I am a biology guy and I will say something I didn't see a lot of people bringing up. Lagoona is a Sea monster (even of her name makes it seems like she isn't) and her G1 design didn't give me a lot of ocean vibes, because I think one of the most memorable parts of the ocean are coral reefs and all the diversity there, which is VERY colourful, so I like how colourful she is because of how much she makes me remember coral reefs. Maybe I am seeing nitpicking, but I remember thinking Lagoona was a lake monster when I was a kid because she looked more like lake fishes do. (Sorry for the rambling, English isn't my first language)

There are VERY VERY few pink fish and those that are are schooling or shoaling fish meaning they live in groups for safety. Plus her leg paint comes off she no longer has webbed hands which was one of the best things bout her it made sense nothing bout her makes sense anymore and if they want to go this route they should give her some teeth on her doll some fish fangs would least make her more of a monster. Her ears are cute and her leg fin design is so much better then the original and I like her build. They should of kept her outfit like the cartoon whomever thought giving a doll with arm fins a mess sweatshirt was not thinking things through. I hope they fix her leg paint problem cause that right there is a deal breaker even if you can like her. I’m hoping they find some type of 13 wishes plot line to make least one release of this type of doll blue. I’ll buy like 6.
The fins are meant to be removable. They are stiffer than they used to be (so you need to tug harder) which is probably because OG G1 Lagoona's fin's were super loose and the first thing a kid would lose which is why poor second hand Lagoona is always missing her leg fins.
LAGOOONA IS SOO CUTEEEE!!! She had some of the cutest dolls in g1 and im sooo glad she's still like that here!!! We need more possitivity here for G3 bc its doing sooo goood design wise and theyre head to head with G1. Its just fun to have MH back in stores thats available for everyone and doing new stories that focus on diversity. Also!!! Lagoona is now Honduran ,from Central America!
She's so cute, and I love that gradient on her legs! I think I'm gonna get her at some point, I bought Draculaura already and I plan to get Cleo next. And tbh, watching videos that talk positively about the reboot has helped me be a lot less nervous about just now getting into MH. I'm in my mid-20s but I just wasn't into G1 while it was around, and the nostalgia-centric backlash worried me a bit 😅 So thank you for making these videos!

I do think i prefer the g3 bodies/sculpts so far (plus the added bust articulation) but am preferring the the old with overall character personalities/clothing. I am trying my best to remind myself "hey, these are essentially new characters with the old guys name" instead of getting upset over something inevitable/already happened lol. do hope for better fashions (design wise) because apart from lagoona and maybe cleo and drac...meh, could be better.
Early on in this reboot you said something like "My Little Pony had to change and there were some generations that weren't as good, but without them the line would have ended." I do like the differentiation between the blue Lagoona and the current one. But it's always more fun to me when things are switched up drastically! G2 failed for me in that regard. This Doll is beautiful. Thank you for your video!

I don't get the hate for these dolls AT ALL. These are AMAZING and the nostalgic toxicity of those wannabe G1 stans is really going against everything MH stands for. The amount of Bodyshaming Draculaura has got is just disgusting. If anything G3 is the most inclusive and diverse Gen of MH. The doll Market obv. Changed after a literal DECADE, tweens aren't as interested in dolls anymore like they used to so why should companies try and make something reminiscent of a completely different time for the satisfaction of the minority of the buyers??? I hope they continue keeping MH going the way it's going it's going great!!! Also note that you absolutely don't need to like these dolls if they aren't for you, just don't compare and bring down another gen just to push the other one up, like just be respectful about it.

