Woohoo!!! You got here 🎉🎉🎉 loved the journey 😁😁 god you made me want to play again...and I've played it way too much already so please take that as the highest compliment 😁😁 well done 😁😁🎉🎉🎉
When I first did it I lost both Legion and Zaeed. Losing Legion was super sad. I sucked it up and accepted that save file into mass Effect 3 though, which definitely has flavorful consequences 😂
Lost Mordin on my first go. That's a reload! Y'know it's possible to lose literally everyone, including Shepard...though you basically have to be trying to do that, 'cos you have to make EVERY wrong decision...
Great job! Most of my playthoughs have ended with all my squadmates and crew alive. Although, I did have one playthrough where Mordin and another squadmate died (can't remember which). Apparently, I forgot to fulfill Miranda's loyalty, and when I put her in charge of a team, that was the consequence.
I'm a simple man. I see a ME2 suicide mission playthrough, I watch. Also, great job in picking the right squadmates for each assignments. And even a nice little bonus dialogue when you brought Miranda at the end. Her and Illusive Man dialogue was cool to see.
I don't think it's a real blind playthrough. Seen and played too much to not spot the one who got a little bit of extra help along the way or replayed some part. And in my opinion, she definitely falls into this category for me. Fun and extremely enjoyable playthrough? Hell, yes. Blind? I'm not sure. I'll watch it to the very end to see how she concludes the trilogy, although I already have my own opinion on that. I might be wrong, a bit too green, but I'll be the first to hold my hand and confess in this case.
@@lethalchocobo1886This mission (and my entire Mass Effect playthrough so far except one mission in ME1) was livestreamed. This was done live, in real time in front of an audience and I didn't go back and redo anything. My mods were even deleting comments to make sure nothing was spoiled. I've never played the trilogy before this and I have nothing to gain by pretending that I haven't played before. You can decide for yourself.
@@LucyusMaximus It's alright and you don't need to justify yourself at all. I hold no beacon of truth, just expressing my opinion based on what I saw. Like I said, I enjoyed and intend to see your playthrough until the very end and I would be more than happy to be proved wrong.
I'm glad you chose Miranda as a squadmate on the final part of the mission. She had a pretty decent character arc throughout this game, going from a seemingly undeterrable, loyal Cerberus cheerleader, to a loyal companion and friend to Shep.
1:55:57 It seems that when switching to biotics, back to your guns, you skipped the scene of the reaper falling down. Knocking everything on top of you and your squad. That's why they're all covered in debris in the next shot.
I know I haven't been that vocal in the comment section, but I just want to tell you that your Mass Effect playthroughs bring me so much happiness. The way you allow yourself to be immersed in the story is such a joy to watch. Also, I'm super proud how you managed to keep the team alive. It just goes to show you how well you know your crew. Now we just have to hope that ME3 doesn't completely emotionally scar you.
oh no!! yeah, you missed a cutscene after the final boss. :^( i don't know why it got skipped, but i do suggest rewatching the ending on here if you haven't already and thank you for playing mass effect, i really enjoyed this playthrough and your commentary. i'm super excited to see you continue your journey!
@@LucyusMaximus(I believe) square is the skip button on PS, and it’s also the reload button, so I think you might’ve hit it to reload and accidentally skipped it.
Great job, you made all the right decisions. I love Joker exacting his revenge with the assault rifle, to make sure Shepard gets aboard. I love Legion character model, I love how expressive Legion is even without having a face that can conveying emotions they way organics can.
Great episode. On my first playthrough I romanced Kelly and both she and my favourite character Mordin died. That was a pretty terrible experience. I like to think that when Harbinger says "releasing control" and the collector leader's eyes stop glowing he remembers his prothean identity and feels sorry for what happened to his species and shame for becoming a tool for the reapers. Anyway, I'm excited for ME3!
@@LucyusMaximus Please watch the combat tutorial... Grunt and Mordon would not have ignored your situation and would have been more helpful. on pc you hold the shift key it freezes the combat and allows you to tell your sqadmates not only who to shoot at but what weapon to use. you are using some sort of game console so I don't know what button does that.
Congratulations on completing ME2! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it as much as you did! :) And great job on not losing anyone! Can't wait for the ME3 journey to begin!
Congratulations! The suicide mission is an amazing final mission for sure. Some interesting facts: An unloyal Miranda can actually survive the suicide mission AND lead the diversion team, however any other task will lead in her (unloyal) dying. And you were right in thinking Samara and Jack were good options for the biotic bubble; in fact, they're the only options that don't lead to someone dying.
@@LucyusMaximus If memory serves you don't technically need to do Arrival since it was made for new players who never played ME1 or ME2, but it would be lovely to see you do it anyway :)
@@larsegholmfischmann6594, actually, you need to play the Arrival DLC. If you skip it, the narrative will change to that the alliance made you turn yourself in/they tracked you down for working with Cerberus and The Illusive Man. It doesn't automatically say that you turned yourself in for the events of the Arrival DLC, and that everything that happened in Arrival DLC just simply happened offscreen. You want Arrival DLC to be part of the narrative, you have to actually play it.
