Looks pretty decent. I know the Academy kit, in the instructions it shows the landing light going on the wrong side. I did see that the stubs for the Sword stabilizers are very short, this will be a problem and a lot will be falling off. Sword better fix that fast. Nice to that the Sword has early pencil nose and windshield. Maybe one of them will make an F-8C. There is an aftermarket conversion for that from Muroc models which is a very good set.

I thought that early nose conversion too, but at this time I can't destroy new model for that

@@TV-ez4mdPut the nose on the Academy kit. The RF-8 has the skinny nose.

Nice to see the two kits side by side. I know they are different subjects, but relevant as the most recent offerings of the F-8.

This was the intention as I guess everyone who is interested in RF-8 has knowledge of Academys one.

Sword been hitting the goal, long awaited!!!
But I think that it is no good idea to compare two basically different aproaches, short run and solid metal moulds

I agree, model of RF-8 is long overdue, and Sword did it good. This is a niche subject, so it is really nice that we got one that is good.
I made this comparison because everyone who wants this RF-8 kit knows the Academy F-8 kit and its virtues. And as you can see it compares quite nicely against it. I would have liked to see the option for raised wing in RF-8, but there is no space in runners I guess.
Of course Sword is limited run kit and the most of the difference to main stream kits comes how it goes together.. but that would be a subject to another video.

Respectfully, I think the comparison was brilliant since @TV covered most aspects of the short run kit using the well known and highly regarded Academy kit as a baseline ... to which most of us can relate. He made no conclusions, leaving any to be had to the viewer. His perfect presentation will be of use to others who, like me, wondered how the kits compared as regards execution.