Thanks for identifying her necklace as cowrie shells - love those! Lagoona's hydro bottle seems to have a puffer fish skin. Hmmmm... is her "water" safe to drink? ( Oooh, probably not for me.) Her bathing suit teal color picks up the teal of her legs, and I think the salmon fringe goes well with her majority skin tone. I like her much better after watching your review - thanks!
She looks much better than I expected. At first I was like "bleh she's pink now what an unnecessary change 😝" but it works very well with the glitter and the blue legs. The glitter gives a bit of an iridescent effect. I think it would have been better if the hands faded to blue and had webbed fingers, though. I love how she has more shape in her body now btw.
I like that this version looks so different. The old Lagoona got real repetitive real fast. 13 wishes was my favorite version just because she stood out.
For your next review can you put all your g3 dolls together I think that’d be a good way to show what the generation is giving :) I’m super exited for this gen!
I'm fricking 13, and I feel embarrased to say this but. I want them all :( G3 is now my favourite, body shapes, colour changes and stuff.. Nothing can stay the same! If g3 would look like g1 and g2 people would be upset that there is no change, now when they did excellent job and making me wanna collect dolls (I stopped at age 11) is just- *Bruh* Lagoona was always my favourite and she is beautiful the way she is. There is a problem with them in quality. While I’ve grown to kinda like Gen 3 (never as much as Gen 1) there is one really HUGE problem with them especially dolls like Lagoona, Frankie or Toreli or any doll has printing on their body. And that is the paint comes off! I’ve seen post bout Lagoona and Toreli I haven’t handled my Toreli from 6 pack much yet but I did Frankie then I noticed the stitches rubbing off! So no the quality is NOT as good. I don’t think most ppl want to buy dolls then ALSO buy sealant to preserve their paint. I’m extremely disappointed in this. I kinda really like Frankie AND I literally collect Lagoona ALL Lagoonas so now I’m like crap! I’m not gonna be able to handle any of them much at all now til I can buy sealant which I can’t really afford after buying dolls and idk bout that stuff! And no parent buying them for their kids is gonna wanna do that either. I can TOTALLY see a parent buying these and their kid plays with it ONE day and the paint comes off then the parent being like well I’m not buying that line again they’re junk!

For anyone who buys this doll please put some type of paint sealer on her legs IMMEDIATELY. After 10 minutes of opening her, the legs already started chipping even though I was being super careful. After applying a layer of modge podge her legs were fine and hadn't had any further chipping.
Except that I'm not a huge fan of the shade of pink they chose, I really really love everything else about her (screening, eyecolor, bodytype, hair, facemold, clothes etc). If I'm honest, I'm not a fan of how they changed her character (not the looks, I don't mind, but her personality/nationality). Cause to me it doesn't feel like Lagoona if she's not Aussie. Now she feels like a totally new character, maybe Lagoona's Honduran cousin or something? Like she could have at least been part Australian, like her mom could have been Aussie (Australian Aboriginal would have been awesome). Seeing as she's were an existing character and not a new character I think that would have been better choice. Or maybe it's just me beeing extra picky cause she's always been one of my favs (2nd favorite character after Catty) 💕. As you said though, it's meant to be something new, and I'm not angry or anything, not at all. However this interpretation of Lagoona just isn't for me I guess but I hope the newer fans will love her. I'm just happy that Monster High is back and I don't want them to leave ever again. I also liked G2 btw, I really prefer their body types to G1 (& Lagoona's G2 dolls are super cute). Bodytypes keeps getting better and better however cause G3 are my favorite ones overall.

In grade 5 (maybe 6?) I brought my Swim Class (?) Lagoona to school and lost one of her leg fins. I found it in the lost and found and tried to put it on but it was for the opposite leg…meaning somebody else lost their Lagoona fin there 💀this was 2015-2016
These just remind me of Barbie extra dolls. Too colorful and out there. I personally don't like them except for Draculaura. She is cute though. Great review!
Lagoona and Cleo are my favorites from G3 they just have a very interesting design compared to G1 and I was that kid who never wanted Lagoona because her face was weird, and I only ever had one Lagoona doll.
Honestly lagoona is one of the g3 monster high dolls I don’t really care about having, but I’m going to give her and Clawdeen a chance once I see them in person
It’s an alternate universe, I love both g1 and 3 and she didn’t even look that bad in g2 especially shipwrecked. I’m especially obsessed with g3 lagoona I just wish the ombré on her legs didn’t chip off so easily