@@projectpat8807 Yeah, I mistook it for that short thing that came out prior to the launch of ME3. Forgot what Arrival actually was! I has been 12+ years almost afterall :D
@@larsegholmfischmann6594, you might be thinking of the Genesis DLC for the start of Mass Effect 2. It was created because originally Mass Effect 1 was an Xbox Exclusive (and PC). But then Mass Effect 2 was where the games started going to PlayStation. So Genesis DLC was created for PlayStation players so they could make some of the bigger choices of Mass Effect 1 and import it into ME2. But when the DLC was made, Xbox and PC got it as well, so everyone could have the option of "playing" ME1 in like 10-20 minutes instead of playing the entire game. I still prefer playing ME1 aka the longer path first since some of the smaller stuff in the game carries over to ME2 and 3, but they won't if you go the Genesis route. But yeah. You could be thinking of the Genesis DLC, which happens/is optional at the start of ME2.
Imagine what it's like to be Geth. Single, individual, simple awareness programs, all existing in a matrix. They all experience their own virtual reality on their own small terms, and perspectives; until they merge together, and work together in what they later learn is "The real world". They utilize large & unimaginable 3d reality frames to navigate the world of the creators. None of the geth frames are single minded, and all are comparable to Aircraft carriers. They crew thousands, and are massive; however the Geth are virtual, and don't really perceive size. It's a strange exploration for them, and they're doing a fantastic job.
Just as good in the edited form! Still makes me misty-eyed at certain key points of the playthrough... and still very proud of your success Commander Nyx Shepard! Not everyone succeeds in saving everybody, but you knew your crew and made the right decisions throughout your corridor travels, and brought your people home! Kudos milady! There is no better ending to that Suicide Mission (and a considerable number of possible losses along the way)! Sending the wrong Teammate (or no one at all) with your Crew back to the NORMANDY? You don't wanna know... or do you? 😅😅😅 I and so many of us are looking forward to your first steps into ME3... until then have a great time luv! ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH COMMANDER! 🤘😘
Congrats Lucy, you did a great job! I remember my first ME2 playthrough, when I got to the part where you get to play as Joker, I was delighted and terrified; delighted because Joker is like the little brother I always wanted (personality-wise, not physically), and I wanted to play as him or have him as a squad-mate since ME1, but terrified that I was gonna do something wrong - move too fast, or not fast enough - and he would have some sort of accident because of it and end up dying because of me... And I ended up being right; just like you, in that part where you have to wait for the Collectors to move away before you continue, I moved too soon and got him killed. Then, I did it again... and again... and again, for about five times before my stupid brain figured out that I should probably wait a bit, and not keep rushing for that door like an idiot (I kept thinking that, if I was fast enough, I could run through it and lock it behind me so the Collector couldn't get me... 🤡😅) Anyway, congrats again, and I'll see you at the Arrival!
I've loved watching you play through the trilogy. Seeing somebody react to all of these epic moments for the first time brings me back to when I first experienced them when the games first came out. ME2 is still one of my favorite games of all-time, between the fantastic squadmates, the interesting DLC, and that final mission, which is still one of the best final missions in all of gaming. I can't wait for you to start ME3!
Someone should have told you SMGs are not good vs armour 😅 Great instincts wanting to keep your strongest soldiers in the fire teams and taking the squishier members with you.
That was a great playthrough. You had fantastic reasoning skills about who to take for each part. This mission is one of my favorites, since the stakes are so high. Onto ME3!
What a fucking treat!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Can't wait for ME3. Also, I was so scared you were gonna pick Maranda as your biotic specialist. She 100% gets someone killed if you do despite the fact that she volunteers LOL kinda cheeky from the developers there
@LucyusMaximus oh, and one thing I'd recommend is watching a RUclips video that shows the death of all squadmates through the suicide mission, on the ship and during the mission.
@LucyusMaximus getting with Kelly won't damage your relationship with Liara. You can also watch that little cutscene you missed on RUclips. If you had taken too long rescuing everyone, either half the crew, including Kelly, would've died. Or only the good Doctor would've been left, if you took even longer
Yes, it looks like you missed a cut scene. Rephrase: it looks like the game glitched and didn't show you one, the one that shows you how Kasumi and you and Miranda ended up under those plates after fighting the larva. It's a good cut scene, too. Very dramatic. My first time through I did pretty well, only losing Thane. I sent him into the tube. Full disclosure, I considered him disposable my first time through. I had none of the DLCs, so Zaeed and Kasumi weren't there, and I'd only seen my space girlfriend Liara for the little bit on Ilium. No Shadow Broker DLC. Congrats on the clean sweep on the first try. =)
Finally at this part in my binge, haven't started the video yet but very excited to be almost caught up to your live streams, at the time of this comment it looks like there's just the stream for Arrival and the start of ME3. I found your channel around the time you posted the Reaper IFF video and just had to start the journey from the beginning because the Mass Effect trilogy is one of my favorite stories and seeing it through fresh eyes is always so interesting. Can't wait to catch you live soon!
Some of the ships in the debris field are amusing for SF nerds who recognise them from other settings, I think the Nostromo from Aliens is one example. And *you* saved everyone by your choices, by picking the right people for each job and having loyal people and upgrading the Normandy to the fullest. Not that it's easy to mess up to the point that Shepard dies without deliberately making the choices needed, but watching Shepard fall because everyone else was dead and Joker can't pull you up is only amusing once.
1:53:00 I've heard that Miranda's a good choice to accompany to the final mission; I've never been sure why. Loved that last interaction between her and The Illusive Man.
