I like how he says "This might be the last time you hear The Boogie Song" as if this is the same exact song he sings to every single person he tortures.

@@gracemeredith5375 yeah theyre plan was to set things up so Boogie can kill Santa and reward them. Since Jack found out and killed Boogie they pretend to know nothing about it and avoid punishment. Just how Boogie likely taught them. Like Torchwick says in RWBY, " to lie cheat steal and survive."
It's a crime that they didn't include the evil laugh at the end.
Billy and Mandy is the reason I was never scared of the boogie man.

I like how they gave Oogie Boogie a jazzy song.
All the music in this movie is the same - except this song is not at all like the others. Just like how Oogie Boogie isn't at all like the other Halloween Town citizens.
The people in Halloween Town are kind, I mean, yeah, they're monsters, but as shown during "Making Christmas", they do what they believe the children will like. Oogie Boogie on the other hand is literally a monster in every sense - he's mean, he doesn't give a crap about the others, he doesn't even give a shit about Jack.
That's why I like his song so much and how much it contrasts.

Cab Calloway's jazz hit "Minnie the Moocher" was used as the soundtrack for an extremely surreal Betty Boop cartoon in 1932. The cartoon and song became an inspiration for the young Danny Elfman. He performed it on stage with the Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo (later just Oingo Boingo), rewrote the lyrics as "Squeezit the Moocher" for his role as Satan in "The Forbidden Zone", and it was clearly a strong influence on Oogie Boogie's song in "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
It was also in The Blues Brothers movie. Cab Calloway appeared and sang it.
That shows his obsession with gambling, the fact his lair is a casino and everyone knowing what a psycho he is.

Fun fact: when Santa says "what are you gonna do?" And Oggie replies "I'm gonna do the best I can" that's a call back to The Mountain Man.
It is because of this film I never feared the boogie man, in fact it would be a pleasant conversation I am sure

Technically there is no antagonist in the movie the producers said there for oogie boogie isn't a villain
Joe Silva he tried to murder three of the primary characters, one of them Santa Claus. Producers can pretend their movie didn't have a villain if they want, they're wrong lol
No the antagonist is inside of jack. We can say that oogies henchmen were the villains since they were told not to bring Santa to oogie but they did anyway
It does make sense to consider Jack's personality to be the main antagonistic force of the movie. However, that doesn't mean Oogie Boogie isn't the villain, and an antagonist as well. This movie is a perfect example of both a villain that is not the main antagonist (as he really only opposes Jack near the end and, really, if you took Oogie away from the movie not much would change), and a main antagonist that is not a villain (Jack's boredom and ego).
Yea, this is a great movie. It's one of the few movies that kids and adults can both get something out of.

The lyric about Oogie-Boogie revealing his plan to use Santa as a spice for his Snake-N-Spider Stew was meant to be in the movie but because of animation complication with that part of the scene (in which several spiders dances the can-can to Oogie's singing out of his eye socket, onto his arm and finally get sucked back in by Oogie) they had to cut that part. Mostly because of it was too difficult to do miniature armatures for the spiders but in my opinion they could have just make a huge Oogie-Boogie and "normal"-sized spider-puppets. Maybe that would be too expensive for such small scene.
Oh, I didn't even realize that verse wasn't in the movie.

@gruntFree I'm a modern teenager who is in love with this movie and I'm NOT emo or goth, don't put labels on people you don't know. This was my first ever Tim Burton movie and I honestly can't get enough of that genius even though his stuff is dark sometimes doesn't mean I am I just love creativity like most people look for in movies. That's what The Nightmare Before Christmas is all about.
