Your voice is so nice to listen to, and I really enjoyed this video! I'm currently finishing my last year of High School and getting ready to attend college in the fall, so I,ve been looking into getting a nicer planner system to help me transition. Your video and system was super helpful. Thank you!!!
i love how you talk about not making your planner chaotic with too much color and too many stickers. i'm thinking of using nothing but grey ink and my fountain pen for 2018. just to calm my mind. i can use another notebook for stickers, washi, etc.
Loved how you plan on using your Hobonichi. I started my first Techo Cousin at the beginning of Jan. and have been loving it. Congratulations on becoming a Med. student! My daughter is a med. student as well and really loves it! I have a suggestion that might help when making your index. Get a highlighter that doesn't bleed & highlight every other line. I think that may make it easier to find things in your index since the lines are so close together. The Zebra Mildliners are nice & come in pastel shades. Just a thought. Thanks for a great video & good luck in all your studies:)
This is a great video. Thanks for sharing. That cover is so beautiful. P.S. I am so glad to hear you say "syllabi" because so many others I've watched lately have been saying "syllabuses". As an English major that just drives me nuts.
I've been struggling with my new cousin because I just feel that right now it's too much space for me and it stresses me out. I really like your idea for your daily pages. I'm a nursing student and go back to school next month. I may do something similar, creating concept maps and notes in my dailies because my planner is something I know I will always have with me and can pull it out to study in any free moment. Until then I am using a weeks and it's TOO SMALL! Hate being wasteful so I'll have to figure another use for that haha. Thank you for sharing
Love your video. I am a big fan of Fox and Cactus and Once More With Love. I use them both in my Cousin. Once you start buying stickers your collection kinda just keeps growing! :)
I noticed you have stickers from Once More With Love, I have several sheets of her stickers, and I love them! Your setup looks amazing, and loving your lettering as well! :) :)
Hi! Thanks for this video. I am a newly minted PhD candidate moving from a (mostly failed) BuJo in a Leuchtterm 1917 to a Hobonichi English Planner (A6 size). I'm thinking the additional structure is going to be helpful and the size is a lot more compatible with my purse. I'm in the process of co-designing a grad student stamp set with an Etsy seller. PhD candidates: can you help tell me what kinds of labels are/were most useful to you in your planning? Thanks!
Love this video! Really curious on how well it'll work out for you. I started using a Hobonichi Cousin for school last year and my setup is almost exactly the same! :D I just don't use the monthly pages.
Did you consider spraying the cover with a fabric protector like Scotchgard? I got the cream canvas cover and love it but I'm so concern about it getting dirty.
Love love love this video! Hope you make more videos - we use our Hobonichis in similar ways, with stickers and some decoration. I'm torn between getting a Cousin or the Cousin Avec for 2017, I'm afraid the washi/stickers will bulk up the pages. I went with a Cousin Avec in 2016 but I'd slightly prefer having everything in one place. Did you experience problems with the weight and bulking up of the pages with your decoration?
Thank you so much for watching! I definitely hope to come out with more videos featuring my hobonichis =) This is my first time using a cousin and I went with the avec for that very reason! I definitely think it will bulk up with the stickers and washi although ideally i would have liked to have everything together
I love that cover - you have an avec in it and mentioned it was already hard to zip. Do you suppose that the tambourine cover would not fit a full year cousin?
It was hard to zip because of all the extra stickers I stored in the back pocket. Since taking them out, it zips beautifully =) A full year cousin should definitely fit, but I don't think you'll be able to store a lot in the pockets with it and zip it
Thanks so much for helping me out.I do have one more question if you don't mind.Do you order from Hobonichi directly or from a site in the U.S.Thanks again for your quick response. Now I know what the aver books are all about.Linda
No problem at all! I always order from the Hobonichi website but it's because I order a few things at once. That being said, if you're looking for just the hobonichi, JetPens sells the English version. I don't think they carry the avec though =(
Hi.You sound like you know a lot about planners.I,on the other hand know nothing.Being an older person I would like to know if you have any thoughts on which planner might be the most effective for me.I want a planner that I can carry in my purse.I write on the big side so the daily spaces would have to be a decent size.I am using it for scheduling appointments,a to do list and for reminders.Any information you have would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Linda. P.S. The Hobonichi planners have piqued my interest.
Thanks for stopping by my channel! I would definitely recommend checking out the original hobonichi techo (A6 size)! It's compact with a yearly glance, monthly glance, and then day on a page. There is the avec option for this size as well (which means the planner is divided into two books- 6 months in each) if you're worried about it getting heavy as the year goes on. Hope this is helpful =)
This! This is another grail next to Soda Water and Black Flower Rug!! It's beautiful!

Karlisha Brown it’s like when people say “cactuses” instead of “cacti” lol. Drives me bananas as well!
Seriously wanting a hobonichi cover for my Bullet Journal!
Brooklynne Michelle do it!!!! There are so many nice ones!!!

I have the exact same ring you are wearing on your thumb, and believe it or not, I bought mine 22 years ago :o)
I just realized this video is 2 years old, how did this set up end up working out??
Hi gradient_colors,
Love your video. Can you upload an update on how you've used your Hobonichi Cousin for studying this year? :)
Love this video! Really curious on how well it'll work out for you.
I started using a Hobonichi Cousin for school last year and my setup is almost exactly the same! :D I just don't use the monthly pages.
Thank you so much!! I'm hoping it works out too! It's only been a few days but so far, so good
Did you consider spraying the cover with a fabric protector like Scotchgard? I got the cream canvas cover and love it but I'm so concern about it getting dirty.
You can spray fabric protector to it like scotchgard

Love this cover! Does a standard letter size or A4 paper fit in the back pocket where you store the rest of your stickers?
Anh letter size definitely fits! Not sure about legal though
Hijabi stickers are soooo nice)) where can I get it?
