If you enter amazon through my link amzn.to/3lhFqKz I get payed a small percentage of whatever you spend there. It doesn't cost you any more and I don't know what you've bought. Many thanks to those that do use my link. its greatly appreciated.
Looks nice, I'm too lazy to rub on them anymore used to wet sand them now I use a propane torch just have to be careful not to get it to hot, the shine usually comes right back.
+rchopp I have heard of both but the reason I chose this method is because there is a wide margin for error. The sanding and the torch can be a little to much in a split second. I have used a heat gun to get the discoloring out of the plastic where it was hit and bent.
Window sill from ... HEAVEN! (angels sing) Sweet job on the 3 wheeler. Ain't it amazing how a nice shine is more important to most people than operation. People is funny beasts, but it should sell nice for that.
My theory is that most people don't know how to analyze the mechanical condition of a vehicle and rely solely on its appearance. I don't buy or sell anything that I'm not certain I can make mechanically sound and dependable so I work hard on appearance because when I get to that point,I have confidence in its mechanical condition.
Love the bolt bin. That thing looks pretty mean with all the plastic off. Sure are doing some nice work on that. I am going to need to give your 50/50 mix a try. That things sure is looking good. Another great video. Thanks for sharing!
That bolt bin was years in the making. I had to sneak the purchases past my wife a little at a time. If she knew how much money was hanging on that wall she would get mad and go buy a new sewing machine.
Hi Brad, I didn't know you could bring faded plastic back to life like that. It looks great! Much better than if you painted it. Plus, with this way all the original stickers can stay on it. Good luck selling it. I bet it goes in less than a week! Hunting season is coming! Thanks for the video. -mike
got any recommendation on easily restoring a ATV frame so its not as rusty without removing the engine (don't really have the equipment. this is a one man project). And also how to prevent it from rusting to smithereens by being housed outdoors all year round under a tarp?
So I have a faded front fender on dirt bike. I should use steel wool instead of the wet sanding? I tried the heat gun on part of the fender but man it can get out of control easy. I overheated one spot and ended up with white goo that I had to sand all over. Frustrating.
I saw another guy posted doing the same thing but he mixed to Paint thinner & Boil Linseed Oil together I think it was 40 60 mixed and his ATV came out looking just like yours, The problem I am going to have is changing the bolts on my racks
okay so you buffed then a couple of minutes ...than wiped off excess then did again and put it in sun for 5 hours... so you then after 5 hours buffed excess off with a rag??? thanks for sharing...also how long did it hold up???
Great video!! I never knew about the boiled linseed oil and paint thinner trick before. Looks like it worked great though. I would have used a buffer to try and make it go faster. Some people would have just painted it with plastic paint. That's what I've done with lawn equipment in the past. It's quick and easy for a few bucks. I've seen people shine up paint on a car with automatic transmission fluid before. Sixtyfiveford did it and it looked great. Wonder if it would work on plastic?
Hit it with a propane torch heat it and let it cool do it a couple times the bolt will come right out heat it for about six to eight minutes let it cool rite off and it will come rite out.
Thanks. It's on Craigslist right now. So far I have one scammer that wants to send me a check with extra money for my inconvenience of holding it for him.
Nice Job Brad. Thanks for the tip on restoring shine to plastics.By the way I love your shop. Every man needs a place he can be creative. Thanks for sharing man.You have some helpful and awesome content.thanks BOBBY
You need to come down here and spend a week vacationing at my house. You have an open invitation to come down any time, and just relax. Oh, and just in case you see anything here that needs to be done, it might be a good idea to bring all of your tools.
I don’t know, I sold it soon after. There is another way to bring back shine that involves a heat gun. I may try that next. This was a lot of elbow grease v
+Custom Southern Arms that's a nice size!! I don't know where you live but if you plan on spending a lot of time in it and you are where it gets cold in winter, don't forget to figure heating into the build. I live in Louisiana so heat is not absolutely essential but I did put a wood stove in and it does a great job of keeping it comfortable even on our coldest days.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I live in south central Georgia. And I'm looking at a four foot open base fire place for the center of the building.
+camMDR You have to use the steel wool to get through the oxidation or it wont work. Its a lot of el;bow grease but it makes a couple hundred dollar difference.
Hey Brad, do a quick slide show video on the Yamaha and post it on CL but leave it on YT and you might get ad revenue from it.. I know of a guy that sells stuff on ebay using videos of his for sale items and he gets a lot of hits over time on some. I use windows live movie maker for my slideshows and it is super quick and easy.
+Kimmies991 Thanks! Tomorrow I take pics and put this on craigslist. I was kind of in a hurry to get this listed because this is the time of year that the hunters buy 4 wheelers.
Lovely job on the work a shop floor it came up a treat! I love the windows ledge, what a genius idea, of course! so when will you be whipping up some chintzy windows dressings? 😂😂 i am in no doubt that you probably could too! When Christmas comes, do you ever hand make gifts? just curious ! much love Bernie xx
I was considering some lace curtains and some nice pillows scattered around. This year, the only gifts I'll be able to give will come from my shop. I'm gonna be starting on a grill for my freind Bev in the next few days.
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose how very twee I think a colour palate of duck egg value, cream and battle.battleship grey would be lovely hahaha! Home made gifts are the most beautiful imo. whether choice or necessity I don't care, I'd rather have a gift made with love 💖 will you film the make? x
Truthfully it will. Only way to make the oils(color) of the plastics is to buff the hell put of it with cutting compound. This is a quick method and you did a good job though!!! Keep flipping em$$

