Another excellent video. I could have used this begore Saturday really but will definately look at it again begore my next big run. I did my first ultra on Saturday and had only previously completed one marathon so i was chuffed with my 13 hr time. The production of this video is excellent. Hopefully lots of people will get to see it as it deserves a wide viewing. Well done Ben
Great video Ben! Love running on trails and need to do much more of it. Ordered the same pack which arrived yesterday so looking forward to testing it out on the weekend :)
Yeah, saw that you'd ordered the Salomon pack. Let me know how you get on with it! Living where you do you must be spoilt for choice for getting out in some lovely countryside!
Great intro video to trails. Keeping the advice simple, so people of any background can consider trail running. Keep up the amazing work for your videos and good luck with all the training for the 2018 races. I've got your 50 mile plan, I'm on week 5 now, is all going well 👍👍
AH, sorry Alex. Keep playing around with Intro's as never find something I like! I'll bring it back one more time maybe for the next video! Thanks for the support
Really awesome video Ben. I'm moving to London from South Africa next week and have been slightly concerned over the lack of elevation in the city, but Surrey looks great. Some solid tips... particularly on the climbs and technical descents.
Hey Dillon. Awesome you're moving to London, welcome! There are lots of awesome trails, but you just have to catch a train most of the time. Box Hill is a good place to start as the North Downs Way goes straight through. I prefer where I ran in this video which is near Leith Hill. So beautiful! Hope your trip over goes ok!
Great video, could you do a video on how you take in water and gels while running at race pace? I am having trouble doing that, so the last two races I have done I did not take in any nutrition. Love the videos.
Great video Ben! I've only been running just over a year, and have not done much hill work - avoiding hills where I can (naughty me!). If I add in a hill repeat session once a week will this translate into a faster pace of running overall? Or will it only help me to climb hills more efficiently?
Matt Lee Thank you Matt! Maybe add it on once every two weeks to start with.. I have a video on doing hills, so check it out. Hills help build leg strength, which translates to increased stride length in road running especially. With trail and mountain ultras you just have to get strong legs to be able to get up the hills at all! All the best with your running, enjoy!
Great - just given that one a watch! I've done a couple of trail events recently which have kind of been a bit of hill training for me but will begin to start incorporating hills into my sessions. I've had a go at strides recently and they really help :)
How do you find good hilly trails? I know there are some good trails near me in Wendover and Ashridge near berkhamstead, which i think you can run to the Dunstable downs.
So lovely to see Surrey country side. I spend 10 years living and working around Farnham . Love it there. Nice People, nice country. Take care
“Listen to your body “ - best advice ever! Enjoy outdoors, enjoy movement and lovely surroundings!
GREAT!!!
Learned a lot.
Greetings from Cabo Verde Islands.
Cheers

More trail advice please, about to do my first one
Great video with great information. Wish you could balance the loudness of the music and your audio a little better. Other than that, thank you!!

Hi Ben, are the pockets of your vest safe to put the go pro and the shorty stick in them?
Where did you get the cap fella?
It was a gift from Strava.. not something you can buy I'm afraid..