We can now say why we said not to get the IFF until you did everything else; if you wait too long most of the crew dies (including Kelly and Gabby), if you don't do all the loyalty missions some of your team dies. In fact I can now give info without spoilers, please feel free to ignore if you're not interested; For each of the armour, weapon and shield upgrades to the Normandy that you don't have you lose a team member. You pinpointed the tech guys; Tali, Kasumi and Legion are all correct choices. Despite her bad attitude Miranda does work as squad leader both times, as does Garrus of course and, oddly, Jacob (which I don;t get, he's reliable but not really a leader). In addition to Samara Jack can do the field but the other biotics (including Miranda, despite what she says) haven't got the power. You made the perfect decision for the crew escort because the escort automatically survives and because of how the Hold The Line bit works; every character has a hidden "Defence" stat that is pooled to decide if anyone dies doing that. It goes way up if they're loyal but different characters have different scores. Grunt's is the highest so he should always hold the door, Mordin's is lowest and he'll likely die if left to defend the door. Tali, Kasumi, Jack and Miranda are the best choices to take for the boss fight, as their defence stats are fairly low and your final team always survives as long as they're loyal. Every wrong choice kills a party member. So all in all your choices were perfect and decided for all the right reasons, well done!
I suppose Miranda has been briefed and prepared by the PR team to deal with possible Shepard's questions. She has the answers ready, because they had been readied for her. TIM knows what Shepard met and saw, and knows Commander's psych profile, so over the two years Miranda was working on Shep's functionality people worked to have her prepared for dispersion of Shep's doubts and questions. Miranda may not have the necessary knowledge to make a moral assessment by herself, but was well prepared to oversee the mission for Cerberus and knows on the touchy subject was had been prepared for her (like legaends for spies or secret agents); and she herself not being part of any of those, has no reason not to believe Cerberus (who took care of her and kept her safe). So yeah, she will have her answers ready and yeah, they will sound rehearsed. And mind you - she tells no lies, even if her truths are limited.
The human reaper larva is easily my favorite boss fight in any game, and probably one of my favorite fights period. It’s so indescribably stressful. The size of it, the animation of it just STARING and shifting around so eerily human-like and yet also so unimaginable/out of this world, and god the SOUNDS. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again-no game nails making the player feel small, scared, and outmatched like Mass Effect does. Also ngl I ship Tali, Garrus, and Shepard as an OT3 so I fought the Reaper larva with them and it was just so rewarding to go through something like THAT with Shepard’s closest companions by her side. Also had one more thing to do (I think it was the Legion loyalty mission?) still before I did the last one, and as a result I lost some of the non-squad crew (mainly the two people that work with Tali) because I was too slow. I looked up some information afterwards and apparently if I had done literally anything else in addition to that one extra mission, I would have also lost Doctor Chakwas. Now that’s a scary thought! She’s like the Normandy’s mother, imagine losing her 😭
I love this series. And this final mission will always remain one of the most iconic missions in video gaming. And congrats for making the best possible choices in selecting the specialists for the tasks. But the hard part is yet to come. You saw it yourself. The Reapers are coming. Get ready Lucy. The fate of the galaxy rests on your shoulders. Best of luck Commander.
I love how emotional you are about the squad. Early in the vid - the walk around to catch up. 👍 Something I've pretty much believed in all my life is the importance of the willing suspension of disbelief when engaging with any creative work - games like Mass Effect encourage it. Ps. Great makeup.
I get a bit of a kick out of you being so happy that everyone survived you didn't even register or react to the legion of Reapers coming to the Milky Way XD
What a ride we come a long way since ME1. I really enjoyed it and you really can be proud of yourself as by instinct you basically saw through the entire game mechanics of this mission. Everything about how you wrapped it around your head was correct. Like for example bulky squadmates indeed to have a hidden score what really does come in handy during the last stand of your squadmates. Maybe you are interested what could have all gone wrong. You could react to it or just watch it for yourself and its no spoilers for a Renegade playthrough aswell. Its quite interesting. Other probably mentioned it already. I often see its a popular demand under final missions videos of ME2. (Yep checked your community post xD looking forward to it).
You did well girl! Very good! I am proud of you. Can still remember my first lap, I was so nervous about making a mistake that could cost someone their life, I was almost nauseous.
Miranda's resistance and defensiveness about Cerberus parallels that of an abuse victim who KNOWS what is being done to them is wrong, but haven't yet come to terms with it... like internally trying to deny "and I let it happen" guilt keeping her with Cerberus in a very similar way.
You did a great job! Understanding your team is what saves them, and you showed a great understanding of their strengths and who to put where. Spoilers of who can do what jobs below. . . . Ship shields, armor, and weapon upgrades each save a life on approach. For loyal squad members: Tech in the vent: Tali, Kasumi, or Legion Squad B Lead: Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda Biotic Specialist: Jack or Samara Distraction team lead: same as Squad B Crew escort: Anyone loyal, but Mordin is a good choice as he is most likely to die in later stages. Guard the door: Each squad mate has points they contribute. If the total score is high enough, none of them die. Garrus, Grunt, and Zaeed have the highest values. Finally, there is one choice for each job that can do it even if they aren't loyal, so if you're really careful, you _can_ get zero deaths with nobody loyal. Still need the ship upgrades though.
I definitely agree with you re the flirty dialogue choices seeming extremely thirsty. Apparently they were originally much less blatant, but in playtesting they found that some players were ending up either flirting or turning down romance by mistake, so they went with the more obvious versions. (They didn’t change the spoken lines, just the dialogue wheel.)
