This video concludes my preview coverage. I did win a total victory in the second attempt with a slightly tweaked deck (command vehicle instead of helicopter, a bit more inf in helicopters). Shows how important deckbuilding, knowledge and map knowledge are ;)

This game looks very interesting. How was your experience playing for the first time? Is it tough to learn?

Hi :) I have played games by Eugen before, in particulaly Steel Division 2, so I was not completely new to everything when I started playing WARNO in Early Access. So my experience differes a bit to someone who is totally new to games by Eugen.
Having said that: Personally I think WARNO is very approachable and their most approachable game so far.
      1) The tutorials are really good and help you learn the basics in a fun way.
      2) You can adjust the AI difficulty, I think very easy will be very doable even for very new players.
      3) If you play singleplayer (Skirmish, Operations = scenarios or Army General = campaign) you can pause the game to issue orders and also play with reduced speed.
So I think a new player does not have to jump high to get into singleplayer. It is very doable and fun, plus the setting is good and graphics fantastic (even on very low end machines).
You can play together with eg good AI against eg easy AI, too. (up to 4v4).
You can also play Skirmish and even the campaigns coop with a friend.
If you want to get into multiplayer, it is probably best to start with 10v10 (eg even with VulcanHDGaming on one of his WARNO evenings). 1v1 is probably the most difficult part of 1v1 and while there is ELO you will also be put against better players if there are not enough players of your level looking for a game. Also, learning the ins and outs of all divisions and units and maps takes some time, but that is mainly a thing for 1v1.
Conclusion: Singleplayer and Coop = very approachable even when playing for the first time (first tutorials, then ai very easy in skirmishes).
10v10 a good and still not too hard experience.
1v1 can of course be tough, like in any game basically.
You should also consider checking out discords like SDLeague also on youtube) and the website waryes (offering lots of statistic etc) and their discord.
Also, just getting the base game and see how you like it is enough. You can still get the expansion pass at a later stage or buy individual dlc. There are literally hundreds of hours of content in the base game already.
I hope that helps, let me know if you have more questions :)

@@VampiroGaming Thanks a lot for your answer. I think I'll give this game a try. I've been waiting for a war simulator like this
