Lee is also one of Kazuya's main rivals. Hell, he's the Stage 8 sub-boss for Kazuya in the FIRST GAME. Yet here, he gets punked out by both Kaz AND Heihachi. Kazuya having a competitive fight with both rival Paul, and his adoptive brother Lee before ultimately facing Heihachi at the end would've been dope, and could've been another redeeming quality of an otherwise underwhelming disappointment of an adaptation. For example, in the original Tekken 1 story line. Heihachi believed his son was too weak to ever inherit his conglomerate, and decided to throw a 5 year old Kazuya into a ravine, and thought that if he were truly strong enough, he would be able survive the fall and climb back up. Tekken 7 retconned Heihachi motivation for throwing Kazuya, which was a test of strength into being about trying to rid the devil gene when that was NEVER a factor in the previous games. I have issue with this, since it not only retcons the previous games events, but changes a fundamental aspect that we know about Heihachi's character, since he's always been shown to be a ruthless self centered character that would do things that he felt worked best for him, and didn't care about ridding the world of the devil gene. I'm using this as my primer on Tekken lore during this period of "this person was just announced for Smash and I've heard of their game but know nothing about any of the characters."
Whether it's a bad movie or a TV series or a game, we all have a "guilty pleasure" of sorts. One of mine is this Particular Anime film that came out around the late '90s during my freshmen year. I remember staying up late-night around 5AM to record it on my VCR back when the "Encore Action Channel" showed Anime late night and later getting people into the Tekken game franchise itself by showing this particular Anime movie to them, not realizing the retcons and major changes Harada would later make within its lore a decade or so later... (It also marked the first appearance of the Tekken 7 Boss "Kazumi" despite her image only appearing in a locket.)
I personally liked this story. It's not a perfect adaptation of the original game, but it'll do if you need Tekken cliff notes. Its probably the most grounded story we could've gotten from a fighting game anime
While not generally mentioned there is usually prize money since Law in nearly every case is entering because he needs the money for one reason or another. Though I do believe that the tournament is sometimes just used as bait to lure out someone. Considering what we know know about the mom the plot does feel a lot different now in hindsight XD Though Jun being there is really the only oddity since out before the bulk of Devil Gene lore was revealed.

Not surprising, though. Korean characters rarely ever get much presence/respect in anime.
The King of Fighters movie would be dope
Considering what we know know about the mom the plot does feel a lot different now in hindsight XD
Though Jun being there is really the only oddity since out before the bulk of Devil Gene lore was revealed.
I want the narrator to do the eulogy at my funeral. “GEORGE was the KEY to LIFE!!!!”
the opening narration was actually pretty cool
the ending song from this movie holds a dear place in my heart "meaning of life" by the offspring
Ah yes, that nostalgic 80's/90's dubbing that just put me off for life.
Subs forever. :D
Animated errors in Tekken: The Motion Picture:
1. Lee's car faded into thin air during the freeway scene
2. Kazuya delivered a very awkward uppercut into the sky
there is a second live action tekken movie???????????? Oo
You should talk about the Virtua Fighter Anime, though not a super accurate adaptation, I think it’s actually pretty fun.
Jesus, you call Corrosion of Conformity a garbage soundtrack... SMACK!
Now I feel this is justified after watching those live action ones.
Looks like Tekken bloodline is the direct sequel to Tekken the motion picture.
Blood Vengeance
I remember having this on 📼
Matt is _never_ giving it up, not to _anyone!_ URGH!
(Tekken: Blood Vengeance _would_ actually be dope, just for that goofy ending. And the *Excellent!* use of Lee)
Since Kuma is Japanese for bear, I'm guessing maybe?
5:36 You sure are confident in knowing your hentai water from anime water

Hey hey let's go kingkatsu!!
Bla bla bla bla bla bla *PROTECT MY BOWEL!!*

Director: "Cut , now try it again with out the fruity pebbles in you're mouth"
Loved this video!.. but Heihachi did leave Kazuya for dead after throwing him off the cliff (twice)
Protect my balls song from South Park lmfao
You should do a review Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li!
The person who voice Lee, is also in RWBY.