I love the way you instantly digress, made me subscribe
Don't listen to all them people who put trash comments on your video I think your video is very helpful.
Got that shop looking like brand new. Real good trick with the body panels , looks like it's spent it life inside now.
+Rusty “rustyglovebox” Glovebox It does look like a garage queen!
Wow!!! That plastic looks like brand new!! Another awesome job Brad.
+58 Powermaster Thanks!

I see this videos been out for a while but that thing came out gorgeous! Nice job! 👍

Nicely done, Sir !!!!!
Thank you kindly!
If I had the cash right now it would already be sold. Need one for the land. Great job!
You still thinking of moving out there?
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Either out there or much closer.
the shop looks like a hospital ! very nice ! that wheeler should bring like new price ! nice job bro
Thanks!

+goptools The last one went the next day to the first caller. Im hoping this one will sell fast too!
Amazing what a lil elbow grease does...Looks real good..
Thanks!
Brad looks terrific great job.

Wow! It looks like new. Should bring a tidy profit! Good job!
+Dr_Boom Im hoping!
Brad terrific job, hope you get your price.
+Tom O'Neil Thanks! I had a guy look at it today but he lowballed me.
4 wheeler looks great, nice job!

Wowww!!!!!!!!!! That is way better results than the torch method!!
I think its is> I saw the torch ,method and decided to try this. I'm glad i did!

Thanks!
Great job Brad! Looks sweet now.
+lumspond Thanks! I was amazed at how shiny it got!

Can’t hurt to try.

that's an amazing difference. I've had some luck with a heat gun but not like that
+Redneck Tech Heat gun is easier but one sneeze and you cant take the heat back. This is a little more time consuming but you cant rub to much.
okay so you buffed then a couple of minutes ...than wiped off excess then did again and put it in sun for 5 hours... so you then after 5 hours buffed excess off with a rag??? thanks for sharing...also how long did it hold up???
I dont know how long it lasted. I sold the machine not long after.
Beautiful! I hope it sells as fast as the other one! Thanks for re-uploading the video! ((((((((hugs)))))))))
+Donna M. Schmid I guess I'm just gpnna have to go back to using my camera. This is the third time Ive lost clips on my Iphone youtube editor.
How strange... Maybe it's a RUclips bug? Anyone else out there have the same problems, or some tips for Brad?

BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Oh OK. I may have to try the ATF and see what it does to plastic.
thanks, I'll be using this method on my nephew's bicycle parts.
Hit it with a propane torch heat it and let it cool do it a couple times the bolt will come right out heat it for about six to eight minutes let it cool rite off and it will come rite out.
Good tip, thanks. That ATV looks smoking! You should get top $$.
Thanks. It's on Craigslist right now. So far I have one scammer that wants to send me a check with extra money for my inconvenience of holding it for him.
Great Job that thing looks fantastic!
Thanks! You cooking in your shop today?
Yea, you hungry?