You made the same decisions as I did. Cool. Oh, and for the record, even Illusive Man's voice actor went on record to say he wouldn't trust him either.
I gotta admit that I was kinda edgy the whole time you were doing this when we were with you on Twitch, but you made totally logical choices in the quest to keep everybody's hearts beating. It was such an exciting ride. The one thing I was a little disappointed about was that you didn't bring 'The Cain'. If you use it, it will pretty much destroy the best part of the human reaper. However, that was just a little niggle for me. Everything else was bloody excellent! Now, onto the next and all the emotions that you and the rest of us will all go through. With this story, shooting stuff is great fun, but the story arc is what we all love about the Trilogy! I believe you will love ME3 even more because of the stories that evolve. Not long to go and I'll be planted in my seat watching you dealing with it! Love ya, Lucy! Bring on the action!
I've been playing videogames for over thirty years now. I played this game immediately when it was released back in 2012. Up to this day I have never ever played a mission, quest or sequence in a videogame which is even nearly as fun, compelling and thrilling as the Suicide Mission in ME2. This was Bioware's peak in regards to storytelling in sync with gameplay in Videogames. Unfortunately after that they never reached this level of perfection.
Congrats on bringing everyone home alive. I highly recommend watching an intentionally bad playthrough to see just how bad the Suicide Mission can get. But to avoid possible spoilers, I'd wait until after ME3.
I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your play through of the legendary edition. This story is amazing and to see your genuine reactions as a first time mass effect fan is enjoyable to say the least. I’m proud to have been part of this journey with you as a viewer and I look forwards to seeing what choices and the steps of this final journey you take in the mass effect universe. I will warn you, Mass Effect three is an emotional roller coaster and a half. Prepare to cry at parts and have many conflicting feelings and fears as the final chapter in one of the greatest sci-fi series ever told unfolds. One question: will you play Mass Effect andromeda after you finish three? It’s not as good as the original trilogy but it is by no means bad, as a game on its own without being compared to the trilogy, is is a great game. It just doesn’t really live up to the legacy of the trilogy. The worlds are bigger and the game is more detailed as well.
Thank you for being here! ☺️ I've heard that ME3 is quite a ride so i'll be bracing myself. And yes, I will be playing Andromeda when I finish the trilogy!
Sorry.... i was so impatient... i did not wait for your youtube version of the episode and i watched the version you have in twitch... good job on not loosing anyone! On my own playthrough, i did the games in reversed order.. i played me3 first then me2 before I realized that it was a trilogy.. not a stand alone game 😅😅😅 so when i played me 1 i had to do my second playthrough of me 2 and me3 after wards... I lost kasumi mordin tali and thane during my first suicide mission 😅😅😅
Kasumi's grenades can shut down Harbinger's powers. Instead of shooting those fireballs at you, all he can do is run around and rant about how direct intervention is necessary. Also, her grenades are one-hit KO against Husks.
Kudos! Considering that was your first playthrough, I don’t think you could have done any better!🥳 The only thing I would have changed is my final squad, but then you wouldn’t have got to see Miranda hand in her notice, so swings and roundabouts. Interestingly, if you had chosen the same squad but the other way round, Miranda would have been holding the communicator and you would have missed it! I’ll say congratulations and can’t wait to see the next instalment now in case you choose not to read on into spoiler territory. See you in the next one!🎉 **SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT** There’s a lot of places you can lose teammates on this mission: You lose one for each upgrade you don’t do (shields, armour, cannon). If you chose the wrong infiltrator (you need Tali, Kasumi, or Legion) the wrong squad leader (Garus, Miranda, or Jacob), or if either of them is not tagged as loyal, the infiltrator will die. You did good going through the relay straight away, if you did any more missions here, half the crew (including Kelly, the two engineers, and the mess sergeant) get liquified. If you do more than 3, only Dr Chakwas survives. If you don’t send an escort, all surviving crew die. If you do, but they aren’t loyal, the survivors get there but the escort dies. For the biotics, only Jack and Samara/Morinth can succeed (and only if they are loyal). Any other choice results in one of your two squadmates being pick off by the swarm. For the other team leader, it’s the same as the first section, only this time if you chose wrong, it’s the leader who dies. (I saw one video where they chose Mordin, and he took a bullet as he came through the door. His last words were “tell them I held the line”.🫡) For the end game, anyone who is loyal will survive going with you to the boss fight, but the holding team has a big mathematical calculation determining if anyone dies. Garrus, Grunt, and Zaeed are worth three points. Kasumi, Tali, Mordin, and Jack are worth 0. everyone else is worth one. You also get +1 for each loyal member. If the *average* value of the team is less than 2, two people will die. If it’s less than 1, three will die. If both your squad die, there’s no one to pull you up and you die, too. I think the worst case scenario leaves Joker and the doctor alone on a Normandy that’s too badly damaged to get away before the detonation. So… yeah. You did amazingly well to not loose **anyone** on your first go!!!🍾
If you're ever curious about all the possible choices, look up "Mass effect 2 suicide mission chart" it's pretty good if you're looking to craft a particular narrative for a particular playthrough
One little trick for this last mission. Try not to kill the body harbinger is in. He just assumes control of another Collector’s body. Kill all the other Collectors first, so Harbinger has no other body to go into. I always hated killing Harbinger multiple times in one fight.
