my *realistic* first year on youtube | stats, lessons learned + advice for casual creators

january 30, 2023 marked one year of uploading videos on youtube on this channel!
i wanted to talk a little bit more about my realistic experience being on this platform because i see a lot of videos by larger creators talking about their yearly stats and growth. but, i don’t see as many videos from smaller channels talking about their stats, especially when they’re closer to my size.
my hope is that this video is encouraging to anyone out there who wants to start a youtube channel or is a smaller channel. you can still have a lot of fun on this platform even if you don’t gain a lot of subscribers, views, etc. and/or get monetized in your first year. so if you’re thinking about starting a channel, i say you should just start :)

i haven't really done a specific phd day in my life because i feel like it's kind of boring 😅😂 but maybe as i start to get more into the thick of it i can do one. thanks for the suggestion 🙂

I've been uploading on and off on YT for a year also and I gotta admit that the stats affected me, but this year I started to get back to it again and have a new mindset that I'm doing this for my future self and i'm just gonna enjoy the journey and focus on improving my craft 🥰
Also, i'm taking grad school and I want to document it to see my own growth too. Thank you for doing this and sharing your journey 🥰🥰

but, i love that you're doing it for your future self and enjoying the journey because i relate a lot to that.
