This looks like a lovely design, even if not "perfect" it's still well-done as a self-made version for the video. When describing the Yorktown leaving spacedock with some systems unfinished immediately reminded me of the Enterprise-B in "Generations" with Capt. Harriman stating most technologies would be installed/delivered; "on Tuesday" and making the crews finalize the systems almost reminded me of Tucker and Reed having to build the phase-cannons in the field (though in their case the launch was earlier than planned). It gives the Yorktown-class a higher degree of battlefield experience as both the ship and crew had to "work out the kinks" in the heat of battle, almost like the Defiant being retuned to compensate for it's higher warp field
I don't comment much, but I do absolutely enjoy your take on Star Trek! I've said that many of you on RUclips doing sci-fi do an excellent job. Thank you for your video!
Given how little we currently know of the post-Enterprise Federation/Starfleet history (late 22nd century), this video definitely helps to fill in the gaps. To me, this was the "Star Trek meets The Right Stuff" era and deserves to be explored more often. No pressure, though! 🖖😁👍
I played the game when it came out and was also a massive fan of the Dominion Wars game. This felt like such a believable and achievable ship for the era. Even though there are some aesthetic similarities to Akira, which is actually my favourite Federations design... I hated the NX. But when she was given the secondary Hull, the design looked amazing.
🖖😎👍Very totally wonderfully cool and very nicely greatly well informatively explained and executed in every detail way shape and format provided on the "NX Yorktown Class, Starfleet's First True Battleship!"; A job very nicely fabulously well done by you indeed Sir!👌.
Awesome video and I love pre-Federation star fleet ships Star Trek enterprise was the first thing I saw when I was young and also watching your videos always makes me so happy. Keep up the good work and thanks for bringing something. I love before my birthday.
I absolutely kove your videos , and very much enjoyed this one. Its a brilliant deeign and your 3d model realy brings it to life , and looks like a precursor to the constitution class One ship I would really love to see you cover , is thr Boneventure class , as orisuced by Eaglrnoss , and befor that was do e by probert , for thr ships of the line calander . I mentioned this class as the eaglemoss accompanying magazine described it as rhe first federation built atarship , however it also bears an amazing resemblance to your Yorktown class, so much so it could essily be a continuation of the Yorktown class , , Boneventure was said to have been a direct follow up to the NX class , but Also has design ques to the later sheoard class by way of the forward secondry hull being in the middle of the saucer , with a long rear section and shuttlebay. Also in the. Book written many years ago, Cochrane set out on the Uss Boneventure for a remote colony and starbase , his ship mysteriously vansihing , only during TOS did they discover the fate of cochrane , the book star trek federation, tackles many eras , from pre starfleet to TNG . Hence the Boneventure would be a great one to see . That aside i absolutely do love the Yorktown class , id love to get a 3d print of one , which would make a great addition to my starfleet collection !. Its such an inspired design , one question though if i may. I have read things that suggest , that the warp 6 or 7 engine was introduced on the NX refit, and that the NX intrepid fkeet got at least the warp 5 engines , as did the earth cargo authority fleet . But. Abig thabk you for bringing us another hero ship into starfleet history , the yorktown class is very impressive, will we ever see her shuttles on here ?. Great work sir , Live long and prosper
Good Story and Narrative: Check! Good looking Ship and Beauty Shots: Check! Does hold up to the Quality I expeced: Double Check! However even Though it is undoubtedly a beautiful Ship, the Gemini Class as seen in Star Trek Online is still my Favorite Ship
Minuteman class! I request the Minuteman class again! You did an amazing job putting together this Yorkie so would love to see your take on that class.
Well I like the Yorktown class better in the fan based Earth 🌎 romulan war. Which movies are worth 7. And armed to the teeth like you would say.😊 But I like yours much better. I really and truly enjoy all your work.
those missing tech will be installed on tuesday i always been a big fan of the nx yorktown just such a cool design i hope that now with the nx refit now as canon i hope the yorktown will be as well i always been a fan of this era of starfleet with the yorktown and poseidon class
I never played Star Trek Legacy but this is a great video. This ship bridges the NX and Constitution in look and in a way reminds me of the Bonaventure from the TAS episode Time Trap.
I've always loved the Yorktown and NX-Refit as they showed the progression from the NX towards the classic arrangement of the Constitution. To me, Starfleet's major advantage is innovation and iterative design; ie the constant improvement, as opposed to the Klingon and Romulan method of developing a cutting edge design and just refitting it until it's obsolete. So the NX-Refit and Yorktown are the perfect demonstration of how Starfleet design works. I've always considered the Yorktown a canon design ever since I played ST:Legacy. I know it's not officially canon but for me there's no question.
I love this class, and I am currently replaying Star Trek Legacy and just picked it up. There are so many ST:Legacy ships that could be used here as well. I would more than willing to let the Legacy models be used as well they are not that bad and still hold up.
I think you could explain the Legacy version if you think of it as a refit to maybe pre TOS era standarts. It could have gotten a warp engine overhaul, so the nacelles look more like the connies. Compared to the lifespan of a galaxy class (about 100 years) this makes sence in my head canon. It could be a robust, long serving Battleship. We also do not see any other pure Battelships out of this era. In my opinion the yorktown would do the job untill starfleet comes up with the federation class or the proxima class. I think we see a yorktown class in a cutscene from the Legacy campaign even in the TMP era although this seems to be illogical to me, but why couldn't such a ship serve around 70 years with constant upgrades. Countless TMP designs were still active in the dominion war. (Miranda, Ecelsior)
@TriAngulumAudioStudios man i love your devotion to your channel and how you respond to your comment section. I get why you would think that. There was a fan made film made that addressed this and to be honest it was quite good. Ships look more nasa like in their asthetic. I don't remember the name but that era in my opinion shoild of been more primitive and everything should of steam rolled in tech as the Romulan war started or even just a little before that. But I don't blame the creators of Enterprise as they were given literally NO TIME to plan out properly that era as they were originally working on an entire different concept. We can thank moonves for that
Thank you, I try to interact as much as I can... As to ENT; I don't make the comment lightly, as though I have no brain, I look at it from the TOS Standpoint... I asked myself, where would technology have to be 100 years eariler, and 100+ years beyond now to have it all make sense, and ENT is accurate... You can't ignore how far we've come today and then take 100 steps back just to please a minority of fandom that believe that technology on a starship capable of faster than light travel should be using NASA level technologies slightly more advanced then today... It doesn't make sense at all... I can understand you loving a fan tale, there are many I love, however, logical progression just doesnt support you idea at all...
I love the look of the Ent-TOS transitional era ships. They make a great hybrid of the two shows that really look cool.
You and me both :)
It also looks like a hybrid of NX and Daedalus class with some added spoilers! 😁
I like to show starship linage and evolution... ;)
I'm starting to think those in charge of Star Trek need to hire you to write lore for them.
Awwww, well thank you very much!

