How are people liking the form factor on the googles 2? I'm used to fatshark and way back when eachine box googles. For some reason I really like the size and feel of the DJI v2 over fatsharks. Maybe a little large but compared to a taranis x9-d throwing these in a backpack is nothing.

DJI tech is good but its so complicated when you have a lot of different drone (1s whoop,LR 7inch, 5inch, 4inch LR, 1s toothpick) and more if your into fixed wing and rc boats. for me at this time if WALKSNAIL system i simplier and more suited for this hobby paired with ELRS.

I'm satisfied with my 'old' DJI Goggles V2 and Caddx Vista's. WTF OS provides the one missing feature I wanted. I won't be buying any more DJI stuff. DJI is now dead to me. You are not alone. I grabbed a pair of the G2 goggles with the Avata and was hoping for eventual backwards compatibility. And now they are! Except I wasn't ready to abandon my V2 goggles. I have a son who also flies with me and was going to finally start updating his drones with DJI vistas as well as have him be able to fly my vista drones with his own goggles so we can have a fun digital drone day! NOT! Now, I realize we will have to split our fleet where he has his drones, and I have mine but, thats not very fun. The fact that we would have to maintain 2 different firmwares for our stable of drones kind of blows. Not to mention, you didn't talk about spectating. The majority of the group I fly with are still on V2 goggles and will probably stick to that. So now they cannot spectate me anymore if Im on the latest firmware with no V2 support correct? Yea, its not just YT influencers. Plenty of us were hoping to expand our options with this update, it seems, in DJI ridiculousness again, they have killed off that possibility. Profit-wise it makes sense but once again makes no sense to the actual pilots that supports them. Just my 2 cents. I think I have been flying as long as you have Joshua so Im happy to have a DJI system like this after years of dealing with analog but seriously, DJI always seems to do something to screw us in the end. Oh well. I have some choices to make. Maybe I sell off the G2s and buy a used pair of V2s and call it a day. But I really love the form factor of the G2s. Everyone talks about the terrible fit, but I guess my face is shaped just right because the G2s fit my face fine.

Yeah new avatas will probably ship with the new firmware and no ability to roll back unlike current avata owners. I don’t care about 10 bit color. I bought the avata because I absolutely didn’t want to have to have a phone with me to fly. Having a phone connected to my goggles and also the inability to fly indoors without gps is a deal breaker for me. I’ll never update my V2s or Avata. Or my o3 au for that matter. There’s no secret sauce DJI can put into it that would change my mind period. I like what I bought and don’t need additional features as a trade off for being handcuffed and unable to use them.

So... I have 3 quads, 3 Vistas, 1 Googles v2 with antenna upgrades, 1200mW hack and so on. I will not change to O3 units because I need to change all the frames and it's not worth it because I'm always use a GoPro Bones (hobbyist cinematic footage and sometimes a little of freestyle) and I'm happy with them, but I'm questioning about this update. If I buy Googles 2 and flash all my Vista units, I will gain more range or penetration? Or will be basically the same that I have now? I mean... the firmware only gave us compatibility, or "unlock" certain RF ability to work more as an O3 unit with a little gain in range and penetration?
If we will gain range and penetration only buying Googles 2 using our Vista units, maybe it's worth it. Otherwise, I will keep with all my hardware, because works flawless.

I SEE NO NEGATIVES TO THIS UPDATE, FOR 99% OF FPV'ers! 🙄🤷‍♂🤦‍♂
This IS an update for the Goggles 2 owners, or people waiting until DJI did this exact update so they could now buy the Goggles 2 and have them work with their existing drones with Vistas in them! PERFECT! 👍They now act almost totally like an 03 air unit, same software in your Goggles 2 and we'll have to see how they perform, after people have a chance to test the Vistas thoroughly with this new update. Sounds like JB thinks the performance might be better! I would not doubt that. Nothing negative for Goggles 2 owners or would be buyers - Everything is positive! 🎉🥳
    V2 Goggle owners:
This is NOT AN UPDATE FOR YOU. Just do nothing ... Simple. Nothing has changed. Vistas, Links, and 03 air units still work fantastic! 🤘
The ONLY way this is a negative for ANYONE is if you own BOTH the Goggles 2 and V2 goggles and for some unknown reason, want to continue using your V2 goggles. Why would you want to keep using V2 goggles after you have the new OLED, HALF the size, and 1/3 the weight Goggles 2? 👉GOD ONLY KNOWS! 👈 lol
But, for you, just sell your V2's and move on to the VERY BEST digital FPV in the history of the hobby! Don't look back. You've got what we always dreamed of having - OLED, small sized goggles!!!
Just curious...Why would you still want to use, or even think it's necessary to use your V2 goggles after you have the GIGANTIC upgrade to the Goggles 2? Makes no sense.
THIS BITCHING IS DUMB! There are NO DISADVANTAGES to this update for the Goggles 2. The new controller 2 works, the Vistas are now 03 lites, and you have OLED screens with diopters, 1080P in the goggles, 4k/100fps, and all functions just the way we always wanted it to be! Even Betaflight OSD is now with all air units!
Why is ANYONE bitching about this?!!! There is no reason too.
V2 owners, be quiet, this update isn't for you. Don't update. Everything still works great with all air units with the V2's! Be patient, maybe there's one on the horizon for you s00n?!
People....be happy...don't bitch and moan. Nothing is negative in the least bit. 😎🤘

So if I did that.. every time I switch I have to change back to DIY mode, bind to my vista's again. Use my vista's the old fashioned way. Really isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
But why don't I get to use my vista's and single 03 unit like the goggles 2 users get to?. It's annoying. Why does there always have to be a catch. Why can't the goggles 2 and V2 users have the same functionality? It's stupid and exactly why DJI is annoying. I'm just gonna stick to my vista's. Saving a little bit of weight on one quad isn't worth the money to me. I have also flown the Avata with the goggles 2 and I didn't like the new goggles. Don't like the way they fit at all.
