Pop music has never been so thoroughly monopolized before, two middle age white guys have written and produced almost every single female pop artist in the last 15 years, everyone from Avril Lavigne to Arianna Grande, from Pink to Katy Perry to Kesha, M Cyrus, this list goes on and on. All of it has been written and produced by either Max Martin, Dr. Luke or both. That's why so much modern pop sounds the same or sounds derivative and when Dr. Luke's involved, sounds stolen.
Will Loomis Except for Lana del rey's songs. She only took an advise regarding lyrics & bass programming from Max martin for title song LFL. And she did the whole recording in Rick nowel's studio. I also don't like Martin. Every songs produced by him sounds same
Will Loomis Lady Gaga writes and co produces all of her music. She has never worked with Dr. Luke or Max Martin.
Lady Gaga writes her own music maybe someone else produced it but she definitely writes it all
You all forget that Mutt Lang is still a producer in the industry he produced "You and I" from Lady Gaga. Even gets a credit on the album.
+Kashi Sinha Avril Lavigne writes a fair amount, about 70% I'd say out of her career. However, " The Best Damn Thing " ; is one where she wrote barely anything. Many of her earlier albums she wrote a larger percentage of the songs and has started recently getting back into it.
Pink & Katy write much of their own music. They typically each have co-writers, though write a fair amount alone as well. Lady Gaga is praised for her song writing, but... also among many is . . . how do I put it?
The public thinks differently of Gaga than she really is. The woman isn't only a sell out, but is known as a glorified recycling bin. She goes PAST inspiration and knocks off songs often just on the border of plagiarism and has owned up to taking songs she likes and just altering them beyond legal guidelines. Even saying " It doesn't make me a thief, it just makes me smarter. " ; and yes I know the definition of inspiration.
Inspiration is like . . . " What's A Girl To Do " by Bat For Lashes, obviously inspired by The Shangrilas " Never Go Home " ; still completely different songs.
Gaga is over here claiming to write her own music with songs like " Fashion of His Love " that are obviously Whitney Houston's " I Wanna Dance With Somebody " , for example. Among dozens of others. She is no better than Dr. Luke, they are both liars and get away with theft due to their massive success and in Gaga's case? Major backlash accusers will get from fans , while in Luke's case? Backlash accusers will get from SOME fans but mostly the music industry.

I only read the first and last comment on this chain, and I just want to say, when the bikini pics leaked in 2011, he did get harsher, but that's not when he called her a fat fucking refrigerator. When Kesha was doing the scene in the white lingerie in the Die Young music video, Luke made the comment about being a fat fucking refrigerator to the director. Some other people heard, eventually telling Kesha which is when her anorexia really got out of control. He said multiple other things, that she's not talented, that she just got lucky he found her, that she can be replaced by a million other girls, called her names, and assulted her any way he could.
Kesha should just retire already, the world does not need anymore shitty,mediocre crap pretending to be music.

Fun fact, Hold It Against Me samples Kesha's vocals from Blow in the final chorus & Dr Luke didn't properly give Kesha credit because he didn't want to pay Kesha.
However the BIGGEST rip off? hands down would be Katy Perry's entire Teenage Dream album. That whole concept was made by Bonnie McKee & it was going to be her pop debut with Teenage Dream as the lead single, but Dr Luke & the record label gave it to Katy Perry instead.

10, 9, 8 and 6 are pretty awful ripoffs. Most of the others are just similar chord progressions in the same or similar key and tempo. What I consider true plagiarizing or stealing is having a precisely identical hook or melody with exactly the same chord progression, key and bpm.

I'm not defending Dr Luke but what alot of people overlook is that things like simple drum beats are very difficult try in court like the Queen example, there are probably other songs which used that beat before Queen but Queen filed a lawsuit first.