Awwww Thank you :)
Great work! Surprised no one else has a model of this ship out there
Maybe this video will start the flood :)
@@TriAngulumAudioStudios It's a cool design you presented well. Would love to see it made canon!

Now this is the one I've been waiting for! Such an amazing design and you've done it justice. Thank you so much!
You're very welcome! Glad you enjoyed it! :)
I know Yorktown was to be the original name for the Enterprise. Nice to see this used here.
I know right? :)

@@TriAngulumAudioStudiosThis is my second favorite ship next to the Enterprise. It doesn't matter the classification of ship.
@@TriAngulumAudioStudiosI like your kitbashing skills. Well done.
Awesome one! I love pre-Federation starships and the history!
Thank you!!
I think it's good you made your own! Plus, I think it looks better then the Legacy model.
Well thank you SO much!
I love the fact that you remembered to put in solar cell Banks
Perfectly imperfect.
I think she looks better here than in the game. 👍🏻🖖🏻
Thank you SO much!~
WOW like the NX Yorktown Class. very nice video
Glad you enjoyed it Dom, Im very proud of this one :)
@ very Nice 👍

It's a great ship and story.

I loved playing this ship in Legacy even with the somewhat wonky controls.
LOL
A request for a NX Dreadnought, pushing NX, Androian and Vulcan tech into a monster of a NX era ship. My dream ship I'd love to see a model of.

Of course!
One of my favorite ships to use in the game

Niiicccee.. Only one issue. Port & Starboard = Red & Green = Left & Right

No, Like the video says, the model wasnt/ isnt high quality enough to be used in the video. I have them, they do NOT hold up for this type of video!
I hope the Earth Romulan war is explore in a show(animated or live action) or a movie.
Interesting secondary hull, it’s more spherical in Ages of the Federation.
I based it on the Actual NX Yorktown Class for Star Trek: Legacy!
@ love the video, thank you for doing these. Gives me life!
I feel like you could have used the Star Trek legacy version.
No, Like the video says, the model wasnt/ isnt high quality enough to be used in the video.

Por que não usam a verdadeira animação da classe yorktown?
Como diz o vídeo, o modelo não tinha/não tem qualidade suficiente para ser usado no vídeo.
Love the ship design but it seems too advance for the era. Even the NX class seems advance for the era.
Since Canon dictates what is advanced or not for the era, the NX Class is exactly what the technological advancement of the era should be!
