the music.
This is the most wonderful cult! What a an incredible school of happy fish. I hope I win the jackpot Power Ball soon. Cuz I'm gonna buy them two more buses and then were gonna rock stadiums world wide!
That was good ! It reminds me some of Sufjan Steven's christmas music. oh! Here's my chance to ask for Sufjan at the Tiny Desk !!! I'd like it very much.
I think it's a tiny concert at a desk. Like a desk concert, but tiny. I think tiny is referring to the size of the concert, not the desk... WHo knows :P
Who is that brunnette third to his left? The one with the rope around her head. One to the right of the cello. Not a fan of the band but her smile makes me melt.
What is up with this "band"? Looks very cult-like? And the leadsinging guy really doesn't sing too well, or am I the only one who thinks that? He sounds awful at times!
Gosh, ya, just what is this? Maybe it's a kind-hearted group showing us all -- no matter who we are -- that we too can have fun and sing. MIght help to explain that. I really dunno. ???

This video has become a yearly tradition for me. The Spree has the best version of Happy Xmas since the original!
When ever I think of The Polyphonic Spree I think of sunshine and confetti, adding their happy-splosion to Christmas is perfect.
Any doubt that he is going commando under that robe?
T- minus three weeks and I get to see them in Dallas. I sure hope they play this for their Xmas special show!
Me too! Coming all the way from Mexico City.
@@phananarama I hope we bump into each other! I can't wait for the show!
This show made my mom happy. Love you all
Barking mad, but all the better for it.
It's already a habit. Listen to The Polyphonic Spree at Christmas.
Listening in April.
Listening in December 2022

That time of year again to celebrate this tiny desk concert!

Yes, and that’s the point, right? 😎👍
Very beautiful ! Merry Christmas !
Yes. And it's one I would join.
You have to admit, there's no-one quite like them.
I suspect they are a cult, but I love them anyway.
John Lacy exact thoughts running through my mind lol
Naw. They used to perform in street clothes but decided to match because there would be 30 on stage and people would focus on what people wore instead of the music.
They are not, just a band.
Haha nah the outfits are just a gimmick to give it that gospel choir feel.
I would join this cult in a second it it meant I could sing with them. Lol
great video, come back every year to lsiten to it, thnak you!!!
I'm back, just in time
Hope you'll come in 2018
Yes. And an amazing one.
This is fucking fantastic!
The piano player is an extremely talented songwriter, Jesse "Podunk" Hester.
This is the most wonderful cult! What a an incredible school of happy fish. I hope I win the jackpot Power Ball soon. Cuz I'm gonna buy them two more buses and then were gonna rock stadiums world wide!
I'm with you! they make me happy. love them!
Great! I really like the trumpeter's sound!
Love this!
I always believed! Now, I know I was right!
Thanks, thanks, thanks!
Let’s hope it’s a good one!
So goood!!!!
the one on the most meds gets to be leader
He looks like Heath Ledger's joker in a Snuggie.
Polyphonic Spreeeeeeee! :D
Sweet! Merry Christmas to all! =)
Great!
That was good ! It reminds me some of Sufjan Steven's christmas music. oh! Here's my chance to ask for Sufjan at the Tiny Desk !!! I'd like it very much.
You can tell that he has Brian Wilson's genes.
That cults got a good sound
I think that's 17 people in a Tiny Desk concert
OMG I always wanted them to be in one of these, sad they didn't play the old ones :/
Their rendition of lithium is better than Nirvana's.
The crazy and creepy vibes are off the chart!
If you have to ask, I'm certainly not explaining.
He reminds me of a very Christmassy Wayne Coyne.
the cow was Epic
Good ol Timmy DeL.
Yes! Sufjan Stevens please, please, please!
Fucking hilarious at 7:40. Just so he can claim musical expertise haha.
haha, yes!
needs more chimes in the mix...
Is that Tim Robbins?
Werent these guys on a Scrubs episode forever ago?
Insert Redletter Media Meme Here they were yeah, they performed their song “light and day” ❤️
I think it's a tiny concert at a desk. Like a desk concert, but tiny. I think tiny is referring to the size of the concert, not the desk... WHo knows :P
Wait a sec.... is that Bradly Cooper playing the violin 2:19
the desk they are referring to is yours, i believe.
because it's like you are watching a tiny desk concert. . . through your computer.
but I watch from my huge bed.
What the hell? This scares the shit out of me. I'm sure they didn't film the cat sacrifice after the song.
He must troll the local Dallas collage campuses with promises of awesome drugs and publicity!!
If Richard Simmons formed a music cult. . . Not completely unexpected.
:( This is making me not regret not backing their album. I so wanted to like them, being a chorus and all.
Todd Harkey
There is nothing tiny about that desk.
Came expecting polyphony - got a cult.
are only the hot girls allowed to wear headbands?
...and your point?
Who is that brunnette third to his left? The one with the rope around her head. One to the right of the cello. Not a fan of the band but her smile makes me melt.
I think she's called Elisabeth Evans.
you mean DMT?
Nah dude, check out the Mother Falcon video. THAT is the largest tiny desk concert yet.
It puts the lotion in it's skin, oh and it takes the Jim Jones koolaide after... freak (dude in the green)!
Why am I suddenly craving Kool-Aid?
It almost appears as if he is running a "singing cult" to gain access to hot young women to me.
This man is on drugs
All those chicks are hot....except the one playing cello. huh
Charles Manson would be so proud. this makes no sense but the drugs are probably a lot of fun.
?
Is this a cult??

Listen carefully. He says the vocals are stylized after Black Sabbath’s Ozzy Osbourne. It’s there.
Music is realy dead
There is no christmas song singer like Bing Cosby, not good at all...
