So inspirational! I love these shirt transforms. I'm doing one now with a large men's sweatshirt. I'm a large woman myself, so it's great to know these can work even for plus sizes! I transformed a men's 2XLT shirt to fit a woman's 3X body.
Basically, I cut off about 10cm from the bottom of the long shirt, which I made into triangular gores to add to the sides, to give room for my belly. That worked great, so now I'm cutting off the collar to give a more flattering scoop neck style, and cutting and re-setting the sleeves so the shoulder seams match my shoulders. Lastly I will shorten the sleeves to the elbow, then use the remaining fabric to make a sleeve ruffle. The rib knit I trimmed from the bottom of the shirt can now trim the neckline, and the shirt hem is finished with simple double fold hem.
If I have any small scraps left, I might make a small flower-like decoration to embellish the neckline. I've had good results by simply creating a few circles of knit fabric (since it does not fray) and stacking them to imply a flower. A small button might be added to become the flower center.
