All that muck you put out and your storage bin was still full, lets hope there are more dry days than wet. Good idea sharing equipment, certainly helpful when you have a rush on. Katie was an ace on that tractor, she did a brilliant job rolling. 👍
Great video Tom I would not worry yourself about dumping a tanker, off slurry I have done it many a time it’s a easy choice,to make sit there and wait or dump and go the maze will love it 👍👍
You are such a hard worker Tom very impressive to see your plans coming forth such a vision for improvement. You have a lot on your plate however you are killing it. Well done Tom🎉🎉
Hi we went to the farm on saturday we brought some goodies snd milkshakes ,saw katie feeding the lambs, saw your dad in the tractor,he was busy,i would av liked to see the cows but its still wet at viewing area hopefully next time From sue your number 1 fan x
Great video Tom, with that spool valve. You can set them so they are either in float or pump so it will never jump out. There's a dial on the back by the adjuster for the speed. I think you've got to put it in float first though.
Luke has such a big roll and so committed to the farm is he related so he shares the rewards . He just seems like part of the family maybe I missed this been watching for years love the videos and milk lol 😂 hope to visit your farm this year thanks for keeping me entertained so much better than the tv lol 😂
Get it on there mate. It’s handy to identify next years maize fields now, and start loading it up with slurry and box muck over summer or whenever it’s dry 👌
Keep her 🔥 Tom 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 also I said it before AND I'll say it again IF you can harvest your maize early enough (under plastic will help) you could set grass straight away before winter comes in 🤞🏻 weather permitted 🤞🏻😀
Another great video love seeing ur progress. Just a point on when you talked about the reception pit. You should look into putting a gate valve directly onto your slurry tower. U would fill tanker in seconds with the pressure of slurry instead of sucking with vacuum pump and just use reception pit to completely empty. Hopefully you understand what I’m saying. Great work 👍
Fields here in Maine are still really wet, high ground you can safely drive over (mostly) but low ground forget it...we've had a lot of rain over the last month plus
You could put the reception point wherever you want, you'll just need to run the suction pipe inside the channel to the deepest point. You could also install a submersible pump at the deepest point and use some of your solar power to run the pump.
Tom on wet ground it’s better to run wide open and do multiple applications the speed keeps you moving. So it takes 3 trips but you don’t get stuck and ruts and compacting doesn’t matter because you’re going to plow before planting.
Given the previous state of the fields I reckon you did really well to only get stuck once. Dont be so hard on yourself. It happens (nearly said something else - you can guess!)
If you turn grass fields into a maize field the maize has plenty of food coming from the grass soil that is fermenting throughout the season. No need to put on loads of manure on it the first year. Unless you got plenty of it ofcourse.
👀🙄🐾👍 With the rubber cone on the tanker rather than making the hole bigger your better to put parallel cut in the cone so as foreign objects can just blow out the cone
As a city lad I have heard of farmers swapping🚜 tractor keys in a certain context😉 but never realized that so many other farming implements were readily shared and swapped around. It must drive your road insurance underwriters mad with confusion. Cue the opening tune from Neighbours.
be a while before that field you got stuck in is going to be dry enough to drill.......i've heard of maize being drilled in June so i don't think theres a problem if you had to wait a couple of weeks for it to dry out
Tom has the case got a free flow return ? It sounds like the return from the macerator is struggling to return the oil back to the tractor causing back pressure. Ask the dealer if one can be fitted this will dump the oil in the the tractor backend without having to return the oil through the spool valve.
30th! T.G.I.F.! Happy Friday morning Tom,Luke, Hiedie, and Anna? And the mighty ginger warrior with a mustache and repaired back! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
I have allways wounder what the rolling are good for?😊 like dosent it make more compacting on the soil? And big machines compact the soil so much that the grass dies after few years, Youst trying to figure out🤩 some hints on this?🤩🤩
Just let Tom do what he wants when he wants that’s with the farm and with his videos, the lad’s class just watch if you want don’t watch if you don’t want too 👍🏻
I seam to recall haring you talk about doing paddock/rotational grazing at some point. Is that still something you are interested in working toward or did turn out to not be something you could do with your space?
Not that the Major was at fault and it’s your macerater tank but I used to work for Major and free flow returns for hydraulic oil were the bane of my existence !!!!!! Customer after customer after customer “ My mower controls” or “ My tanker controls aren’t working properly “. I had to stress the importance of this time and time again and also with other big kit working for my local Agco dealer.
Tom - Your constant pump issue, have you tried running it with the return fitting cracked off a little and see if its airlocked? If you try running it with the fitting cracked off so it will leak oil, you know its a tractor issue not dribble bar issue. Might be worth a try if not already sorted it... ;)
Hi Tom, nobody knows your fields like you and your dad, so whatever people say to you won't matter because only you and your dad know your fields and your land 🌽🌽🌽
Why do you need to spray the grass just before ploughing? I’d have thought by the time it comes back through, the maize would out-compete anyway. (To be clear, this is just a genuine question, I am sure there is a very sensible reason that I am unaware of, which is why I work in an office in a city centre)
Anna is an absolute champ! Every time I see her she’s tackling something new and doing her best. Keep it up girl!!
All that muck you put out and your storage bin was still full, lets hope there are more dry days than wet. Good idea sharing equipment, certainly helpful when you have a rush on. Katie was an ace on that tractor, she did a brilliant job rolling. 👍
You’re new crop will be a-maizing 😊
Love and prayers 😇💜
Great work, just remember you can only do what you can do. Don’t kick yourself for things out of your control
great background music Tom, I am still amazed how much rain you get and how green your fields are. We are lucky to get it that green with irrigation
Your learning so much Tom. Your dad must be very proud
Tom….Your videos bring soo much JOY to my life. My only wish is that you would post every day! Can’t get enough of that FARM LIFE!!!
I would pay money to have you livestream rolling fields. It is SO SATISFYING.
Great video Tom I would not worry yourself about dumping a tanker, off slurry I have done it many a time it’s a easy choice,to make sit there and wait or dump and go the maze will love it 👍👍
Things are going well Tom ❤❤❤❤
Brilliant video as always, amazing song towards the end. Great to see all the guys doing different tasks.
Busy times. Enjoying the videos!!
You're doing an amazing job and work so hard
You are such a hard worker Tom very impressive to see your plans coming forth such a vision for improvement.
You have a lot on your plate however you are killing it. Well done Tom🎉🎉
Brilliant video Tom u all work so hard on the farm.👍
Good you added some valves behind your connectors😉😉
Another very interesting video Thank you 😊😊😊😊