My first playthrough, I also managed to keep all squadmates alive, but I did the IFF mission too early and lost most of the crew. I think only Chakwas survived.
The "releasing control" part is so fucking sad, this is the end of whatever was left of the protheans and in their last moment it seemed to realize what happened to them :(
Me again, nice job especially considering you did this blind! Weird that it skipped that cutscene, if you haven't already I recommend looking it up it's not super important but it's a cool scene.
No casualties in both fighters and crew. Good job. Now you're all prepared for Mass Effect 3. But before that there is the Arrival DLC. It's optional so it's your call to do it or not.
It was kind of an interesting scene, and I guess serves to 'raise the stakes' of the final mission, but I always thought it was odd that literally everyone who knows which end of a gun makes the loud noises would all pile into the shuttle to go to the next mission (which, as most players who would save the Omega-4 Relay for last would not actually have a mission for them to go towards) only for Shepard to pick two of them to come out with her while everyone else stays in the shuttle and eats all the chips. There are chips on the Normandy. I wonder how that abduction would have gone if Shepard didn't drag her entire team with her on a trip to the space market.
Considering that Shepard's team was put together specifically to beat the Collectors, they'd be able to repel the attack. Ostensibly, you take the shuttle to your last mission (generally Legion's loyalty mission), but with all the variables it would be too difficult to integrate it into any specific mission, as it would have to be prepped for every mission the player could potentially have left at this point.
I would have appreciated having a third option: keeping the station intact, but for Alliance - or even the Council (yes, even these pyjaks) - benefits. For Cerberus? No. Not even my most renegade Shepards. These ones are ruthless, yes, but not stupid^^ NB : good management, well done!
Anyone working there would be exposed to indoctrination, plus all the technology would be fueled by organic material - processed people. Using the base for anything would corrupt, and they'd be committing genocide just to run it.
The best squadmates for the Suicide Mission are; Tech Specialist: Tali, Legion, or Kasumi 2nd Squad Leader: Garrus or Miranda Biotic Specialist: Samara or Jack Crew Escort: Tali or Mordin
I was seeing the argument about keeping the base or not, but when push comes to shove, it's a moot one. The keeping of the schematics and scientific knowledge would always be better when facing an unknown enemy. Mordin even talk about unethical tests... however... Will this knowlegde be shared along the Alliance and all the other species so everyone can protect themselves better against the Reapers? Will Cerberus share it? No, right? Then there is no choice to make aside from destroying it.
32:29 Daisy Bell was the first recording of a robotic voice singing. Albeit a result of human programming the recording is often perceived as eerie, definitely not human but also you can tell what it's saying. (SPOILER FOR 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY) The chorus was also the last vocalizations said by HAL 9000 as it was being forcefully shutdown, which is probably where people best know the song from. (SPOILER END) 39:59 This is often perceived as Miranda being the bitchy boss bitch she is but this is her main job on the ship. As first mate she is responsible for the crew and their discipline. Sure, it's cold, but she just came back from a routine mission to find the ship empty and the AI unshackled which is pretty much the worst case imaginable. Others have probably spilled how in each section you can choose poorly and kill your crewmates so I won't delve there. (Btw nice choices, almost like you had a guide ready, or just knew your crew well enough to know that eg. Mordin, while being the tech guy, is a bad choice for the first one as he is more of a biologist than a hacker) It would be fun to watch you react to a worst suicide run scenario where Shepard gets every crewmate, shipmate, Chakwas, even him/herself killed.
since it's obvious EDI was incorrect about why this particular Reaper was being given a human form, I can't help but wonder if there's something else to it since it was humanity that destroyed Sovereign. was this some form of "honoring" mankind, mocking us or was it just an attempt to build a new breed of Reaper? considering it would've have strengths regular Reapers don't have, I imagine this model would've been an absolute nightmare given that it would probably be significantly faster and more agile than other Reapers on the ground and even capable of wielding tools when not using its ranged weapon.
ngl I kinda panicked when I realised that you seemed to have skipped part of the final cutscene without noticing lol, still a wonderful playthrough overall, just a shame you missed a bit
I had to redo this mission because he died and it was so sad bc during the cutscene Shep didn’t even have time to react. She just jumped over his body, which was crumpled up on the ground like a dead spider 😭 it was pathetic I felt so bad I just redid the whole mission. After that no one died tho which was nice
That's actually not really true. Whether or not Mordin dies in the final part of the mission is determined by other factors. See, Mordin is the most likely to die character during the final Hold The Line. The actually order of who would die at that point is: Mordin > Tali > Kasumi > Jack > Miranda > Jacob > Garrus > Samara > Legion > Thane > Zaeed > Grunt. But whether a squad member lives or dies is determined by an average point value determined on who makes up the group, and whether or not they are loyal. 4 Points: Grunt, Zaeed, Garrus 2 Points: Thane, Legion, Jacob, Miranda, Samara / Morinth 1 Point: Jack, Kasumi, Tali, Mordin You just need an average above two. So be sure not to send Grunt, Zaeed, or Garrus on the escort mission and reserve them for holding the line. Then you should score fine, and Mordin will live.
