    *And for the record...I'm a Carb fan too, So carbs guys don't get mad! haha"

    Sorry but a carburetor don't need a
    Laptop
    O2 sensor
    Fuel map
    Computer to operate it.
    I tried Holley sniper power adder and it never was right , blow thru carb IRD Racing has been spot on for two years now.

      Its true and you sounds just like a old school mechanic/racer I know. Hes grown on fuel injection in recent years with stuff ive done but he always says..."at the side of the road I can fix a carb" and he is mostly right on that

    • @JohnGalt-vr3lx
      @JohnGalt-vr3lx Год назад +1

      @@cuttersperformance yeah. You can fix a carb on the side of the road, which is good, because carbs break or lose adjustment much more frequently than efi. It also doesn't bog on a hard launch or suck gas like a carb. I am 55 and I grew up on carbs. I have a 62 galaxie 72 k10 68 riviera and 49 ford. I live at 5000 feet in New Mexico. I don't even think before grab my fuel injected 16 fusion and drive out to Cali and back. Can't do that with a carb without rejetting or running very rich. Plus you don't get gas washing the cylinders like with a carb. Engines last much longer.

      @@JohnGalt-vr3lx You clearly know nothing about carbs. Being old does not mean you know anything about tuning a carb. It just means you're old. That fact that you think carbs bog on a hard launch tells me all I need to know.

    • @JohnGalt-vr3lx
      @JohnGalt-vr3lx Год назад +1

      @@TOMVUTHEPIMP it is impossible to get the proper stochiometry at all rpms with a carb. Carbs often produce a bit more power at wot. I run a 1962 ford galaxie with a 351 in it. At a sea level air pressure, I run 8.8 to 9.3 et on the motor, cuz bottles are for babies. I have won trophies and before I realized the stupidity of it I street raced in east LA which is where I was born and raised. But that's the great thing about America. You can say what you wish. I’ve installed a couple sniper units. The only gripes I have had with them is that the touch screen hand held was pretty cheap/junky and I had to make an extension for the throttle arm/lever on the sniper unit in order to get enough leverage for it to open smoothly. This was about 5-6 years ago though so idk if any improvements have been made since then.

    I just assumed that the only tuning you could do on the system is a hand-held controller, but if you can get in there and tweak the mapping with a laptop, that's a major plus! I know you can on a high-end EFI system, didn't think the Sniper would let you do that.

    Nice video & Truck. I'm ready to trade in my sniper system. But you have given me hope. I don't know anything about these and my "Builder" has tried to tune it 3 times now. He says it runs good and as soon as I drive it runs like crap to me. It back fires and stalled one time. It back fired cruising at 70mph. It sounds and feels like it's only running on 7cyl 350 crate motor. Do you know any one in the vegas are that can tune?
