Charlie dropping that “like a xmas stocking” line knowing it will make Rob laugh when he’s already breaking is the inner bones of why this show still keeps going
Seriously it looks like this was HARD to film. The writers were murdering them. I'm sure other shows are the same, but damn it looks like a lotta takes.
He's so naturally talented at doing insane and hilarious things too. His timing at 26:10 on "then AIDS ruined everything" is absolutely perfect. On the podcast they talk about the scene where he's drinking the beer out on the street talking to Mac and they noticed he ACTUALLY swallows the beer and vomits it up for the bit.
@@whoozyyy kaitlin was already an established actress before sunny, rob actually said he had a crush on her from when she was on curb your enthusiasm in 2002
He comes from the days when movies and shows were actually recorded on film, so there wasn’t much room to mess around. You had to make the most of each take.
I love when you can tell one of em just pulls out something completely hilarious and unexpected and it just blindsides whoever they're doing the scene with
You’re a lot more replaceable as an extra, so if you keep interrupting the scene by laughing (when the main cast isn’t), there’s a fear they could boot you and cycle in the next person.
I think it's because the boys aren't really trained actors, they were more writers before Sunny. Everyone else, Danny, Kaitlin, the extras, they all had prior experience acting/training (presumably, there's prob some exceptions)
Because he is the best and most experienced actor on the show lol. I'm not saying the others aren't good but they aren't Danny DeVito level acting good. And I'm also not saying that Danny DeVito is an amazing actor but he's been around long enough to be able to stay in character 99% of the time while filming these scenes.
I absolutely love how at 9:00 you can tell that the "I don't think he gets us man" was completely ad-libbed (I know much of their stuff is ad-libbed), but you can really see how the line took Glenn off guard and he loses it. Then, the next take you see that they must've had one of those "oh yeah, that line needs to stay in there" moments because that's what we see, and what made it into the final cut.
The best part about the interview scene is that some prop designer wrote the resume and none of the cast had seen it before they started shooting, so every time Michael Naughton read a line on the CV it was the first time they were hearing it.
The interesting thing about Olson's character breaks is that they don't really look like character breaks. It just look like Dee is nervously or psychotically laughing out of nowhere.
I love how genuine and off guard Glenn is every time. Everyone else seems to be having a good time pre-break but he goes from 100% professional to complete unexpected break 😂
I heard on their podcast that they rewatch last seasons bloopers right before filming the next season. It reminds them of how much fun they have while making the show. ❤😊