Every man needs a place he can be creative. Thanks for sharing man.You have some helpful
and awesome content.thanks BOBBY
Do you think that trick might work on my car's headlights, or my 30 year old, fiberglass tub/shower surround? Good Luck, +Blessings
I don't know. It would be interesting to find out!
Good job looks great I will be doing this to my old 300 God bless brother

I would have sleep in the house and not in the guest tent. Those bobcats love fat guys!
How long did that finish last?
I don’t know, I sold it soon after. There is another way to bring back shine that involves a heat gun. I may try that next. This was a lot of elbow grease v
lil off topic but what yr was that bear tracker
Does the plastic stay red for long?
About a year then it started fading again.
@@bctruck thanks
That looks great! I wonderif I could use the same process to clean up my old Coleman Ram-X canoe. It has been faded by the sun pretty bad.
Is the canoe fiberglass or plastic?
It's plastic.
+yoyoglock4 I think it would work!
WOW! That's beautiful!
+Ladyshystar Its amazing what elbow grease can do!
I have to do this to mine. Linseed oil and turpentine. Thanks for the tip.
Turned out great
+TheFloridaPunisher Thanks!
Nice job, thanks for sharing.
That's better. Looks real nice. What did you pay for it, and what do you think you can get for it?
+John Strabismus Ill be listing it for $2700,,,,negotiable.

does the steel wool have to be dry or wet ?
looking good, ready to ride.
Thanks! It's a much nicer ride than that three wheeler was.
looks great. good job
I heard you can use a heat gun and it will do the same thing
I've heard that too. I may try that on the next one.
You done good. Genius you are.
Thanks'
Electric buffer???
You must not have watched the video.
Nice video. What size shop do you have?
The bigger shop is 24x24 and the smaller (engine) shop is 16x24.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair,repurpose cool, thanks.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I'm planning out my shop now. From all the sizes that I've looked at I figure a 45x60 should do it.
+Custom Southern Arms that's a nice size!! How long did it last before having to do it over
I don’t know. I sold it soon after.
Gotcha
nice work
Wow! It looks great! I'm going to have to try the linseed oil paint thinner combo on an old 90cc quad we have before I sell it.
+camMDR You have to use the steel wool to get through the oxidation or it wont work. Its a lot of el;bow grease but it makes a couple hundred dollar difference.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Yeah,I'll remember that too.

will you film the make? x
+MotherGoose * ignore the word 'valuw' it snook in predictively x
+MotherGoose predictive spelling is our worst enema!!! Yes, I will record the build and I'll use my good camera and a tripod.
does this work on black plastics?
raul silva I don’t see why it wouldn’t.
What type of Steal wool did you use?
0000 fine.
BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose Thank you for replying I will be trying this trick out on my Polaris plastics
Did it last?
I sold it. That’s what I do. Buy broken down and tore up stuff, fix it and resell it.
What sort of plastic is it ?
David Hughes red.
good tip
Thanks!
very nice.....
Thanks!
I would love that!! How Much!!! ??
is it still for sale
No I sold it a few days after this video.
PUUUURRRRRDDDDYYYYY!!!
Yeah but what did you think about the four wheeler?
It was just OK...lol
6mm bolt
looks amazing.
personally i think you ought to keep it but you should get a great return on investment (roi)
I need a golf cart to haul my yard tools around. I really don't have a need for a 4 wheeler.
Where are your gloves :( chemicals are going right in your skin :( I made my husband close his eyes while watching that part... Lol
I can't find rubber gloves that fit my hands. Even the ones that they call large would barely fit doll hands.
+BCtruck, rebuild, repair, repurpose I'm gonna send you some :) Protect those precious hands, that a life without them, would not be good..
have cold at 10 celcius lol you don't know what cold is lol, but good work done
most in size bolts ect 13 mm
I may get as cold as you, but I hate cold with every bone in my body!!! Hate it!!
It’ll be back to sunfaded in 4 weeks lol
Oh you,,,,always the optimist.
Truthfully it will. Only way to make the oils(color) of the plastics is to buff the hell put of it with cutting compound. This is a quick method and you did a good job though!!! Keep flipping em$$
Very cool!
