If I had the money I would go for the collector box. But honestly, I miss when magic was actually magical. I remember as a child opening rise of Eldrazi and innistrad, and the cards had a very unique and fantastical feeling to them. Now i feel like the sets are gimmicky, it doesn't feel the same at all. I miss the thrill of opening regular ol' booster boxes, pulling regular ol' cards. I remember when battle for zendikar block hit, and i was so excited for the full-art lands. Now every set has em. When they started doing the crazy frames and alt-arts, it depressed me a little bit. The cards used to be so cool, they had awesome lore and each set had a vibe unlike the previous. Now they all have some goofy theme to em and the only thing people get excited for are special guest cards or that crazy showcase. Man, when they did the masterpieces, it was so cool. Now there are so many cards that look exactly like them, its discouraging.
I'm with ya on playboosters. While collector boosters have the potential to whiff really hard, play boosters whiff more often in my experience (except maybe OTJ). i'm at the point that if i'm buying boosters, it's collectors only except for limited formats and the occasional fat pack
100% I'd go for a collector box. I've never had the chance to open a collector pack and there's a few cards from here I'd like. Plus I looove the Japanese art and the fractured foil is beautiful
Splitting the price of a box to draft with friends is probably the best value along with most fun you can get out of buying sealed. I never bought any box to just open for myself but I am a little tempted to get a collector booster box for this set.
In my opinion regular (play) boosters are still superb to Collector boosters.. reasons: most people and stores still look for normal versions of cards, foils still curl and they're value outside "serialized/special" versions is almost 1:1 with normal cards. Now getting 1-3 rares in Playboosters for around 5$ vs +20$ collector that I can use or sell more likely still looks better. Thats my opinion.
Collector booster for sure mostly because they lowered the chances to pull more then 1 rare by a huge percentage so often time you have to spend 20$ to get 5 rares vs just buying a 20$ collector
Depends on the set, but for current standard sets it's collectors boxes all day Modern horizons 2 and 3 play boxes for 200 are pretty solid right now, and dominaria draft boxes are filled with heat for 110ish
That is tough. I am a collector mainly, but can't go wrong with play boosters cause of the amount of playable cards. Especially this set I like it alot.
Play boosters for sure, until they fix the foil curling issue collector boosters are crap for people wanting to play with what they pull. Even in casual play, it's easy to spot a foil in a deck.
I miss the set booster box, the new playbooster boxes are just draft booster box now being sold for more and getting less and less, WotC did this probably just to upsell me to the collector booster box and I really don't like foils, I prefer the regular non foil versions of uncommon, rare and mythics.
Wish I could feel anything for all the new sets coming out. I used to buy boxes but it's just Meh to do that now. Nothing feels special when there is a set every darn month or so! Guess I'm gonna be a singles guy unless they print something that I love everything in and that feels timeless. I asked friends and other people if new players today will have the same feeling of nostalgia as we that hopped on the cardboard crack-train in the 90's. Remember Homelands? Tempest? What did you play during the Urzas saga era? Now it's just random places every set, chase card lottery boxes and soon you'll get a new set to crack. Time will tell. Anyway sorry for the rant. It just struck me now when I felt numb as you opened new cards. Keep doing the videos Moss Boss!
@Chaoslorden Started playing around 2010 and miss when they released less sets. Now there are so many sets coming out you feel you can not even enjoy the cards before the new set comes out.
It's not even that they release them what seems like every month. It's that there is no value in the play booster boxes. They force you to pay for collector boxes if you want the full art, full art foil, texture foil, and serial number cards that are worth anything. Everyone wants those cards. The basic version in the play boosters is worth a couple bucks, but the full fancy art is $20+.
If i had the money I would get a Box of Timespiral Remaster, of this Set I don't think there is enough Artwork of Cards that I like in either to justify buying it
if i had the money id rather spend a little more money on a collector box. but I DO NOT LIKE THE PLAY BOOSTERS.... I liked the Set boosters a lot better then the play boosters.
Play boosters are terrible to draft with in my experience so I’d pick collector. You have a much better chance to pull value, and I like blinging out my decks with foils

Play boosters are now just draft boosters sold at set booster prices, but with 1 fewer card now. I will only buy singles 100% of the time now.

If I had the money it would be a play booster box so I can draft with my friends.
wish they still had draft boosters for that

Thanks for these opening vids BBG. Gotta be honest this really makes me miss the good ol' set boxes where you could pull a TON of Rares and Mythics
I agree, if I’m gonna get anything it’s probably gonna be collector boosters
Got em! But my box was also accidentally bought with the gift edition bundle, so... another month. :(
Depends on the set, but for current standard sets it's collectors boxes all day

Glad your health and channel is doing great. Love the videos
Thanks Jeff

How many mythics and verge lands was this box total?
Collector box for sure. More Rares/Mythics and a chance to hit special treatments/serialized cards
I was under the impression that the Special Guest cards are in the middle of the commons in this set??
Haven't seen a play booster box opening yet look fun, always watch Joey open new products💯
Play boosters for sure, until they fix the foil curling issue collector boosters are crap for people wanting to play with what they pull. Even in casual play, it's easy to spot a foil in a deck.
Cant tell what cards they are if the whole deck is foiled, muahahaha

I counted 27 times the pull tab worked with those packs.
Have to agree. Collector boosters a big jump up in fun and quality compared to play boosters. Though, play boosters good for tokens.
This set looks good I like the flavor , def better then crimson vow and midnight hunt when it comes to a scary set
Collectors every time… I’d split a play booster if I had buddies that wanted to draft.
Going to buy Booster packs and just singles of other for some deck building.
I’m collector box all the way… want stuff that can go into my comm decks
Wish I could feel anything for all the new sets coming out. I used to buy boxes but it's just Meh to do that now. Nothing feels special when there is a set every darn month or so!

As the old homebuilders say... buy shingles!
Thanks for posting Joey!
I go with the play boosters. Thanks Joey.
What does ‘enlighted’ mean?
I’d buy the collector box. That’s where the bangers are. Also I collect but don’t play.
If i had the money I would get a Box of Timespiral Remaster, of this Set I don't think there is enough Artwork of Cards that I like in either to justify buying it

This is my third Bad Boy Video I’ve watched today. Can I roll a 4?

Some value there.
If your going to play the game get play booster but if you want to get better value collector. I personally like less cards.

Didn’t you find a special guest card in the middle of the commons and uncommons last video? 1:39
Yes, recoded this before that lol
These packs are arranged differently
@@JoeyMossBBG they really need to standardize how packs are arranged.
Play boosters suck, we need set and draft back
ever since bloomburrow play boosters have sucked. i found the sets before were still good..
Compare this with FAB Rosetta.
Bell it. Taco bell!
You opening this makes me just buy singles. It really doesn't appeal anymore. Set boosters were kinda cool, but this is just... mweh
