Dude in south Florida every company I’ve ever worked for uses type m (not my choice I just use what they give me)but that being said one time I worked on a recirc line where it ate through the copper leaving a tin foil layer of solder that I could pinch closed with my fingers that shit tripped me out and ever since then if work on one I use my type L roll

Sheeeesh! Yeah we have a lot of contractors that use type m out here too. We have so many pin hole leaks on copper out here it’s crazy.