Im a huuuuge lagoona fan. I must say that at first i was super mad that she is pink.... But what can u do right... I love her now and she is the first g3 im gonna get!
She is a very cute doll only I prefer the original Laguna dolls. She reminds more of a sister or cousin to her. I think the pink color is so off that she shouldn't be called Laguna Blue. I respect everyone who loves her and I may even get her, only I just can't see her as Laguna but someone else ;)
Laguna is my favorite. I love the new colors and her hair is colorful. The pets looks like littlest pet shop. I love the pops of teal as an ohmage to Gen 1. They made them cutesie to appeal to a younger generation. But imo that was the whole point of Monster High. You could be scary and different but still cool. They had a certain color pallet and more gothic spooky look. They were unlike any other dolls on the market. I think they cheaped out for the price point. Printed on fabric and thin rooting like the fashionistas. We've seen what quality can be done at the same price and have a whole lot more to the outfits like real clips and different textures to the clothing. MGA kinda broke the mold of what should be expected of a doll. As a collector I want the same quality as gen 1 rather than playline quality. The real drama dolls have more than the gen 3. They say its not a reboot but it really seems like that. The storylines have been expanded but she's more mermaid like in this color palette. The swimsuit is similar to the one from shreikwrecked and beach besties. Mattel is known to do this but her scrunchie should be a real functional scrunchie not some plastic piece. Overall i love both dolls equally and wish I could have gotten a creepreduction Laguna
I've been a MH fan since day one and I can't seem to get into these dolls! 😅🤣 it's definitely not for everyone which is fine! I personally don't like the high saturation of the colors. I wish the scales looked more like scales and they should have carried it into her face contour instead of going so heavy on the "freckles". Her outfit is kinda cute tho. 😗
She is my least fave of the new ones but she is a cute doll. I would love to repaint her tho. The molds on the g3 dolls are supreme! My faves so far are in the following order best to leas fave. Drac, Cleo, Tory, Deuce. And I used to not like Drac at all! Now she is just perfect to me!

To be honest, as a new doll collector (just this year) I like gen 3 way better. I saw the originals back when they came out, I had a friend that liked spooky stuff, and I do too, but I just kina went "oh, okay" when she showed me her dolls. I didn't think they were toys either, I thought they were like some expensive collector thing she was into, she was like that. I'm much more interested in these versions, I like the rounded faces, the softer interpretations of "monster". Only thing from gen 1 I prefer is the very skinny bodies, I don't like the larger bodies as much.
Ngl, i'm still salty they made lagoona not blue. Just want more of the old blue since we already got draculaura covering the pink department and frankie has her own thing going for her with the blue and yellow combo. Overall at the least mattel needs to make more blue or aqua colors to make up for the lacking in her name now. Feeling like i ordered blue moon but got vanilla or pink sherbert instead.

At best i just want the character to look close enough cuz to me they changed the whole asthetic where instead of blue we got sherbert pink as main color when the whole cast had their own colors going on. Draculaura was pink and black, clawdeen was mainly in the purple and accent browns/greys, frankie had blues and white/silver/yellow accents, lagoona was fully in the aqua blues/ aqua greens and pink accents. Now they inverted her as pink with some blue accents which to me just hurts my eyes. If they wanted her pink skinned, go ahead, but at least make the hair a dark tone to ease the eyeballs cuz there is too much on that doll to me.

That’s the point of a reboot! They change stuff for a new generation. The old Lagoona is still safe in g1 and they still release g1 merchandise featuring the original Lagoona!
Love her but the only thing I don’t like about the whole g3 is the art on the packaging 😭. I feel bad but it’s just not desirable and it’s more of like a “kid friendly” thing and idk I just wish the art was more fierce. But I will say lagoona looks the best in this art style.

