This was a solid closure to this arc. Both men have come full circle. Obi Wan gave Maul a much more honorable death than he deserved. That makes Obi Wan truly noble.
This fight is very well done. Obi-wan first assumed his usual stance, but then he decided to change it to his master's style. Maul noticed that and remembered how he had beaten that style before. He charged at Obi-wan, bating him with two strikes, and delivered a swift chin bash he used to stun and kill Quigon Jin. However, it was all planned, Obi-wan successfully out wit Maul and swiftly changed back his style mid fight, deliver a fatal one strike across his chest, killing Maul immediately. Such a cool fight.
Anyone who had a problem with this fight is not a true Star Wars fan and failed to realise how symbolic this fight was. The stance Obi-Wan took after realising exactly what Maul was going to do, sends chills. For anyone who doesn’t know, the short move we see Maul do was the exact move he did to kill Qui-Gon. Of course, Obi-Wan knew he was going to do this and actually took his older master Qui-Gons personally fighting stance before Maul attacked.
I love this fight! There is so much tense and it reminds me of the samurai sword fights. It shows Obi Wans power as a jedi - you can feel that he remembers all things which Maul did (Qui-Gon, Satine), but he is able to forgive... and shall become more powerful than we can possibly imagine

The Dragon Warlock you both obviously don't see the significance and meaning of such a short fight.
didn't anakin one shot each kid? like there was no fight. they could have been standing in a line and it will end pretty much the same
@@UnrealSjS shameful to associate yourself with such poorly constructed opinions. You won’t be getting a subscribe
how is he dead ? ._.
Gnx 23 - he slashed him through the chest and down
Well that was anticlimactic............
not that I'm pissed about it. would jus think their rematch would been more intense. good move countering the same move that killed Qui-gon
even they made maul lose. maul is still the better fighter than obi wan
Clearly not lmao Maul got destroyed. People don't understand how mad powerful Obi-Wan actually is.
James Ling-Vance obi wan got defeated by vader.
Vader also said his powers were weak
@@TheChosen2030 lol, and yet Obi Wan warned him that "if you strike me down, i will become more powerful than i ever was before" both he and yoda have transcended both time and space......they are literally everywhere and nowhere now.
thnxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Seriously it was that easy?
Obi Wan used a feint to trick Maul. First they went into stances. Maul to his, and Obi Wan to a Soresu opening. But then Obi Wan changed to Ataru, Qui-Gon Jinn's style.
Their blade strikes were Qui-Gon vs Maul all over until Obi Wan sliced down the middle of Maul's sabers. Obi Wan successfully used Maul's muscle-memory/training against him. That's why Maul looked surprised after the pattern was broken.
Now i sad they said maul originally got killed by darth Vader i want to see that and could have done that like obi wan could have made maul snap out of it and we could have see maul and darth Vader fight but no yes that was a good rematch but a wasted opportunity to have him fight darth Vader u know what after season 3 i done with rebels and i watch Star Wars tv shows if they have it in live action
And have that scene in the end with darth maul saying his dying final words to obi wan and Ezra
I dont understand Mauls death. Obiwan damaged his lightsaber. So, what does it mean? Maul died because in his lightsaber was heart or his "hope" died to kill Obiwan?
He cut maul down his body. Think..the same cut Rey gave Kylo but instead of his back it was his front and it was a lot deeper
Yes, you´re right. I see it. But it was very quickly.
@@starwarsstar2340 because of Disney we’re not allowed to see what really happened, but in reality Obi wan split his chest open
So uncivilized
Good battle for kids, but not for fans like me. They are fightning less than one minute... Sidious should kill Maul in Clone Wars...
It really is the other way around.. If they danced around for 5 minutes, that woulda been unnecessary. Kids might not like that, but it's reminisent to actual Samurai fighting. You enticipate and deliver one swift strike, and it's over.
Sure, a little bit more may have been nice, but it works just as well.
at the start I was dissapointed with the fight but then I realised how real it was,no extravagance like the prequels just emotion like the sequels
Emotion like the sequels? I don't think so; Obi-Wan against Darth Vader in Episode IV is much better for me than that and this is not long battle too.
@@remipaws8917 so, you just want the spectacle the light sabre fights bring then? also, real fan?
My opinion is the complete opposite way round. A full blown fight would have been a spectacle for children, but this short meaningful and symbolic fight meant more to me than most light sabre duels of the whole Star Wars universe
Obi wan had the high ground.....
frank lutton ground looked pretty even to me
@@orsoncallankrennic7245 in this case, the high ground is the level of skill rather than actual footing. Maul told Ezra that if he hesitates like he did with the inquisitors, it would end up getting him killed.......apparently Maul's words were taken to heart, and Obi Wan didnt waste time and just cut to the chase, pun intended XD

This fight is literally so bad! Very lazy in the film makers part
This show is just utter garbage! what a pathetic fight. i would have thought by the 3rd season or what ever season its at now, it would be a better show.
lol yeah.....its garbage cause your fav character died after aimlessly wondering the desert, no food or water, trying to find Obiwan, and when he did, it was like a lvl100 paladin fighting a lvl18 rouge. i agree the fight was a bit of a cop out, but at the same time, he was also going against someone more powerful than he was......hell if the comments are correct, he even tried to use the same moves he used on Quigon on him, and it clearly didnt work as he got countered.
@@bigshow196 the comments are right, look at how obi wan changed his stance to Qui Gon, and Maul thought this means he can do the very same move he used against the master, when it very clearly isn't the case.
I like the idea that Maul was actually pretty suicidal a this point and felt some kind of twisted bond with Kenobi. Either way, I think it was a great fight and harkens back to the Samurai movies that inspired the original star wars films.
