We owned a commercial landscaping company through the 70's, 80's, and sold it in the 90's. One time we were approached by the city who offered to sell us their large wood chipped for super cheap. We said we would take a look at it and did. What we saw was a nearly brand new piece of machinery, impressive in size, not a scratch on it. We asked them why they were selling it and why so cheap? They all looked down at the ground for a moment until one of them spoke up, he said, "well, one of our guys got hooked and went all the way through." My dad had both a look of knowing and sadness on his face like he expected the guy to say exactly what he did. We thanked them for their time and shared condolences and went on our way.