When I was little, I always denied that lagoona was a seamonster and called her a mermaid
I always thought mermaids were monsters. But then I liked the ones in the Odyssey. Sing for supper... Lol

And that is the paint comes off! I’ve seen post bout Lagoona and Toreli I haven’t handled my Toreli from 6 pack much yet but I did Frankie then I noticed the stitches rubbing off! So no the quality is NOT as good. I don’t think most ppl want to buy dolls then ALSO buy sealant to preserve their paint. I’m extremely disappointed in this. I kinda really like Frankie AND I literally collect Lagoona ALL Lagoonas so now I’m like crap! I’m not gonna be able to handle any of them much at all now til I can buy sealant which I can’t really afford after buying dolls and idk bout that stuff! And no parent buying them for their kids is gonna wanna do that either. I can TOTALLY see a parent buying these and their kid plays with it ONE day and the paint comes off then the parent being like well I’m not buying that line again they’re junk!
I just removed the ombré from my lagoona’s legs, cause it scratched so easily. I wish they would fix that
@@jiggerblayne I got a refund from Mattel bought another used Mr. Superclear on her Frankie and Toreli so far so good. BUT yes they need to fix this issue I shouldn’t HAD TO buy it to seal some dolls that are brand new

For anyone who buys this doll please put some type of paint sealer on her legs IMMEDIATELY. After 10 minutes of opening her, the legs already started chipping even though I was being super careful. After applying a layer of modge podge her legs were fine and hadn't had any further chipping.
Except that I'm not a huge fan of the shade of pink they chose, I really really love everything else about her (screening, eyecolor, bodytype, hair, facemold, clothes etc).
If I'm honest, I'm not a fan of how they changed her character (not the looks, I don't mind, but her personality/nationality). Cause to me it doesn't feel like Lagoona if she's not Aussie. Now she feels like a totally new character, maybe Lagoona's Honduran cousin or something? Like she could have at least been part Australian, like her mom could have been Aussie (Australian Aboriginal would have been awesome). Seeing as she's were an existing character and not a new character I think that would have been better choice. Or maybe it's just me beeing extra picky cause she's always been one of my favs (2nd favorite character after Catty) 💕.
As you said though, it's meant to be something new, and I'm not angry or anything, not at all. However this interpretation of Lagoona just isn't for me I guess but I hope the newer fans will love her. I'm just happy that Monster High is back and I don't want them to leave ever again. I also liked G2 btw, I really prefer their body types to G1 (& Lagoona's G2 dolls are super cute). Bodytypes keeps getting better and better however cause G3 are my favorite ones overall.
My only problem with the design is that they changed her much more than the others!! And I love lagoonas original design so I'm quite sad

In grade 5 (maybe 6?) I brought my Swim Class (?) Lagoona to school and lost one of her leg fins. I found it in the lost and found and tried to put it on but it was for the opposite leg…meaning somebody else lost their Lagoona fin there 💀this was 2015-2016
She's very pretty I want to get her next. I love her colors.

Lagoona and Cleo are my favorites from G3 they just have a very interesting design compared to G1 and I was that kid who never wanted Lagoona because her face was weird, and I only ever had one Lagoona doll.
I just got Lagoona today she is my second monster high doll ever. The first was g3 Frankie!
I look forward to when these are more easily available, I will be adding a few of the G3 dolls to my collection, and Lagoona is adorable.

Honestly lagoona is one of the g3 monster high dolls I don’t really care about having, but I’m going to give her and Clawdeen a chance once I see them in person
It’s an alternate universe, I love both g1 and 3 and she didn’t even look that bad in g2 especially shipwrecked. I’m especially obsessed with g3 lagoona I just wish the ombré on her legs didn’t chip off so easily

Brooke, do you know what type of hair she has, mainly regarding the teal and purple strands of hair? I'm afraid that they could have Polypropylene hair fiber on these since many Barbie Extra dolls, mainly the ones with fantasy hair color, have Polypropylene and it is the absolute worst. Thank you!
lagoona has all saran hair, every color is saran ^__^ same with draculaura and cleo (the ones that i have)
Clawdeen is the only one with polypropeline! Everyone else has saran hair (although cleo has tinsel as usual)

She is a very cute doll only I prefer the original Laguna dolls. She reminds more of a sister or cousin to her. I think the pink color is so off that she shouldn't be called Laguna Blue. I respect everyone who loves her and I may even get her, only I just can't see her as Laguna but someone else ;)