@@KittyBoom360 I usually send Zaeed on the escort mission and Mordin is fine; the only 2 deciding factors seem to be that you do Mordin's Loyalty Mission, and that you don't take Grunt or Garrus with you for the final boss battle. In my very first playthrough, before the Kasumi and Zaeed DLC), I took both Grunt and Garrus with me, and of course Mordin ended up dying - when I first saw the body, I thought it was some other, random Salarian - and I was PISSED, and couldn't believe it, because I was told that as long as I did all the upgrades and the Loyalty Missions, everyone was guaranteed to live. Later, when I heard about the Grunt and Garrus thing I was even more pissed, and I still don't like it, because it's so stupidly random; the game gives you ZERO indication about that stipulation, and there's no way to just randomly figure out that you shouldn't take either one of those characters with you, Whoever programmed that into the game is an asshole and an idiot.
Why a human reaper.... the minds inside Sovereign called themselves Nazara. The human reaper would have eventually been installed INSIDE a Sovereign class shell The 'Baby" was nowhere near 2KM in length.
Your entire me2 playthrough had a lot of skipped dialogue and it looked like when you killed the reaper prototype itskipped the scene where you end up in the rubble. Remaster bugs i guess.
WE DID IT! I'm still in shock. How did your final ME2 mission pan out? 😮💨

Thanks for watching! ☺️
I was so proud of her! 👏
Yes she is underrated
1:55:57 It seems that when switching to biotics, back to your guns, you skipped the scene of the reaper falling down. Knocking everything on top of you and your squad. That's why they're all covered in debris in the next shot.
1:55:54 To be fair, Shepard and Steven's adventures can be summarized by the power of friendship, even if one is much more violent than the other LOL
Awww so true!! 💖
So glad you're enjoying it, thank you 🥰
oh no!! yeah, you missed a cutscene after the final boss. :^(
i don't know why it got skipped, but i do suggest rewatching the ending on here if you haven't already
and thank you for playing mass effect, i really enjoyed this playthrough and your commentary. i'm super excited to see you continue your journey!
Thanks so much for watching! Yeah I didn't press anything and it skipped for some reason... ☹️
@@LucyusMaximus(I believe) square is the skip button on PS, and it’s also the reload button, so I think you might’ve hit it to reload and accidentally skipped it.
@@LucyusMaximus You definitely pressed something.
If that music in the final battles doesn't get your blood pumping and give you chills then you're a Collector 😃
Great job, you made all the right decisions. I love Joker exacting his revenge with the assault rifle, to make sure Shepard gets aboard. I love Legion character model, I love how expressive Legion is even without having a face that can conveying emotions they way organics can.
Seeing Joker hanging out of the Normandy gave me so many feels. MVP! 👏
Oh nooo! 💔 Thanks for being here
@@LucyusMaximus Please watch the combat tutorial... Grunt and Mordon would not have ignored your situation and would have been more helpful. on pc you hold the shift key it freezes the combat and allows you to tell your sqadmates not only who to shoot at but what weapon to use. you are using some sort of game console so I don't know what button does that.
@@jwolfeshelton4360 Ease off buddy. She did fine.
Congratulations on completing ME2! I'm so happy that you enjoyed it as much as you did! :) And great job on not losing anyone! Can't wait for the ME3 journey to begin!
Thank you so much! 🩵
Congratulations on finishing without any losing a single squad mate :) Can't wait to join you for Arrival and ME3
Thank you 🥰
@@LucyusMaximus If memory serves you don't technically need to do Arrival since it was made for new players who never played ME1 or ME2, but it would be lovely to see you do it anyway :)
🤯
02:01:39 will never stop giving me goosebumps no matter how many times I see the Reapers arrive
You don't wanna know... or do you? 😅😅😅
I and so many of us are looking forward to your first steps into ME3... until then have a great time luv! ONCE MORE INTO THE BREACH COMMANDER! 🤘😘
🩵🩵🩵
Anyway, congrats again, and I'll see you at the Arrival!
Thanks 😄 What a ride huh?? Whew, on to ME3!
Yayy !!! congrats darling! cant wait for ME3
Thank you!! So excited!
Thank you so much! 🥰
Someone should have told you SMGs are not good vs armour 😅 Great instincts wanting to keep your strongest soldiers in the fire teams and taking the squishier members with you.
Thanks, I honestly wasn't sure if I was making the right choices at a couple points! 😮💨
That was a great playthrough. You had fantastic reasoning skills about who to take for each part. This mission is one of my favorites, since the stakes are so high. Onto ME3!
Thank you! ☺️💜
What a fucking treat!! Thanks so much for sharing this with us. Can't wait for ME3. Also, I was so scared you were gonna pick Maranda as your biotic specialist. She 100% gets someone killed if you do despite the fact that she volunteers LOL kinda cheeky from the developers there
Thank you for watching! 😄🩵
i love your channel so much , you’re going great places i know it
That is so sweet, thank you! 🥰
If you watch Legion long enough, he actually starts dancing the Robot
Chat mentioned it so I waited for aaages and it didn't happen ☹️
@LucyusMaximus were you standing next to him or just looking at him? If you were looking at him towards the entrance, it will be more likely to happen
Thanks for watching!
It's not a glitch. It can happen when the player is still pushing buttons thinking the fight is still going and accidentally skip the cutscene
Right on, thank you so much for watching! Glad you're enjoying
We can now say why we said not to get the IFF until you did everything else; if you wait too long most of the crew dies (including Kelly and Gabby), if you don't do all the loyalty missions some of your team dies. In fact I can now give info without spoilers, please feel free to ignore if you're not interested;
For each of the armour, weapon and shield upgrades to the Normandy that you don't have you lose a team member.
