Great review. I installed mine and it went very well, actually one of the few products where things went quickly and right first time. I bought the smart lock due to being fed up with the faff of unlocking, then holding down the handle and unlocking some more (the lock I had needed this). This solved all those issies. I certainly wouldn't be confident if it was the only access to the property but I'd recommend it if you have more than one way in.
I have been using this for 7 weeks now, my parents who are not technical in the slightest have had very little issue using it, though my dad's Huawei phone logs him out occasionally, me and the wife both have one plus phones and both have issues with the app not connecting to the lock, but we know how to get it working again (kill off app, turn off Bluetooth, open app and follow prompts to turn Bluetooth back on). Not pleased that this happens, but will test on iPhone to see if it's phone or app related. I still see it as a bit of a gimmick, but enjoy having it as part of my smart home tech.
Mine went faulty, had to call a locksmith to break into my own house. Even though I had a Yale account, Yale did not want to know me, even with the 2 Year Warrranty, they did not honour it and it cost me a fortune for a call out late at night and a new lock
How long had you had it? What happened with the fault? I'll post update on my experience after 12 months, it is tech, so always can be issue with failure, but I'm surprised they didn't honour warranty, I'd be into trading standards if they tried to pull that one with me.

I'm having major actuator issues currently. Can't seem to get the motor to turn the bar and activate the lock.