Laguna is my favorite. I love the new colors and her hair is colorful. The pets looks like littlest pet shop. I love the pops of teal as an ohmage to Gen 1. They made them cutesie to appeal to a younger generation. But imo that was the whole point of Monster High. You could be scary and different but still cool. They had a certain color pallet and more gothic spooky look. They were unlike any other dolls on the market. I think they cheaped out for the price point. Printed on fabric and thin rooting like the fashionistas. We've seen what quality can be done at the same price and have a whole lot more to the outfits like real clips and different textures to the clothing. MGA kinda broke the mold of what should be expected of a doll. As a collector I want the same quality as gen 1 rather than playline quality. The real drama dolls have more than the gen 3. They say its not a reboot but it really seems like that. The storylines have been expanded but she's more mermaid like in this color palette.
The swimsuit is similar to the one from shreikwrecked and beach besties. Mattel is known to do this but her scrunchie should be a real functional scrunchie not some plastic piece. Overall i love both dolls equally and wish I could have gotten a creepreduction Laguna
I love G3 - I wish that they would start showing up in my stores here in Maine. My Walmarts are soo slow lol

I've been a MH fan since day one and I can't seem to get into these dolls! 😅🤣 it's definitely not for everyone which is fine! I personally don't like the high saturation of the colors. I wish the scales looked more like scales and they should have carried it into her face contour instead of going so heavy on the "freckles". Her outfit is kinda cute tho. 😗
She is my least fave of the new ones but she is a cute doll. I would love to repaint her tho. The molds on the g3 dolls are supreme!
My faves so far are in the following order best to leas fave. Drac, Cleo, Tory, Deuce. And I used to not like Drac at all! Now she is just perfect to me!
If you have a can of Mr Super Clear then you can seal the paint on her legs and keep it from chipping!

To be honest, as a new doll collector (just this year) I like gen 3 way better. I saw the originals back when they came out, I had a friend that liked spooky stuff, and I do too, but I just kina went "oh, okay" when she showed me her dolls. I didn't think they were toys either, I thought they were like some expensive collector thing she was into, she was like that. I'm much more interested in these versions, I like the rounded faces, the softer interpretations of "monster". Only thing from gen 1 I prefer is the very skinny bodies, I don't like the larger bodies as much.
They just arrived at my Walmart but no Lagoona or Frankie, I really want Lagoona!

Ngl, i'm still salty they made lagoona not blue. Just want more of the old blue since we already got draculaura covering the pink department and frankie has her own thing going for her with the blue and yellow combo. Overall at the least mattel needs to make more blue or aqua colors to make up for the lacking in her name now. Feeling like i ordered blue moon but got vanilla or pink sherbert instead.
Pink is an aquatic colour.. do research.. there are more vibrant coloured fish than blue ones

At best i just want the character to look close enough cuz to me they changed the whole asthetic where instead of blue we got sherbert pink as main color when the whole cast had their own colors going on. Draculaura was pink and black, clawdeen was mainly in the purple and accent browns/greys, frankie had blues and white/silver/yellow accents, lagoona was fully in the aqua blues/ aqua greens and pink accents. Now they inverted her as pink with some blue accents which to me just hurts my eyes. If they wanted her pink skinned, go ahead, but at least make the hair a dark tone to ease the eyeballs cuz there is too much on that doll to me.

Honestly Lagoona is not one of my favorites of the g3 dolls. I like her outfit and her color scheme, but I don't like her forehead scales and the hairstyle they went with.
You can remove that and just restyle the hair.. I hope these simple easily changeable things don't deter you

That’s the point of a reboot! They change stuff for a new generation. The old Lagoona is still safe in g1 and they still release g1 merchandise featuring the original Lagoona!

I wish that her hands had that faded, translucent look since she doesn't have webbed hands... And why doesn't she have the scales on her legs like in the art? She's cute but I hate that her fins are not painted, the swimsuit doesn't match and those unsymmetrical scales 😬 And if they really wanted to change her skin color... Why salmon 🤢 The less fantasy skintones make them less like monsters. The easily scratchable paint leaves a lot to be desired
