This has really become my favourite track on the album. I love the way it builds up slowly from completely deconstructed to the smoothest space rock tune. And that guitar at the end, that's the Archive sound !
No words for this immersive hypnotic sound. The final part of this amazing chapter called "Call. To Arms & Angels is is so rousing and bursts open in all its fury... and after this song... the last song of the album... it goes silent for a moment....and then you think....f... Archive did it again. .. what a briljant, and peerless album...
"It hurts to look, think Feel, move, cry Choose, love, live Hug, pray, dance Hold, create It hurts to let it break down It's all glossy and dripping in gold"
Well done Archive. After many listens, this album is slowly working it's way into my list of favourite albums alongside other incredible works of art. It's certainly not an album to listen to passively or for people looking for a poppy tune. You have to pay attention. The deliberate setup of new themes and note colours is constantly evolving the context, taking you on a journey to somewhere completely unexpected. I was expecting Daytime Coma to be the dominating centerpiece of this album but I was happily surprised to find each piece holds it's own in the face of that juggernaut. Overall I'd say this outshines Controlling Crowds as an artistic piece but at the cost of being a little less accessible to passive listeners. I love seeing that kind of approach in music and sincerely hope to see more of this.
To me it sounds like they sort of got back to their sound of the Lights/Controlling Crowds era, but they messed it up with the weirdness of albums like The False Foundation so it's both more experimental and more "classic Archive". It's a fantastic record, and I adore how they play with all the vocalists creating different colours now. Like this one ,when I was flicking through the sleeve notes, I was like "cool, a Maria and Dave track", and it sounds like nothing Maria or Dave have ever done. :)
Présent à Tours le 7 Octobre dernier pour leur deuxième date française... Quel pied, mes amis ! Quel pied !! J'aimerai revenir une semaine en arrière...
What a song ! Sorry, i couldn't express my opinion in english .. which makes it sound sexy, however ..

I love how Dave's bit seems to reference Lights. I don't know how intentional it is but it made me smile.

Well you always need to make some digging to reach some real gold. Fair price imo

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What an amazing track. Though I can't tell who's on the vocals. Sounds to me like D. Gee Mono or Baxter Dury.
It's Maria and the low pitched voice is Dave. I love when Maria does weird stuff like Whore or singing Pulse live.
darius i reckon
Maria Q and Dave Pen
Wow