Thanks! ☺️
She’s like the Normandy’s mother, imagine losing her 😭
Giant bebe iz very spooky 😰
I love this series. And this final mission will always remain one of the most iconic missions in video gaming. And congrats for making the best possible choices in selecting the specialists for the tasks. But the hard part is yet to come. You saw it yourself. The Reapers are coming. Get ready Lucy. The fate of the galaxy rests on your shoulders. Best of luck Commander.
I love how emotional you are about the squad. Early in the vid - the walk around to catch up. 👍
Something I've pretty much believed in all my life is the importance of the willing suspension of disbelief when engaging with any creative work - games like Mass Effect encourage it.
Ps. Great makeup.
Thank you! ☺️
I get a bit of a kick out of you being so happy that everyone survived you didn't even register or react to the legion of Reapers coming to the Milky Way XD
Oh I saw, I was just too stunned to react or fully process what I was seeing 😂
What a ride we come a long way since ME1. I really enjoyed it and you really can be proud of yourself as by instinct you basically saw through the entire game mechanics
of this mission. Everything about how you wrapped it around your head was correct. Like for example bulky squadmates indeed to have a hidden score what really does come in handy during the last stand of your squadmates.
Maybe you are interested what could have all gone wrong. You could react to it or just watch it for yourself and
its no spoilers for a Renegade playthrough aswell.
Its quite interesting. Other probably mentioned it already. I often see its a popular demand under final
missions videos of ME2. (Yep checked your community post xD looking forward to it).
Thank you so much for watching! What a ride
You did well girl! Very good! I am proud of you. Can still remember my first lap, I was so nervous about making a mistake that could cost someone their life, I was almost nauseous.
Thank you! I almost felt sick too, what a ride
For loyal squad members:
Tech in the vent: Tali, Kasumi, or Legion
Squad B Lead: Garrus, Jacob, or Miranda
Biotic Specialist: Jack or Samara
Distraction team lead: same as Squad B
Crew escort: Anyone loyal, but Mordin is a good choice as he is most likely to die in later stages.
Her: see you never! BYE-EEEE
Harbinger with his legions of reapers: you thot?
You did it! Always excited for more :)
More to come! 😉🩵
This game is literally the Suicide Squad. Congrats on getting everyone out alive.
Another great playthrough!! 🙌🏾
Thank you! ☺️
At 2:07:57 I broke down in a fit of laughter and I got a headache and start coughing. No regrets; it was priceless
Great play through and amazing job choosing the right squad mates for each role not many get it right the first time. 👏 👍
You made the same decisions as I did. Cool. Oh, and for the record, even Illusive Man's voice actor went on record to say he wouldn't trust him either.
I can't wait to watch you play through Mass Effect 3, it's gonna be OOO WHEE! Congrats on the flawless suicide mission!
Thank you!! 🥰
Just in time! I was getting a bit bored.
Time for the (almost) finale of ME2!
Let's gooo!! 😄
“The only one who died was the giant baby” - pretty sure the Illusive Man is still alive, unfortunately.
Well done to play Mass effect 2 without losing anyone 😊I enjoyed your videos
Looking for Mass effect 3
Thank you! ☺️
Harbinger: *Neutralize Commander Shepard!*

Harbinger: .... *That was easier than i thought.*

I presume that you're doing the "Arrival" DLC last??
Yep!
Congrats on bringing everyone home alive.
I highly recommend watching an intentionally bad playthrough to see just how bad the Suicide Mission can get. But to avoid possible spoilers, I'd wait until after ME3.
Yay you did it! All crew survived!
Fantastic job!❤ never doubted you 😊 you know your squad mates well!
Thank you!! 💖
Sorry.... i was so impatient... i did not wait for your youtube version of the episode and i watched the version you have in twitch... good job on not loosing anyone!
Oh nooo! 😯
Kasumi's grenades can shut down Harbinger's powers. Instead of shooting those fireballs at you, all he can do is run around and rant about how direct intervention is necessary. Also, her grenades are one-hit KO against Husks.
Halo reference at 56:50 just above the nose of the Normandy there is a silhouette of the Pillar of Autumn.
woah
Kudos! Considering that was your first playthrough, I don’t think you could have done any better!🥳
The only thing I would have changed is my final squad, but then you wouldn’t have got to see Miranda hand in her notice, so swings and roundabouts.
Interestingly, if you had chosen the same squad but the other way round, Miranda would have been holding the communicator and you would have missed it!
I’ll say congratulations and can’t wait to see the next instalment now in case you choose not to read on into spoiler territory. See you in the next one!🎉
**SPOILERS BEYOND THIS POINT**
There’s a lot of places you can lose teammates on this mission:
You lose one for each upgrade you don’t do (shields, armour, cannon).
His last words were “tell them I held the line”.🫡)
For the end game, anyone who is loyal will survive going with you to the boss fight, but the holding team has a big mathematical calculation determining if anyone dies.
Can't wait for your ME3 playthrough 🤩
Thanks i'm so excited!
What is that song you keep humming? It remind's me of Fred Frith' Norrgården Nyvla.
Congratulations sweetie well played and well done. :)😊😊😊
Thank you! ☺️💙
Wow, what a journey! That was awesome! Can't wait to see the next game! Boop!
Whoo thank you!
