- To help address the growing needs of the Philippine aviation industry, the Philippine government is opening up an existing airfield just south of Manila for limited commercial and general aviation traffic. This video will address how the Sangley Point (Cavite) Airport will impact the future of aviation in Manila and the Philippines.

The truth here in the Philippines is that we cannot just easily decongest air traffic to & from NAIA.
While Clark is already there & this Sangley, they will only be temporary "decongestants" to NAIA's air traffic.
The best possible solution will most likely be the NMIA in Bulakan, Bulacan. But that will surely take some time to build -- half a decade most likely. Good thing that the PHL government has already issued the green light for this massive infrastructure project that is private-sector driven!
Excellent comment Yeng. Another thing the MAA could do is retime arrival and departure slots so there is less congestion at peak times in terms of arrivals and departures. It would require some co-operation with the exisiting airlines but could possibly reduce congestion.
@@citationau Such suggestion may be done on domestic flights manageably. However, I don't exactly know how will it be easily done on international flights esp. so that it involves more airline operators.
the new passenger terminal currently being constructed at New Clark Airport and targeted to open next year will triple passenger accommodations from 4million+ per yer to 12 million. That will somehow increase operational capacity and offload some of the traffic in NAIA.
@@AFPMPU That's a good outcome then! NAIA needs all the easing too badly!
@@AFPMPU I was able to acquire a data from NEDA re CIA expansion project.
The description states that the design capacity is for 8 M passengers per annum. Construction is already ongoing (70.83% completed) & be finished in 2024 (I assume as what was reflected in the data is "2044;" might be a typo error).
The project costs PhP 14.97241 billion & is PPP-funded.
Hi fellow aviators
Funny that you mention Sangley, I have always seen it on daylight arrivals into RPLL when approaching between the South and West. Always thought it had some affiliation with the military. Cavite isn't all that far from Metro Manila if compared with Clark so I think its a win win situation. I must add what needs to accompany the upgrade of Sangley would be a dedicated transport service to other parts of Central and Southern Luzon. Ube Express is growing in population as a P2P service to and from NAIA. Saves me alot of time and effort getting to and from NAIA, from the Laguna area for a small sacrifice in ticket cost. Happy travels all.
All the best Philippines under the administration of President Duterte and workaholic cabinet members. God bless and more new airport on or before 2022. Thanks to this video more please.
Do reclamation In sangley to expand the airport facilities, convert NAIA to business center like BGC..
As a resident of Cavite City, the perennial problem has been the road travel going out from Cavite City. Water ferry service is only good during fair weather and if the fish traps going to and from Metro Manila is cleared for water ferry. Ease of road travel can be achieved if a connecting freeway/wide road is constructed at the shortest possible route between Cavite City and Cavitex and going south by constructing alternate route (wide road) through the municipality of Noveleta. I hope this observation and suggestion will help our planners regards the improvement of Sangley airport..
How would you transfer from NAIA to Sangley? It is a challenge to get from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2/3.
Jeff Swoyer I think they need to provide free shuttle
They're going to be constructing a train system in the future
They have plan ferry system from sangley to Manila bay area. Its a quite faster but will add up cost to domestic traveler..highways advantages to the south but undeniable the heavy traffic and narrow 2 lanes highway should also be addressed.
This is the most ideal place
& location to build most modern airport for our country’s entry point. Filling the shallow draft sea coast of sangley will add more land area without facing legal obstacles from residences of san antonio. Most prolific is it is protected by military of philippine navy
Hope this airport will have various public transpo choices such as point to point buses to metro manila hubs and shuttles to NAIA for connecting flights.
0:33 is this the final external design of Bulacan airport?
Im not really sure cause there's so many designs showed that jm not sure which one is final
Yup yan talaga yung Design. Inspired sa 8 ray Sun sa Flag natin
In the last few months ive been using Clark airport because its much cheaper. But the travel time to Cubao is longer. If Sangley will be open, i rather use this hub instead of Clark.
Mas malapit sa cubao ang bulacan airport kung matapos na yon. Sana wag isara ang NAIA. Kailangan ng mga metro manilans ang airport na malapit lang
Instead of a grandiose multirunway plan, why not just build one long runway and convert the current one to taxiway. The facilities were already done with the recent rehab. Additional runways can be done in the future.
I wish they can extend the current runway to 2,500.
Sana dito na lang sa Sangley, Cavite Airport wag na muna sa Clark kasi ang layo,.
First Comment! 5th Liker! 😁
my hometown cavite city
😍😍😍
If the price is right and the transportation to and from sangley is good, I don’t see why people wouldn’t go there. Some in Manila already go up to Clark for cheaper flights even thought it can take up to 2 hours to get there.
As see the over budgeted Sangley point airport upgrade has now been kaiboshed by the local Govenor. Whilst I'm generally in disagreement with local politicians holding up major infrastructure projects in this case I agree. $10b is too high a price tag For what will be a temporary use airport
Thanks, informative. Glad to hear Phillipines are moving things forward - many good things are possible that benefit the public once the corrupt jackasses in governments are put in their proper place (prison)! Corruption is a worldwide problem that all of us must fight day and night, it should never be tolerated as it perpetuates poverty p, obscures trueth, and causes cycles of violence as corrupt factions fight over who gets to control the theft.
Ok
nice 👍
Domestic travel possible
The Airbus A220 could grace this airport.
P. S royal air Philippines withdrew their avros in their fleet
It’s not NIA IT’s MIA MANILA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
NIA IS THEIF
wow
If im a domestic traveler to Manila I will not choose Sangley Airport..tranpo cost will add up going to Manila area, no ferry yet, narrow and heavy traffic highway of Cavite. No trains yet! Its a waste of time. I rather spend more hundreds of peso to NAIA than waste half or wholeday travel from Sangley.
it’s supposed to be for those that are near south