Rolling at the correct time promotes grass growth ie: rolling at ideal leaf stages.
Great video Tom, with that spool valve. You can set them so they are either in float or pump so it will never jump out. There's a dial on the back by the adjuster for the speed. I think you've got to put it in float first though.

I think you're doing a good job, even the soft ground issue.
Keep up the good work.
Everyone loves real farm girls and Anna fits the bill perfectly. Go Anna.
Another crackin video Tom. Such a hectic time for you. Hope the TB’n goes well. 👍👍
Keep her 🔥 Tom 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 also I said it before AND I'll say it again IF you can harvest your maize early enough (under plastic will help) you could set grass straight away before winter comes in 🤞🏻 weather permitted 🤞🏻😀
Over here in Ireland we would never plant maize without plastic. It pays for itself 3 times over with yield.
@gerryoconnor8751 yess I know that's why I said it lad! But I doubt Tom will use plastic! That's my bet 😀
Explain what you mean by under plastic, never heard of it here in Canada

Great video, awesome music!
Check the detents on the spool block back of tractor the will be set to spring the spool back not allow it to stay in pump
I am looking forward to the shared farm video not sure when you are getting it out
Bravo to the young ladies that work on your farm. If only the wokey folks down here in the south would take note. I take my hat off to them.
Cracking workers !!
Love your videos Tom. ❤❤
Fields here in Maine are still really wet, high ground you can safely drive over (mostly) but low ground forget it...we've had a lot of rain over the last month plus
Great work and great video 👍😀
Finally muck spreading tom . Brilliant
Great video Tom 😊
another good one Tom .
Great video Tom
Happy cows happy Friday everybody. Be well be you.