Well played! I needed 2nd try cause i didn't send Mordin away and he died at first run.
Yes!! Looks like you had a blast!
I hope you manage to play the Arrival DLC before me3
A blast was had! Arrival is coming next 😉
Got a perfect commercial for your playthrough... something like Nyx makeup. :D
Ha, nice 😂
The "releasing control" part is so fucking sad, this is the end of whatever was left of the protheans and in their last moment it seemed to realize what happened to them :(
☹️💔
WE DID IT!
🥳🥳🥳
Me again, nice job especially considering you did this blind! Weird that it skipped that cutscene, if you haven't already I recommend looking it up it's not super important but it's a cool scene.
I'll check it out!
Lucy: Did we save everyone?! :O
Reapers: Hold our beers! >:(
Looool
I’m sooo looking forward to watch you play ME3. ☺️
Yay!! Thanks for watching 🥰
No casualties in both fighters and crew. Good job. Now you're all prepared for Mass Effect 3. But before that there is the Arrival DLC. It's optional so it's your call to do it or not.
Thanks! Arrival is done and will be uploaded soon ☺️
@@LucyusMaximus Than you know the obvious. The Reapers are the next big enemies in Mass Effect 3. And I do mean BIG.
These ones are ruthless, yes, but not stupid^^
NB : good management, well done!
Anyone working there would be exposed to indoctrination, plus all the technology would be fueled by organic material - processed people.
Using the base for anything would corrupt, and they'd be committing genocide just to run it.
1:07:00 Given the edits, why do I get the feeling that Twitch Chat utterly ruined the "blind" aspect of this otherwise-fabulous blind playthrough.
I'm commander Shepard and this is my favourite content on youtube

The best squadmates for the Suicide Mission are;
Tech Specialist: Tali, Legion, or Kasumi
2nd Squad Leader: Garrus or Miranda
Biotic Specialist: Samara or Jack
Crew Escort: Tali or Mordin
Awesome 🎉🎉🎉
😄
(SPOILER END)
39:59 This is often perceived as Miranda being the bitchy boss bitch she is but this is her main job on the ship.
Mordin, while being the tech guy, is a bad choice for the first one as he is more of a biologist than a hacker)
It would be fun to watch you react to a worst suicide run scenario where Shepard gets every crewmate, shipmate, Chakwas, even him/herself killed.
since it's obvious EDI was incorrect about why this particular Reaper was being given a human form, I can't help but wonder if there's something else to it since it was humanity that destroyed Sovereign. was this some form of "honoring" mankind, mocking us or was it just an attempt to build a new breed of Reaper? considering it would've have strengths regular Reapers don't have, I imagine this model would've been an absolute nightmare given that it would probably be significantly faster and more agile than other Reapers on the ground and even capable of wielding tools when not using its ranged weapon.
ngl I kinda panicked when I realised that you seemed to have skipped part of the final cutscene without noticing lol, still a wonderful playthrough overall, just a shame you missed a bit
You should make a reaction video seeing how the suicide mission can go wrong. It would be awesome.
I'm planning on it 😉
52:49 Wow, is this the dialogue you get when you have no romantic partner on the Normandy? I’ve never seen this dialogue option before!
I guess so! I'm romancing Liara but she wasn't available in 2 🩵
Great mission
We made it!
my first attempt i lost Garrus. needless to say i reloaded. had to go about 4 hours back to buy upgrades and finish a few missions. :3
yessss
🔥🔥🔥
Kelly noticed you didn't visit Liara before the suicide mission. 👀👀 (lol you didn't miss anything)
Such a bummer that shadow broker Liara basically says nothing ☹️
Good job on picking Mordin as the crew guard. He would die randomly if you didn't. Awesome game right?
Ahhh poor Mordin! 😓
@@jittercritter dude, my 1st playthrough he died as well, even though he's loyal. I had to redo the mission.
That's actually not really true. Whether or not Mordin dies in the final part of the mission is determined by other factors. See, Mordin is the most likely to die character during the final Hold The Line. The actually order of who would die at that point is:
Mordin > Tali > Kasumi > Jack > Miranda > Jacob > Garrus > Samara > Legion > Thane > Zaeed > Grunt.
But whether a squad member lives or dies is determined by an average point value determined on who makes up the group, and whether or not they are loyal.
4 Points: Grunt, Zaeed, Garrus
2 Points: Thane, Legion, Jacob, Miranda, Samara / Morinth
1 Point: Jack, Kasumi, Tali, Mordin
You just need an average above two.
Later, when I heard about the Grunt and Garrus thing I was even more pissed, and I still don't like it, because it's so stupidly random; the game gives you ZERO indication about that stipulation, and there's no way to just randomly figure out that you shouldn't take either one of those characters with you,
Whoever programmed that into the game is an asshole and an idiot.
Why a human reaper.... the minds inside Sovereign called themselves Nazara. The human reaper would have eventually been installed INSIDE a Sovereign class shell The 'Baby" was nowhere near 2KM in length.
Your going into combat and you don't think that upgrades to the med bay are a need
The med bay was not a combat upgrade, it was literally "remove scars from face." I had every other upgrade available.
They're coming 2:02:18
Your entire me2 playthrough had a lot of skipped dialogue and it looked like when you killed the reaper prototype itskipped the scene where you end up in the rubble. Remaster bugs i guess.
Only took 400 years to beat the story.
