That my idea and one sentence log line is rather unique, and that nothing like it is out there, but it would never get made as a trilogy or TV show. It's too out there perspective wise, breaks rules and would be too costly to take a risk on come film/season 2. 'A hilarious gory dark comedy about us, but not for us or by us.' Maybe A24?
Every word rings true to me re dealing with investors / execs during this time on Zoom pitch meetings especially. Thanks for this one (and the series in general).
Can he also leave contact details of the relevant producers because selling a script doesn't begin in a pitch meeting. It begins in the how to find the agents and producers.
So where can a newbie writer expect a tv series or film to land price wise if bought? Looking for expls please (as I know every idea, genre, etc is "different" 😉
This guy is making your blood freeze. It feels like he's having this Aquarius vibe energy, very smart, weird and cold. I'd be frightened to pitch to him. I watched Pale Flower just to make an idea, and yea he's got a niche taste in movies and very original. I don't think he'd go for mainstream in selecting his projects and clients. The questions were great, you've got the info any new writer would need to know.
I think his hesitation was due to confidentiality parameters he was trying to adhere to, when referring to his recent pitch and deal. I know when I get carried away talking about a client or a deal my tongue works way faster than my brain and later on my writing partner let’s me know about it!
Intelligence, patience, and hard work gets you to this level. Nothing less will do.
and having half the people pitching, already knowing the executives you're pitching too...(sigh)
What key insights did you gain from this video?

When practice pitching I will hand the volenteers a sheet with the criteria I want or need to meet.
She is a great interviewer ;)
And so mysterious. They never put her name or pic in.
Knows her audience too, never afraid to ask for insider jargon to be explained
He gives more reasonable and useful advice than any I've seen.

"So do you have a movie for me?"_Yes Sir I do...
Writing it was super easy. Barely an inconvenience.

I got to say, for a guy who's supposed to be able to tell a story, he really doesn't seem to know how to get to the point