A great video Tom
Great video tom love seeing the poo being spread never gets old
Vehicles stuck in muddy fields now that takes my back to my army days in Germany. A power winch would be a useful asset
Another great video 😀🚜👍
Brilliant and very entertaining video. 👍
Big tractors don't make a big mess ! ...operators of big tractors make a big mess
Seem to recall Tom can make a big mess with a small tractor as well 😂😂
Hi there Tom love the music who is it?
24:20 great content again
Excellent video
Nah, you can keep your JCB Fastrak - fine for the road - I'll stick with the Cases 😊 Hope Jo and the wee guy are doing well.👍
👀🙄🐾👍 With the rubber cone on the tanker rather than making the hole bigger your better to put parallel cut in the cone so as foreign objects can just blow out the cone
Good morning farmer Tom and Ginger man !!!!! And family!! You sure how to make noise!! Lol
As a city lad I have heard of farmers swapping🚜 tractor keys in a certain context😉 but never realized that so many other farming implements were readily shared and swapped around. It must drive your road insurance underwriters mad with confusion.
Cue the opening tune from Neighbours.
great video tom
be a while before that field you got stuck in is going to be dry enough to drill.......i've heard of maize being drilled in June so i don't think theres a problem if you had to wait a couple of weeks for it to dry out
Maize after that grass, the maize will grow very well.
thancks
Hey TOM Take a long slow breath.............Now let it out slow.. Don't Sweat the small stuff. Love ya Brother
New Game!!
Every time Tom drives into a field and says: “There’s a bit of grass in here”
You take a sip of milk!!
Know body has that much milk. 😂
Keep your pump on vacuum until you reach the field .
It will stop your splash plate leaking. It will help until you get to fix it properly
I hope you brought cake it's a rule if you get stuck.
Plus points if you make it yourself

Just what I was thinking. If it only ever rotates in one direction free flow return so much better
Awesome music. Zach Bryan can wail.
Morning Tom
Only a farmer could refer to a slurry tanker as being: Sexy! 🤣
Should have wrote Tom p
In the field with the roller...😁
Theres wee dials in beside spools to change one is for constant pumping one cuts it off for like turning a plow and cant remember the other
Still a little wet. I live in Tulsa Oklahoma USA.
would it be worth getting the solids out first if your gonna plough it in?
Cracking footage Tom and did you manage to get the dribble bar fixed 👍🏻👌🏻🚜
U were right to roll. 100%
30th! T.G.I.F.! Happy Friday morning Tom,Luke, Hiedie, and Anna? And the mighty ginger warrior with a mustache and repaired back! Roger in Pierre South Dakota USA
Hello Sir Tom P & family ÷ all employese at the farm! How many are you working togheter right now? Best Regards Peter Eriksson Sweden farmer!❤❤❤
I have allways wounder what the rolling are good for?😊 like dosent it make more compacting on the soil? And big machines compact the soil so much that the grass dies after few years, Youst trying to figure out🤩 some hints on this?🤩🤩
That female that works for you is so cute. I love her eyebrows
The tyres let you down Tom. BKT the only tyre for grip

What speed were u spreading at
More Sunday videos 😢 🙏 ❤
With the hydraulics for the dribble bar have you put the spool into pump I bet you probably have done just a guess

Might be worth a try if not already sorted it... ;)
That bubbler, does it eject loads of methane from the slurry? If so, is that going to be banned?
Rolling will not hurt the grass make the feld much better
Hope Harvey was ok with his jabs?? Much love to you all .
If i lived closer, Dorset, I'd offer to go tanking for you..... after a quick crash course on the tractor.
I just noticed your Tractor windows make grass look greener than it actually is. looking out of an open window the grass is browner.
Don’t panic TP it was 2 June last year before we got it in but we are at 650ft above sea level.
Hi Tom, nobody knows your fields like you and your dad, so whatever people say to you won't matter because only you and your dad know your fields and your land 🌽🌽🌽
EXACTLY
And they still make a bloody mess.
@@donaldtriumph1682 so. It's their. If you can do better on their farm, go prove it.
@@AlleyCat-1 wouldn’t have to prove anything. You just wouldn’t make that amount of mess in the first place.
@@donaldtriumph1682 are you a farmer?
Is that a GPS- on the case?
Which Pitt are you planning on putting the maze in this time?
Tom mate love the videos but please close the back window when you drive
I always wonder why farmers put the gate in the muddiest corner of the field and not the dry bit? 🤔🤭😁
