It's going to happen again and again, but you and..Oh wait wrong channel. It's going to keep happening because when Viacom's in trouble of losing popularity, they do what they did recently.

And to be honest, I would want that same feeling for kids of the future. Thus why I dislike the removal of these channels...
Dude so this same thing happened so many years ago. I don’t remember much of it, since I was probably about 7 or 8, but Nickelodeon and a bunch of other channels were completely unavailable. I, a Nickelodeon-watching elementary schooler, was devastated, and celebrated when the nonsense was over. Ah, memories.

That's really upsetting. I remember having Direct TV in 2007 - 2009. Direct TV was how I found out about a lot of interesting programs and channels (most are defunct now). They also offered programs from the east coast and west coast. I live in NY, I remember switching to what was being given on the west cost late at night to rewatch what I had watched 3 hours before on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, Disney, etc... at 12am when Nick@nite & AdultSwim was airing in NY time. Honestly, those who are interested in DirectTV, it's expensive as all hell and be prepared to lose cable when it rains.
Viacom does this like every year or two with Dish, sometimes lasting a month or two or longer, doesn't surprise me they do it with DirectTV too. What was weird was I just saw a youtube ad for this a little bit ago, so I guess they paid to try to worry people about this besides just putting ads on their own channels.
This seems to happen every several years or so. It'll work itself out, Viacom is big enough of a cable company to where DirecTV would lose a lot of subscribers if they did this.
Last time something like this happened, Viacom basically threatened the TV/Cable providers with a blackout, like what they’re doing now, to, 1, manipulate their fans/fan bases to talk these companies into giving more money for them to air, and 2, like Valiskibun94 said, to make more money in the long run. If we tell the companies to keep these channels on, it’s only going to make things like this happen again, and make it worse than the last time. Just remember to never give in, again, it’s Viacom’s fault to begin with, since they’re greed kept them from learning last time. Valiski please heart this comment.
I just realized something. If they actually do end up blacking out nickelodeon, that means there will be no KCA 2019... the channels would be removed on friday and kca is on saturday, *and i voted!!*
These cable/satellite providers always do this. Yea Viacom is gonna cut off their channels for a while but its whatever. End of the day, cable and satellite isnt gonna last too much longer since services like Hulu live tv and RUclips tv etc will eventually take over since its cheaper
I remember them doing this same thing years ago, and I remember freaking out because I might not be able to watch SpongeBob at some places. Then it turned out that no one I knew had DirecTV (and also that I had cable).
Why are they using preschool shows in these ads that are airing on the main channel? No 9 year old is gonna care that they can't watch Dora or whatever the little kids like.
Cable One got rid of Viacom stations all together back in 2014 and replaced them with Sprout "now Universal Kids", Hallmark, Sundance, etc., not sure if they ever got the Viacom stations because I switched to DirecTV in fall of 2014.

I don’t think it’s a lie, on both of Thier official social media accounts. They do say they are working a negotiating a new contract. Viacom wants AT&T to lower bills while keeping the channels. And DirecTv doesn’t want to spend more money!
SkitBit Production it’s says they lost about 40% of viewers during the past years and they’ve been also doing this to other TV providers as well but you know AT&T need Viacom Thier channels are popular this is all just propaganda
I used to have DirecTV, but my family got rid of it because it got really expensive. I would recommend looking into Philo. It’s only $16 dollars a month.
Edit: Oh no this is terrible! And why couldn't Teen Titans Go be on a Viacom related channel instead of being part of Warner Bros. so it can get removed on TV?!
